Space Dandy Part Two – Review

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, a great space epic was unfolding. Heroes, villains, battles fought for the very survival of galactic peace and prosperity. Slightly to the left of that, a few eons in the future (I think), we fin yet another tale of heroes, villains and battles fought for the very survival of galactic peace and prosperity…not that anyone really cares about that. Taking all the wonder and majesty of the universe and cramming it in the path of the universes most notorious drifter, who not many people know, the saga of Space Dandy is one of…confusion. With every conceivable creature, planet and event a mere warp away, our champion of the stars throws reason to the ever expanding corners of the universe, spending countless hour pining after the fairer sex, yet somehow still planting his quaffed visage squarely in the path of oncoming adventure. It’s ludicrous, it’s nonsensical, but at the end of the universe all that really matters is that it’s dandy, baby. Picking up where they left …

Screw Poker! There’s A “Space Dandy” Collectible Card Game In The Works!

Cards are great. End of article. No! Cards are incredibly awesome, especially when they’re part of a collectable series wherein which you build a deck and duke it out with some of your friends! i’d like to think I can bounce around the ring with the best of them but usually when I think something of myself it’s actually the opposite. We all love “Yu-Gi-Oh!”, we all love “Cardfight Vanguard!!”, we all love “Weiss Schwarz”, but you can but your old decks in the bin for all I care because Seven Seas have just branched out into tabletop game creation with the CCG they’ve just announced through KickStarter; the “Space Dandy CCG”. The company is well-known for publishing both Anime and Manga alike but now they’re tackling a new titan and it comes in the form of a collectible card game. A KickStarted campaign was set up not nine hours ago to raise a measly $12,000…I say “measly” because, already, they goal has been met with the total as of writing this article sitting at …

Space Dandy Part 1 Review

Space. The final frontier (as far as we know), full of mystery, adventure and wonder…also slackers, chain restaurants and sexy, sexy ladies. Such is the existence that Space Dandy calls his own. Drifting through life without a care in the universe, our unwitting hero finds himself in increasingly insane situations as even more insane villains chase him to the very boundaries of infinity, and then some. So follow along the best you can with the perilous journey of the Aloha Oe, a clunker of a ship that ferries our cast ever onward…whether it’s a good idea or not. That’s the Dandy way to live. Dandy, but you can call him Space Dandy, is a man with a dream. A passion that drives him to continue on in a universe fraught with danger. That reason is Boobies my friends. More than just physical asset, in this particular representation of a space faring future, Boobies is one of the many breastaurants (as they are officially called) that populate the sea of stars that flows between planets. A beloved stop off that our …

Madman Comments On ‘Space Dandy’ Release Delays

Madman Entertainment’s release for Space Dandy Part 1 was originally slated for a release in October 2014, that was until it was unfortunately delayed until December 2014 due to circumstances beyond their control. Fans of the series with a keen eye have noticed that Madman’s official website now lists Space Dandy Part 1 for a February 2015 release, meaning the series is once again been delayed. We at SnapThirty reached out to Madman Entertainment for comment on the situation to try and get some clarity on what exactly has gone on with this highly anticipated release. Madman Publicity Manager, Ben Pollock replied with the following statement on the situation: I wish I could say it’s because he’s spending too much time on his hair – but it’s a simple matter of a delay in the materials we are sourcing for the release from the U.K. So there you have it. Bar any more unforeseen circumstances, Space Dandy Part 1 should be ready to warp into stores in February 2015. If anything changes however we will …

‘Space Dandy’ Final Thoughts – Staying Dandy, Baby

I expected Space Dandy to go out with a bang, but with its series finale it did more than that, it went out with a big bang – literally. Over the course of 26 fantastic episodes, broadcast over just under a year, we have gone on many adventures with Dandy and his faithful space crew in space. It was only fitting that Space Dandy saved its biggest and most ambitious adventure for last. After spending the entire series raising questions about whether all of this nonsense actually mean something, we finally get a definitive answer here from Space Dandy. Yes it does. In retrospect it is hard to have imagined where Space Dandy would journey as a show, but it has explored both philosophical and humorous territory over its run, but it has always been at its best when it manages to find common ground between the two like it does in this series finale. The finale revolves around the idea that the Gogol Empire has finally captured Dandy after spending the entire series playing Team …

In the latest episode of the ‘Snap, Crackle and Pop Culture Show’ Luke and Frank sit down for another short conversation, this time they talk about the legendary Shinichiro Watanabe and his Summer Anime titles that are currently running. ‘Terror In Resonance’ and ‘Space Dandy’ take the spotlight in this episode as the boys explain to the audience why exactly it is that Shinichiro Watanabe is the star of this Anime season. The two also go back a few years to briefly talk about Watanabe-Sensei’s past projects as they reminisce about the ‘good ol’ days’ of Anime. Anyway, enough ‘chit chat’! The video is below for all of you to see so go ahead and check it out! -30-

Space Dandy and Honey in Excellent Model Form

What’s that Space Dandy fans? You like merchandise? Have you checked out Be@rbrick Dandy yet? What, you want more? Well have you come to the right place. After the unbridled chaos that featured in Space Dandy’s triumphant Season 2 return, it might be time to dial it back a little bit and enjoy two characters from the good ol’ fashioned timeline we all know and love…regardless of whether or not we all understand it. I of course speak of the titular hero himself (Dandy) and his favourite waitress in the whole universe: Honey, the one again, off again helper to the crew of the Aloha Oe. For “just” 9,720 or 9,990 yen respectively, you can be the proud owner of either Dandy or Honey. The MegaHouse Excellent Models measure in at 20cm (1/8th scale) and will ship in October. Each figure also features alternate arms and expressions, so you can mix it up whenever the mood strikes you. But, as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words…so enjoy the following 20,000 word epic…21,000 if …

Get Your Very Own “Space Dandy” Be@rbrick Thanks To Medicom

I bet you all saw this one coming right? Avid Anime watchers who are currently enthralled in the new Summer season would have most likely watched the new episode of ‘Space Dandy’ wherein which Dandy and his crew travel through countless dimensions meeting other versions of themselves and getting up to their usual mischief. Why was this episode so damn good? Well we got to see Dandy and co in ways we’ve never seen them before! In one dimension our hero was a Shonen fighter with the skills, style and overall vibe of the late king of pop Michael Jackson. In another dimension he was a dark and gloomy alien hunter who’s partners are a horrific cyborg man and a man who thinks he’s a horrific cyborg…hmmm. One dimension’s Dandy would perhaps be considered one of the greatest shows of product placement the Anime world has ever seen: This particular Dandy was simply…a Be@rbrick figurine. It was blatantly obvious that this was, in a round about way, a promotion for the new Space Dandy Be@rbrick …
