Hero Tolerance – Lost in Mistranslation Episode 112

It must be tough being a superhero. All that pressure. All those expectations. To live up to an impossible standard and never once falter. That must be why they changed the requirements to simply: Beat the bad guy. Nowadays, a hero can level an entire city as long as a villain gets their comeuppance. Bonus points if said comeuppance includes a very violent impression of an owl. -30-

The Esoteric Breath of Video Games

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild the first open world Zelda game. That right there was the first reason why I lost complete interest in it since day one. Well great, another open world video game in a market where have one too many sandbox adventures. These games are all about excessive space, most of it serving no real purpose to the gameplay or game design. Be it role playing games, first person shooters, or straight up action games, we have seen far too many open world games and it’s become the most saturated sub-genre of gaming. Given the power of current technology, they’ve done away with intricate level and game design, instead providing vast amounts of nothing to traverse through. It’s hard to invest yourself in these sandbox worlds when they feel so devoid of life and meaning. Origins There were exceptions, and I don’t know if I would call this an open world game per se, but Shadow of the Colossus on the PlayStation 2 thrust players into a desolate land, …

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is still Wii U Bound

The Switch could not ask for a bigger launch title than The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and that new trailer was absolutely breathtaking. Still, this title did start out as a Wii U game, and with the Wii U being phased out and production slowing down (if not ceasing) the future of the Wii U version was in limbo. Great news for those still wanting that curtain call for their Wii U as the The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will also be landing on the Wii U on the very same day it launches for the Switch on 3 March 2017. This has happened before, as The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess began life as a GameCube title, and then ended up becoming a launch title for the original Wii console in 2006. The GameCube version still released alongside the motion-control enabled Wii version. Nearly a decade later history has repeated itself. Those of us who still want to get that extra mileage out of their Wii U have …

What do we know about Nintendo’s upcoming video game The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild? Well, we know that it’s been in development since 2013, and that we didn’t see anything of what it has to offer until 2014. We know that it was delayed three times, originally intended to be released in 2015 but now slated for release in 2017. We know that it will feature a new Link, who was a given to appear in this title, albeit in a form that we have never seen before. What’s funny is, until today, we had no idea what this game is called…that is, until Nintendo decided to release several videos of the new project, revealing it to be the game we now know as The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild. This new addition to the long line of The Legend Of Zelda titles looks as though it’s set to take players on a wild journey through a new and exciting land featuring game mechanics reminiscent of older titles in the …
