Prison School: Complete Series – Review

While things like ghouls, goblins, creatures, and critters tormented me and my heightened imagination as a child, it is the thought of being locked in a high security penitentiary that does a wonderful job scaring me into submission as an adult. While I’ve done no such punishable crimes up until this point in my life, and I have no plans to commit any going forward, I’ve seen too many television series about being locked behind bars…and it scares the living daylights out of me. I suppose, when looked at in this particular light, it’s clear to see why a system like the penal works so well, arguably, because it keeps frightened citizens like myself from doing anything less than legal. Now, if you were to tell me that the institution that would host my incarceration was one akin to that featured in the recent hit Anime series Prison School, well…the rate of crime in my area would multiply tenfold. You see, although I don’t consider myself a felon of any kind, I do understand that …

Anime of the Year Awards 2015

Welcome to SnapThirty’s second annual ‘Anime of the Year Awards’ for the Year of 2015. It has been a wild ride for anime fans with countless classics making a major impact on the anime community and industry. Over the past year we have seen blood used as a weapon, we have witnessed city wide destruction on multiple occasions, learned how to assassinate our teacher, felt the true force of a single punch, joined the fight with Tekkadan, sang along to Bump of Chicken’s ‘Hello World’ in broken Japanese, saw life unfold from the bar stools of Quindecim and saw a topless doctor perform surgery in the middle of a Vietnam war battlefield. So in honour of this year in anime we present the awards for the best of the best and even a look at some of the most memorable moments in anime this year. Without further adieu, these are the winners for SnapThirty’s 2015 ‘Anime of the Year Awards’: Anime of the Year 2015 – Blood Blockade Battlefront How many Anime compel you to rewatch the current …

Small Screen, Big Screen, All Screens – AnimeLab Now Available On Sony TV

Let’s be honest, people, you all have some pretty flashy television sets. Television sets? Do they even call them that anymore? Ugh, it doesn’t matter. The point of what I’m saying is that, chances are, if you own a TV…it’s a damn good one. Sony, who love making advances in technology, have their own line of televisions, how crazy is that? Amazing right?! Well a lot of their new televisions have some wonderful features, with most allowing users to some of their favorite apps like YouTube so that they can watch their favorite videos on the big screen, that is…unless your computer monitor is already big. Do you know what’s just as exciting as Sony televisions? Madman Entertainment’s Anime streaming service AnimeLab. Surely you know what AnimeLab is, right? No?! You’re clearly lying, but allow me to explain regardless: It’s an online service that allows us Australians to watch the latest and greatest Anime without having to reach into the darkest depth of the internet for a worthwhile torrent file. So, yeah…it’s pretty damn good! …

Sentenced to Life – Prison School Gets Live-Action TV Drama on MBS

For those of you who aren’t opposed to a little bit of penis whipping and sneaking into the girls communal shower while taking advantage of your crush’s bad eye sight then do I have some good news for you! Prison School is getting the live-action treatment with MBS commissioning a live-action drama TV series set to premiere on October 25th, 2015 in Japan. Coinciding with such a tease of an announcement, MBS did things the Prison School way and cut to the chase and went for a full measure of sexy domination with a trailer for the drama. Check it out below but be careful you may just wind up sentenced to life between the thighs of one Prison School’s buxom dominatrix’. But then again that is probably not such a bad thing if you’re into that kind of thing. -30-

Jailhouse Rock – FUNimation Announces Prison School English Dub Cast

I’m sure the humour of an Elvis reference in the article title will be lost on many of you reading this but just know one thing…the warden will throw no parties at this jail. Another one, probably lost on many of you. That’s okay though, because it’s not the main point of this article, the main point of this article is that FUNimation have just revealed the cast and crew who have been working on the Prison School English dub which is set to premier tomorrow night in North America at 8:30/7:30pm CT. I seem to be one of the only people I know who is actually watching Prison School which is fine because I’m not sure it’s a series I exactly want to take the time to dissect episode by episode like I usually do with a lot of other simulcasts. The story is simple: Five boys attending a school filled entirely by female students are sent to an on-campus prison for trying to perve on their lady classmates. This prison, run by some …

First Thoughts: Prison School – Drop The Soap, You’ll Probably Like It!

Holy shit! You guys seriously have to check out Prison School! It’s like, wow, I never start articles in such unprofessional ways, especially not with a swear, but this Anime is absolutely freaking crazy, so much so that I honestly cannot write an article about it in any kind of professional manner. It simply would not fit this atrociously hilarious Anime! You know, it’s actually quite funny, I watched the first episode of this Summer Anime with the thought in mind that it was going to be utter trash and that I’d be watching it just so I could talk about it on the next episode of our very own SnapCast, making jokes and ripping it to shreds as Luke and Kane laugh along. Turns out that this hyper-sexual comedy is actually one of my more favoured Anime series’ from the lineup of new Summer titles. Why though? It plays host to a level of sexuality that can only be described as unnervingly aggressive. It is, at it’s very core, the softest version of dominatrix …

Summer 2015 Anime Season Watch Guide

It’s been a year since I did my first anime season watch guide and I have been gradually tweaking the formula through each of the last 4 installments but I think it is time for a more simplified approach. If you have been reading my previous entries you may have mixed feelings about this approach but I feel it ultimately will give every show covered a fair go in comparison to assumptions and hearsay. This time around I’ll simply be listing the shows that have caught my eye and giving some thoughts on each listed. So without further adieu, here is SnapThirty’s handy Summer 2015 anime season watch guide. Gangsta (Manglobe, July 2nd) Without a doubt the most obvious standout in what is seemingly a rather lightweight season of anime. The Gangsta series is based upon a cult-classic seinen manga series and has received critical acclaim including a series of rave reviews from our site’s own Frank Inglese. The series follows Nic and Worick a pair of ‘Handymen’ who handle the jobs no one else will. In …
