Hadou-Ken Doll – Street Fighter V: Champion Edition – Humble Opinions

I think at this point there are more editions of Street Fighter than there are Ken dolls in this world. Not that it’s a bad thing, because in the past each new edition of a canonically numbered Street Fighter felt like a true sequel in every sense. Most modern fighting games have now migrated to a free-to-play model, some more shamelessly than others, but the 2016 launch of Street Fighter V on PS4 as a “disguised” and overpriced free-to-play title was an utter disappointment. The initial game at launch was so incomplete that the quintessential arcade mode would only come months later as free DLC; Capcom were quite generous that way. Since then, there was Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition in 2018 which was probably what the 2016 game should have launched as a bare minimum, and from there things got a little better…and also a little confusing because Arcade Edition on PS4 would subsequently get released in arcades. So basically the arcade version of the Arcade Edition. Give it a moment, it will sink …

Street Fighter V Introduces Us To New Fighter: Kolin

I’m a simple man, and therefor don’t know much about the world around me. Something I know for certain though is that the world in question is run by an elite series of hyper human beings known as the Illuminati. They’ve got their God-like hands in everything; music, television, film, food products…I assume. Nothing will stop their reign! Apart from, like, Ken or something. A martial artists can probably thwart this secret governing society. Actually, I’m fairly certain that they have before. Street Fighter III saw the introduction of a brand-new villain; Gill, who was once actually the leader of the aforementioned shadow organisation; the Illuminati. Now while you may assume that I’m on the verge of revealing that he himself is to appear as a new playable character in the already released Street Fighter V…you’d assume wrong. It is, instead, his silent assistant Kolin who will be joining the roster for the latest instalment of playable characters. Yes, Kolin is her name, and fighting for the Illuminati is her game. Revealed by Capcom just …

Online Street Fighter V Players Will Finally Begin Being Penalised For “Rage Quitting”

When you buy a game, be it for the single player campaign reasons or otherwise, chances are you’re going to go ahead and try it’s online mode. With fighting games like the Street Fighter and Tekken series, only the best of the best dare step foot into the arena of the World Wide Web. Me? I choose never to try and contest those who have the guts to jump into online matchmaking and hold their own against the countless powerful opponents that sit at the other end of their Wi-Fi connection. It’s a daunting place that casual gamers like myself should never dare venture, but for you seasoned fighters…it’s just another feature of the game to be dominated. With things like online multiplayer also comes the aggressive art of “Rage Quitting“; an act mostly executed by “gamer” types that allows the user to escape from a situation by simply exclaiming that they are indeed upset, and leaving whatever game it is that they’re currently playing. It is a technique easy to learn, but almost impossible …

Street Fighter World Champion Daigo Utterly Defeated By Rapper Lupe Fiasco

Anime fans may be familiar with the rapper by the name of Lupe Fiasco for his various Japanese pop culture references in his lyrics such as the now infamous line “Lupe steal like Lupin the Third”. That said it may have come as no surprise to some that Lupe Fiasco was recently engaged in a game of Street Fighter V with the world champion Daigo Umehara. What began as a friendly match between world champion and rapper quickly turned into a heated competition which ended in epic fashion as Lupe Fiasco defeated the world champion Daigo Umehara at the very game that he has been touted as the world’s best player of. It is chilling to think that it does say in the bible that Lupe Fiasco defeating the world champion of Street Fighter is one of the signs of the impending apocalypse. That said, I for one welcome the end of days with a laugh because this shit actually happened. To reiterate, yes you read that right, a rapper defeated the world champion of Street Fighter. …

[Update] Street Fighter V’s New Character Laura Leaked Thanks To Famitsu Mishap

Not coming as any surprise to fans of the long-running fighting game series Street Fighter, it was only a few days ago that Capcom announced the return of the Red Cyclone, Zangief, the the roster of their upcoming game Street Fighter V. Those in the Zangief fan club cheered in delight, but those looking to get some information an another brand-new character winced in disappointment…until Famitsu accidentally released a set of screenshots showcasing the not-yet-announced new character Laura instead of the aforementioned Zangief who was meant to be the star of the featured gallery. Wearing all green and looking strikingly similar to Australia’s very own Megan Gale (Valkyrie – Mad Max: Fury Road), it was clear that this character was not at all the hulking Russian mass known as Zangief. Famitsu quickly took the pictures down…but unfortunately not quick enough to erase it from the internet; something I’m fairly certain is near impossible. We now know that her name is indeed Laura and fans of the series across the internet who know a little about true-to-life …

Upper-Class Fighter – Karin Kanzuki Joins The Roster Of Street Fighter V

Tokyo Game Show 2015 has just begun and, in standard open ceremony-style celebration, Capcom have already revealed another character for their upcoming PlayStation 4 and PC exclusive Street Fighter V. To add to the other fighters who’re making a return to the Street Fighter franchise after falling into obscurity after Street Fighter Alpha 3, Karin Kanzuki has just been announced as the latest character to be added to the Street Fighter V roster. Like the rest of the cast, she’s earned herself a visual upgrade, both costume and graphics-wise, so looking at her duke it out with the other new members of the Street Fighter crew will be even sweeter! Alongside the announcement itself comes a trailer featuring the classy girl in all her fancy action, kicking the ever-living crap out of new character Rashid, which we have provided for you just below. Street Fighter V is set for a 2016 release across the world for, once again, the PlayStation 4 and PC. -30-

Rainbow Mika Revealed As Playable Character For Street Fighter V

I’ll let you in on a little secret, reader; back when I was a young man and I had just gotten my hands on a copy of Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max…I had a serious crush on the bodacious professional wrestler Rainbow Mika. Maybe it was her long blonde hair, maybe it was her revealing outfit, or maybe it was her signature technique the Flying Peach, whatever the case, this fictional character stole my young heart and, since then, I’ve made sure to always leave a place open for her when she chooses to make her return to the fighting arena…which is now. Capcom have just announced the return of R. Mika for Street Fighter V with a fantastic and exciting trailer that shows off her next generation looks as well as her devastating wrestling style that seems to now involve getting a helping hand from another powerful grappler. What’s better than a single Flying Peach? How about two?! Alongside the announcement trailer, Capcom also released a fairly detailed explanation of not only her character …

Fight Like An Animal – Mysterious Street Fighter V Character Necalli Revealed

Not too long ago, Capcom announced that the classic Street Fighter character Ken Masters is set to return to the battlefield for their upcoming title Street Fighter V. At the very end of his introduction trailer a mysterious figure was shown, one that caught the eye of many fans of the series, and one that could not be properly figured out. Some believed that it was the demon fighter Akuma, while others (most notably Luke) believed that it was some odd version of Blanka seeing as Capcom had hinted at his return for the new game. No matter which of the older characters you thought it would be…you’d be very much wrong because this marked man is someone you’ve never seen before. Named Necalli, this creature-like fighter brings an air of ferocity to the World Warrior Tournament. Unlike many of the other fighters in the game’s long list, Necalli does not have a style of his own, instead he fights using nothing but his basic animal instincts and a strange yet powerful ability that changes not …

Changing The Game – Street Fighter V Kicks Purchasable DLC To The Curb

Buying and playing a video game should be as simple as buying and playing it, but that is no longer the case. We live in an age wherein which video games are released incomplete. Us, the players, are forced to update time and time again thanks to new features added to a new title weeks after initial release. Some of these updates are known as DLC and some of the developers behind the games practically force the players to use even more real-life money to add to a game that, for all intents and purposes, should have been complete upon release. Capcom has mastered this style of money-making with it’s more recent Street Fighter titles that are released over and over again with mostly the same content bar maybe a handful of new characters and playable stages, so why have they decided to make a change with Street Fighter V? We have no idea, but it’s damn exciting that they have! Capcom has released a great deal of information regarding their upcoming title Street Fighter V, …

If Looks Could Kill – Ken Masters Returns For Street Fighter V

Oh yes! San Diego Comic Con has officially kicked off and that means you’ll all have to start preparing yourself for an onslaught of awesome news and even more exciting reveals coming fresh from panels across the convention. The first big Japanese title to get itself an SDCC update is Street Fighter V which will, of course, see the return of Ken Masters, so sayeth the trailer shown at Capcom’s panel. The “new” Ken Masters appears sporting a brand-new fighting attire alongside a sick half-ponytail so most, but not all, of his golden locks obscure his vision while he fire kicks his opponents to near death. Great thing is; more than just Ken’s appearance has been changed, his fighting style is now very much different to that of Ryu which will piss off some old-school fans and excite others. I’m one of the others. While still being able to rock a Hadouken, Ken’s style has changed to be a little more, let’s say, “flashy” which you’ll see once you watch the introduction trailer provided below. …

Street Fighter V: The Return of Charlie Nash

Having been previously hinted in a previous trailer, Capcom has officially made it known that Street Fighter V will contain the re-introduction of one Charlie Nash. Previously believed to be dead, fans may notice one or two key differences in the returned Nash, namely the patches of flesh that don’t quite match the rest… First mentioned in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior (1991) by Guile during his quest for revenge; Nash was a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and one of Guile’s best friends. Although it was hinted that M.Bison was involved in Charlie’s disappearance in the past, it was never really fully explained… …until the Street Fighter Alpha series, that is. In Street Fighter Alpha II (1996) we see firsthand that a helicopter controlled by M.Bison’s forces make quick work of Nash as M.Bison gets away. Initially presumed to be dead by both friends and foes alike, Nash’s return shows that his story is far from over. While the mysteries surrounding his return will become clear later on, for now we’re pleased to …

Street Fighter V to See the Return of Charlie Nash

Though not much footage has been released regarding the upcoming instalment in the Street Fighter franchise, one particular trailer features vision of a character absent from the roster since Alpha 3. Apart from that, the trailer depicts a classic match-up between Ryu and Chun-Li. That being said, it has been stated that the game will feature a number of secrets that have yet to be revealed. So enjoy what has been announced whilst you wait for the news to come. -30-

Street Fighter V – Announcement and Gameplay Videos Released

Welcome to the world of “Street Fighter V”! Prepare for battle! Capcom has, over the weekend, confirmed a piece of leaked information regarding the next video game in the “Street Fighter” series and that is that this new game actually exists. As you can probably imagine, it’s called “Street Fighter V” and as a way to combat the leak Capcom has gone ahead and released an official announcement video as well as the very first piece of gameplay footage. The gameplay video, with no information regarding a release schedule apart from 2015, shows series mascot Ryu going up against femme fatale Chun-Li. At about a minute and a half long, this is a great trailer for the game especially seeing as, not that long ago, we didn’t even know it existed. The announcement trailer isa little less about the showing the new game and a lot more about the emotion behind a long-running franchise and the release of its newest title. That doesn’t make it any worse of a video though, in fact, I’m probably …
