Celebrate The Launch Of “Berserk And The Band Of The Hawk” With New Trailer

Kentaro Miura’s Berserk is still a wonderfully popular Manga series, with its elongated support being spurred on by two different Anime series’, both new and old, as well as a series of films. Some time ago the Manga even inspired it’s fair share of video games, but it’s been quite some time since the general public have seen something new from the franchise’s gaming side. Omega Force revealed quite some time ago that they were currently developing a Dynasty Warriors-style video game based upon the gruesome Manga, and today finally marks its release for not only the PlayStation 4 but the PlayStation Vita and on the PC thanks to Steam. A series that lends itself well to the gameplay style Omega Force seems to have mastered over the years, Berserk And The Band Of The Hawk will follow the story told in both the series’ original Manga as well as the Anime and films that followed. With playable characters ranging from series protagonist Guts to key member of God Hand; Femto, formerly Griffith. To celebrate the game’s …

Virtual Worlds Collide – Accel World VS Sword Art Online: Millennium Twilight Revealed

Avid readers of this site will know that I’m a sucker for crossover video game titles. Heck, crossover Anime, crossover Manga, crossover anything! So long as it has characters from different series’, different worlds, different realms, and different stories, I’m sold. Simple. Now, those same readers will also know that I’m not a fan of Sword Art Online, BUT that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate a good combination like this: Bandai Namco Entertainment today released a teaser trailer for their upcoming game Accel World VS Sword Art Online: Millennium Twilight, a game that will bring together the virtual realms of Reki Kawahara’s two most popular Light Novel series’. In the past, these two stories have crossed over, several times actually, but never on a scale like this. The game is set for a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita release sometime next year, that date has yet to have been released, and it’s genre is still yet to be outlined. Despite the fact that the two series’ are quite similar, they’re based on different video game …

Prepare To Take To The Streets Once Again With The Newly Announced Akiba’s Beat

It was in the year 2011 that the Japanese public first laid their eyes on the PlayStation Portable title Akiba’s Trip. This strange action title that relied heavily on a combat system based around stripping the clothes off of your enemies to submit them to the harsh rays of the sun took the country by storm, but due to it’s incredibly niche audience…this game was never released in the West. Jump to the year 2014; a follow up to the original game title Akiba’s Trip: Undead And Undressed was released worldwide to the kind of reception that justified the original game never leaving the shores of Japan. Still, despite what many critics said about this game, it quickly became a cult classic. The game then got a re-release for the PlayStation 4, originally being on the PlayStation Vita, and it once again saw a resurgence, albeit a slight one. Acquire, the developers and Japanese publishers of the game, saw how popular this game series was in it’s home country and have now decided, in the …

Busting Up Walls, Spinning On Poles – UPPERS’ New Previews Showoff Gameplay Mechanics

Have you ever felt lonely in a crowd? Well I know that feeling because, for me, it’s a constant. Why though? Is it because I cannot preserve worthwhile relationships with friends, family, or lovers? Is it because I feel as though I am the only individual left in this world full of carbon copies? Is it because I was stranded on a deserted island for a span of eight years and have still yet to get over my time there? No! That’s all wrong! Why would you even assume that! I feel utter loneliness because it seems as though I’m the only one really excited for Marvelous’ upcoming brawler title UPPERS. For a while there, it seemed as though this game was on the edge of being cancelled. From having new trailers released every couple of weeks, it went to not hearing about it for quite some time…and then the indefinite delay period came about. It was almost an utter tragedy for those of you out there like me who enjoy some juvenile delinquent action …

Senran Kagura’s Daidoji Joins The Male-Dominated Roster Of Uppers

Behind ever powerful man is an even more powerful woman preparing to lock said man in a sleeper hold, making him question his own mortality as he quickly, and sometimes quietly, goes for a long trip to sleep land the likes of which he may never return from. Uppers is an upcoming beat-em-up title developed and produced by the incredible video game development studio Marvelous who introduced the world to one of it’s, now, most popular brawler series’ Senran Kagura. Considering Uppers is being looked at like the cross gender equivalent of Senran Kagura, it only makes sense that one of the girls would make their way onto the roster, right? Well they have! During the first-print run of the game’s release, Daidoji will be added to the roster for free as a downloadable character. According to Marvelous, it seems as though Daidoji’s appearance on the Last Resort island is a cause of her extensive travel for the sake of training. While on the road one day looking for another exciting place to hone her skills, she …

Meet The Seven New Digimon Headed To Bandai Namco’s Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth

Bandai Namco Entertainment recently did the West a huge solid by releasing the incredibly popular PlayStation Vita title Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, this time on both it’s original console and on the PlayStation 4. Released in Japan quite some time ago, this game is not only a fantastic Digimon video game title, but simply a great Japanese role-playing game in general which brings a tear to my eye because I’ve been waiting for this title ever since it was first announced for Japan. Almost sixty hours in, I’m still finding more and more to do within the detailed realm of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth. Not only is there plenty to do within the game’s main story, but it also has an incredibly high number of side quests, making this one of the longer games I’ve played in recent times, but Bandai Namco Entertainment have been doing something to elongate our experience with this long-awaited game; they’ve been releasing free downloadable content that add more intriguing side missions to the game, and I’m not just talking …

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – PlayStation 4 Review

Chances are, if you’re reading this, you’re totally into Digimon, which is, like, the cutest because, FYI…Digimon is, like, totally into you too. It’s been many years since a proper Digimon video game was released in the West so, as you can imagine, us wannabe-DigiDestined are pretty excited to have this title in the palm of our hands. Finally. Now the reason I say “proper” Digimon video game is because the last Digimon title us Westerners got wasAll-Star Rumble and – I’m sorry about this, Bandai Namco Entertainment – but that game was a breathtaking flop. Thankfully, that has been entirely made up for with the release of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth; a Digimon game about crime, mystery, theDigital World, and a sexy lady in what looks to be just a button up business shirt. How could you possibly turn your attention away from that? The answer to that question: You can’t! Once again, I would like to thank Bandai Namco Entertainment not only for providing us with a copy of the new game for review, …

Romance Ladies, Beat On Dudes, And Fight For Glory – Uppers Debut Trailer Released

I’ve personally written many news pieces regarding the upcoming Marvelous brawler title Uppers because, well…seriously, if I have to explain it to you than it simply isn’t worth it anyway.  It’s a fighting video game developed by a bunch of developers who once worked on alternative beat em’ up titles like the Kenka Bancho series, overseen by the man behind Senran Kagura; Kenichiro Takaki. Uppers is a game about a man, you, and many other men brought to a mysterious island for the sake of entertainment, but what will you be doing to amuse crowds of blood-thirsty wealthy-types? Well…you’ll be beating each other to death, baby! That doesn’t mean you wont have time for romance though! There are plenty of eligible young ladies who’ve made their way to the island, and if years of martial arts discipline wont help you overcome your opponent, maybe getting close and comfortable with one of your lady-friends will give you the drive you need to survive. This upcoming PlayStation Vita title, because of its development team, is slowly but surely building …

One Piece: Burning Blood To Feature General Franky And X Drake

Yeah, I bet you didn’t expect these two One Piece characters to be featured on the roster of the upcoming fighting title One Piece: Burning Blood. So far, the most we’ve heard about this game is that it will feature realistic battles between Devil Fruit and Haki users, with those of the Logia type being able to make themselves invulnerable and those knowing how to use Haki being able to activate and shut said Logia users down, but never once was it mentioned that there would be gargantuan characters like X Drake and General Franky thrown into the mix. The latest issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump has just been released over in Japan, and between the pages of this much-loved weekly magazine lies this incredible news regarding the upcoming multi-platform fighter and it’s extended roster. The screenshots featured in the full-page spot shows X Drake in his Tyrannosaurus Rex form going head-to-head with the General Franky confirming that this game will at least have one large-scale battle between two damn big characters. X Drake has …

Superbeat: Xonic – Review

I know, it’s strange. Those of you who follow the site, and have done so for a while now, will know that we’re all about Japanese pop culture. It’s our thing, it’s what we do, and if you don’t mind me saying…we do it damn well. So to see a review like this on the site; one developed by Korean company Nurijoy, I understand that it can be quite startling, but we aim to please, and seeing as one of our loyal follows (@R0LAN65) has shown great interest in this title, and one of our review copy providers, Mindscape, offered it to us like they do many others, we simply couldn’t say no. Even if that wasn’t the case; Superbeat: Xonic is a rhythm game developed by a company with many years of musical experience, and they’ve, once again, created a video game that has gotten fans of the genre living all across the globe excite for what it has to offer. There’s no way we were going to let that slip by us. No way! Thank …

They’re Lovers And Fighters – New Kenka Bancho Title Has You Dating Juvenile Delinquents

Any avid reader of this here website will know that I have quite a big “thing” for anything related to the odd but interesting Japanese juvenile delinquent sub-culture. Characters like Jotaro Kujo from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, Tatsumi Oga from Beelzebub, Yusuke Urameshi from Yu Yu Hakusho, and many other characters from your favorite Anime, manga or Video Games all fall under that particular category. Now that you understand exactly what I’m talking about, I’d like to draw your attention to a video game series developed by Spike Chunsoft called Kenka Bancho. This series of brawler video game titles mostly got a Japan-exclusive release, apart from one sole Western traveler; a game called Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble, maybe some of you out there have heard of it. Well the same company that, in the past, made these incredible action titles have only just announced that they are adding another title to the long Kenka Bancho lineage, but it’s unlike any of the game that came before, this upcoming PlayStation Vita exclusive will not have …

Where There’s Fire, There’s Smoker – New Playable Character Announced For One Piece: Burning Blood

Do me a favour, I need help proving something; go ahead and ask any One Piece fan who their favorite character is. Chances are, they’re all going to be drastically different, of course, but I have a sneaking suspicious they’ll all mention Smoker at least once during the conversation because, well…he’s Smoker. There’s a new One Piece game on the horizon, and this time it’s not being developed by Omega Force which means it’s not going to be another Pirate Warriors title! Wahoo! One Piece: Burning Blood was announced by Bandai Namco Entertainment recently and already it has been confirmed to be making it’s way to the West next year. Despite that, there’s not a great deal we know about this upcoming fighting game; we know that it won’t be like previously released One Piece titles, and we know that the gameplay mechanics will have a great deal to do with Haki and Logia users. If you don’t know what those two things are, I think you may be in the wrong place. V-Jump, a Japanese …

No Time To Be Down – New Batch of “Uppers” Screenshots Posted Online

By now you should know that I’m incredibly excited for the upcoming beat ’em up title by Marvelous; Uppers. Honestly, how could I not like this game? It’s being developed by the team that brought you the Kenka Bancho series, it’s being published by a company that knows what a good video game looks like, and it’s being produced by the man who brought us the titillating series Senran Kagura. If you’re not excited for this video game I honestly think something may be wrong with you. Like, not your personality, maybe you’ve been brainwashed or something, I don’t know, just figure it out before it is too late! Last week saw the release of the upcoming brawler’s very first batch of screenshots which, as you probably already know, are freaking awesome! Well, the Japanese video game website Gamer have been given the great honour of being the first to be able to post the new batch of screenshots which simply show off more of what we’ve already heard about through previous press releases. You …

Marvelous Announces Kenichiro Takaki’s Newest Video game Masterpiece: “Uppers”

You’ve all heard of the video game series Senran Kagura, right? If not; it’s a basically a bunch of games produced by this one guy, Kenichiro Takaki, that feature sexy Ninja babes ripping each others clothes off and just being generally, well…seductive. Now Senran Kagura is immeasurably popular, though not for all video game fans, it is a series that features great mechanics as well as some interesting visuals, if you know what I’m talking about. Well producer Kenichiro Takaki, and video game development studio Marvelous, have decided that raunchy fist fights aren’t just for the ladies and have gone ahead and announced their upcoming brawler title Uppers. Uppers is a PlayStation Vita game that will, supposedly, make the monotony of your basic Beat ’em Up title seem amazing! Producer, once again, by Kenichiro Takaki, this game is said to feature an all-male cast of thugs who have been brought to a remote island wherein which they’re forced to fight for the entertainment of those lucky enough to be a part of the crowd and …

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Set To Be Released In North America This February

Here we go, we’ve finally got a date courtesy of Bandai Namco Entertainment who’ve today announced that the upcoming PlayStation Vita/PlayStation 4 exclusive Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is set to hit local shelves across North America on the 2nd of February next year. Up until this point in time, all we knew about the release of this game is that it was going to be made available sometime in 2016, which seems so far away despite the fact that 2015 is quickly coming to an end. Bandai Namco Entertainment announced alongside the release date that Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth’s PlayStation 4 version will be made available both digitally and physically, with the physical version coming with some exciting pre-order bonuses that include a couple of costumes for the main character’s Agumon, a set of items thrown together to help the player out during the beginning of the game, with additional Digimon partners like BlackAgumon, BlackGabumon, Beelzemon, and Cherubimon. Unfortunately the PlayStation Vita version of the game will only be getting a digital release therefor you cannot …

Feelin’ Hot Hot Hot – One Piece: Burning Blood Hits The West In 2016

This is news regarding an upcoming One Piece video game so, chances are, you’ve already heard everything you possibly could’ve about it. That’s just the way promotion works for new titles based on this highly-popular Shonen Jump series. Only recently, Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed the Spike Chunsoft-developed One Piece: Burning Blood, announcing that it will not only be getting a release across Japan but also throughout the West. What we, the pop culture-loving people, were not told was WHEN we would be seeing this title hit local shelves, and today…that’s exactly what Bandai Namco have announced. Lacking specifics, One Piece: Burning Blood is confirmed to be released in the West sometime in 2016 for not only the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, but also for the Xbox One, making it the first One Piece video game title to cross the console border, previously only being released on Sony systems. Burning Blood will be unlike all the other One Piece video game titles that have come before it, rather than playing as a single character against …

Seraph Of The End: The Origin Of Fate To Hit Japan This December

A Manga series, an Anime adaptation, and now a video game. Seraph Of The End truly has it all, thanks to it’s droves of fans making it one of the more popular Shonen Jump titles of the new generation. Despite my aversion to the Anime adaptation that aired only last season, I couldn’t help but imagine that it wouldn’t be too long until the world will be seeing a video game based on the events of the series, and here we are. Revealed a while ago but only now confirmed for an official release date, the upcoming PlayStation Vita title Seraph Of The End: The Origin Of Fate puts players in the shoes of the series’ main character cast as they battle through the story in what we’re being told will be a “dramatical tactical battle” title. Unfortunately not much regarding the game has actually been seen, bar a few screenshots that give nothing away, but from the description given by Bandai Namco Entertainment it’s supposed to be a well-made tactical role-playing game with a …

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Kyoko Kuremi Story Overview Trailer Released

The fact that Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth has already been released over in Japan hasn’t stopped Bandai Namco Entertainment from promoting it across the rest of the world. Tokyo Game Show 2015 has only just begun and already we’re catching wind of some amazing new video game announcements and updates. One of the more exciting ones is the new trailer for the upcoming PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4 title Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth which is, surprisingly, making it’s way to the West sometime in 2016. Narrated by Cyber Detective Kyoko Kuremi, the trailer’s dialogue is spoken entirely in English and goes on to detail the game’s story; something we’ve seen time and time again in Japanese trailers but never in English. While the trailer doesn’t exactly show anything new about the game, the fact that it was put together just for Western audiences really drives home the point that this game is indeed on it’s way to local shelves. Tokyo Game Show 2015 has only just begun so there’s still plenty of amazing video game …

It’s A Dog Beat Dog World – Killing Bites Tokyo Game Show 2015 Trailer Released

With Tokyo Game Show 2015 well underway, you would not be faulted for expecting a few trailers to see a release. I especially won’t fault you considering that a new trailer is exactly what I am here to talk about. This time around, say hello to Killing Bites. From what was shown, the game centres around some lovely hybrid ladies, who bring some animalistic elements to some kind of fight. Though I’m not exactly sure if they’re fighting each other, or the more complete bestial characters that also exist (such as the wolf seen in the trailer), you can be damn sure that they’ll fight…in one way or another. Ok, so this was one of those cinematic trailers that introduced the idea of a game without actually showing the content. But, popular or not, it is a style of advertisement that has become commonplace in the video game industry. But I digress, at the very least, Killing Bites looks interesting enough to warrant looking a gameplay trailer, whenever it releases. So…that all sounded pretty negative …

Digimon World: Next Order – Tokyo Game Show 2015 Trailer

Tokyo Game Show 2015 has only just begun, but it has done so in quite an explosive way. Japanese pop culture fans know TGS as one of the better video game expos of our generation and there’s a huge reason why; some of the most exciting stuff comes out of it, including the latest trailer for Bandai Namco Entertainment’s upcoming PlayStation Vita title Digimon World: Next Order, stylised as “Next -0rder-“. Running just a little over two minutes long, the trailer showcases what it will be like playing as both the male and female protagonists, with the male having Agumon and Gabumon as his digital companions, and the female having Biyomon and Palmon. The trailer also gives audiences an extensive look at the world of Next Order with some nice throwbacks to the original Digimon World PlayStation 1 title. Set for a Japanese release on the PlayStation Vita sometime in 2016, nothing has been said by Bandai Namco Entertainment regarding a Western release; something that may actually never come. Either way, we have a fantastic …

The Despair Continues – Spike Chunsoft Announces Danganronpa V3

Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls has finally been released across the globe. Spike Chunsoft, the developers of the Danganronpa series of depressing but enjoyable video games, understand that the world has now been given the chance to thoroughly enjoy their last amazing title, but what they also understand is that, because it was so enjoyable…people want more of it. That is what makes the announcement of Danganronpa V3 at the Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia Press Conference so much sweeter! Yes! Danganronpa V3! The despair continues perpetually! Not much about the game was actually revealed at the conference. Although Spike Chunsoft did reveal a teaser trailer for the game…not much was said or shown. All Spike Chunsoft have told the world is that there’s going to be a new Danganronpa game set in a new school, and it will be released not only on the PlayStation Vita like it’s predecessors but also on the PlayStation 4. That is all. Regardless of the lack of information detailed to worldwide audience…I’m sure everyone interested in Danganronpa …

Bandai Namco Entertainment Announces One Piece: Burning Blood

About a week or so ago, I wrote an article regarding Bandai Namco Entertainment and their licensing of a video game name that went by the name Burning Blood. In this article I compared the name to that of the Japanese delinquent fight game Crows: Burning Edge, stating that there was a possibility that the company plan on bringing said game to the West under a new title. As it turns out…I’m dead wrong. The name Burning Blood actually belongs to a brand-new One Piece fighting game set to be released for the PlayStation Vita and the PlayStation 4. How do I know this now? Well Bandai Namco Entertainment announced this alongside a trailer for the upcoming One Piece game at this year’s Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia Press conference. Not much is known about this One Piece game, as of right now, but by judging by the trailer it looks as though it will focus heavily on the adoptive brothers Luffy, Ace, and Sabo; each of which being heavily present showing off their fierce fighting …

Female Protagonist Revealed For Digimon World -Next 0rder-

Yes, back when the Digimon line of virtual pets were first released they were marketed towards young boys, but it’s now 2015 and a lot has changed between then and now. Not too long ago, Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed their next Digimon video game title, Digimon World -Next 0rder-, for the PlayStation Vita and since it’s reveal we really havn’t gotten much in terms of extensive information. Yeah, Bandai Namco Entertainment released a teaser trailer and some fairly uninteresting screenshots, but that’s about it…until now. The latest issue of Shueisha’s V-Jump magazine features a nice spread revolving around the new game that has introduced audiences to it’s Female protagonist; a young girl named Shiki. Like a lot contemporary additions to game series’ of this type (Pokemon, Yo-Kai Watch, Etc.), Digimon World -Next 0rder- will too allow you to choose between a Male and Female protagonist, both of which are looking damn funky! Also revealed in the magazine is another character from the upcoming game who you’re NOT in control of. Kota Hirose is another young …

Another Reminder – Teaser Trailer Released For Omega Force’s Attack On Titan Game

On that day, mankind received a grim reminder…and since that day we’ve been reminded time and time again that Attack On Titan is one of the modern age’s most popular Anime series’, that’s why a brand-new game based on the horrifyingly gory series has just been announced. Now I’m sure you’ve all played the already-released Attack On Titan video game Humanity In Chains, right? No? Seriously? You at least know about it then. Surely. It was released exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS not too long ago and was met with a mediocre response. Yeah…not many people liked it, unfortunately. I guess that’s why developers Omega Force have decided to try their hand and making an enjoyable Attack On Titan game. The upcoming game, which was teased about two days ago to then be swiftly confirmed today, will hit shelves sometime in 2016. At least, that’s what Koei Tecmo America have assured the pop culture world. The game doesn’t even have an official title, yet we have a release year. Something is a little fishy about all this, …

It’s Time We Head Back – First Trailer Released For Digimon World: Next Order

My experience with the original Digimon World video game is that of an odd one: I never had a PlayStation therefor I never owned the game, but my next door neighbour had both and, as a fan of the series, you could imagine I spent most of my time there playing it…but I had no idea what I was doing. Battles were impossible for me, my Digimon would constantly die, the town wouldn’t expand, it was a video game that was simply too difficult for my tiny brain to comprehend and yet I stuck with it for so long. Bandai Namco Entertainment Japan recently revealed that there is a brand-new Digimon World video game on the horizon; Digimon World: Next Order. When I first heard of the news I simply thoughts this was just another Digimon game that would fail to reach Western shores and therefor only work to disappoint me; a huge fan of the Digimon franchise. Bandai Namco Entertainment North America and Europe recently announced that they will be bringing the previous PlayStation Vita …

New PlayStation Vita Title Digimon World: Next Order Just Announced

No! No! This just isn’t fair! It seems like every single time the West gets even a little closer to Japan…they engage rocket boosters and speed off into the distance. Since the announcement of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, Western fans of the franchise have longed to get their hands on it. Finally, a Digimon game for the older fan! Bandai Namco Entertainment throws us a bone and announces that the game will indeed be coming to the West on both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, albeit next year some time. Not a month after that, we’re hearing word of a brand-new Digimon game that’s in development; one called Digimon World: Next Order. The latest issue of Japan’s V-Jump magazine featured a two page spread regarding the new title yet, despite that, not a great deal of information on the game’s story or setting was revealed. What we know of the game is that it will centre around a young Digimon fanatic who’s two partners are Agumon and Gabumon, possibly meaning that the appearance of …

Sick Of Minecraft? Let Me Introduce You To Dragon Quest Builders!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past half a decade, you’d know exactly what Minecraft is and exactly how damn popular the video game has become. What started off as this strange indie title wherein which players can deconstruct then reconstruct the world around them quickly became a reason for people of all ages to never leave their personal computers. Not only that, but it is a game that launched a thousand YouTube careers. Long story short; it’s a very popular game…but so is Dragon Quest. What does Dragon Quest have to do with Minecraft? Well, before today, not a great deal, but Square Enix have just announced their new Dragon Quest title and it’s very similar to the low-resolution, block-building game we’ve all come to know and love. It’s called Dragon Quest Builders and it has been labelled a “block-building RPG“. So far only one screenshot of the game has been released and it honestly just looks like Minecraft with a Dragon Quest-themed modification which could honestly be exactly what Square Enix …

Digi-Prayers Answered – Bandai Namco Announces Western Release Of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth

I woke up in a pretty good mood today but it has now been multiplied by a million thanks to some news straight from Bandai Namco Entertainment’s RPG panel at Anime Expo 2015 regarding the Western localisation of a Digimon video game that fans have been waiting for ever since they first dreamed of a more mature piece of Digital Monsters media. The game is called Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, and it revolves around a young man or women, depending on your choice, who must travel between the real world and the Digital World in order to uncover the secrets behind a mysterious virus that’s spreading from human to human causing sickness and death. Of course, there to help are a whole bunch of Digimon who you’ll have to befriend, raise, train, and evolve in order to restore balance and retain peace in both worlds. Canada’s Amazon portal recently listed this Adventure/RPG as a PlayStation 4 title and fans finally found a shred of hope. Now, thanks to Bandai Namco Entertainment’s panel, we’ve been given something solid …

Seraph Of The End: The Origin Of Fate PlayStation Vita RPG Announced

Maybe you’re similar to me and were left with a bad taste in your mouth courtesy of the Seraph Of The End’s Anime season finale, or maybe you’re a die-hard fan of both the Manga as well as it’s Anime adaptation who is writing me a death threat letter as you’re reading this. Either way, chances are you’re at least slightly interested in a recent announcement by Bandai Namco Entertainment pertaining to the hit series and it’s upcoming PlayStation Vita video game. Announced through the latest issue of Jump SQ magazine over in Japan, Seraph Of The End: The Origin Of Fate is a mostly mysterious tactical role-playing game that will put you in the shoes of the series’ main character cast. As supernatural soldiers, your task will be to eliminate the scourge of Vampire’s who’ve called a majority of the known world their home and sent the human race into an Attack On Titan-esque way of defensive living; mostly behind big walls guarded by heavily-armed military men and women. Apart from the game being …

Could Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Really Be Coming To The West?

The 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo is now more or less over for the year. Fans were rocked by some incredible announcements and left unimpressed by others; much like the expo from last year, the year before, and every other one prior to that. It’s simply how these things go. Bandai Namco Games really brought their A-Game this year by announcing Dark Souls 3, alongside some other big titles, but one of the video games fans were hoping to hear about was simply not mentioned at all. That game is the PlayStation Vita’s own Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth; a Digimon video game made for the generation that grew alongside the franchise from conception to current times. This RPG title has been in the hearts and minds of the fans ever since it was announced and it will continue to stay that way until it is firmly in our hands. Well although it wasn’t spoken about at E3, it seems as though Amazon Canada want people in a bit of a fact-finding frenzy seeing as they’ve listed …

Despair Is Only Months Away – Danganronpa: Another Episode Hits The West This September

Are you ready to feel absolute despair? Too bad! NIS America has today announced that the upcoming PlayStation Vita title Danganronpa: Another Episode – Ultra Despair Girls is set to hit the West this September. Yes, the publisher/developer has revealed the official release dates for both Europe and North America today, and they’re a great deal closer than you would have imagined. On the 1st of September the game will be made available in North America and on the 4th it will be made available in Europe. September 2015 is officially despair month seeing as most of the people playing the game aren’t going to be feeling anything but depression until they finish this twisted title. Different to the mainstream Danganronpa titles, Another Episode is not the courtroom simulator you think it is, in fact, it’s the total opposite. This new game takes players on a wild third-person shooter adventure set in a time wherein which the apocalypse has come about and the Earth is now ruled by those who worship despair. Your mission? Well, …

Mighty Things, Small Packages – Mighty No. 9 Signature Edition Announced

Overnight, Comcept and Deep Silver who’re now the publishers of Keiji Inafune’s attempt to revive Mega Man announced an interesting special edition pack for their upcoming title Mighty No. 9. For the longest time we had heard no word regarding this modern day side-scroller and then all of the sudden we’re given this; the Mighty No. 9 – Signature Edition which comes packed with a copy of the vidro game, a 6.5 inch figurine of Beck himself, and a replica of Keiji Inafune’s signature which will be placed on the box of the pack. The most exciting feature of this Signature Edition would have to be the posable figure of Beck which not only stands at a pretty nice 6.5 inches tall, as mentioned, but also comes with three interchangeable faceplates to match your mood. The awesome thing about this edition as a whole is that it will only set buyers back about $60, but you’ll have to investigatw local video game retailers just to make. Prices change all over the world. The price of …

Keep Friends Close And Enemies Closer – Lost Dimension Hits Australia/New Zealand In August

In Francis Ford Coppola’s film sequel The Godfather: Part II, Al Pacino’s character Michael Corleone speaks the all so true words “keep your friends close and your enemies closer“. This saying has been passed down throughout recent history as something of a mystical saying, often being attributed to military strategist Sun Tzu who you may know wrote the book The Art Of War. This…is not true. It is simply a line from the movie The Godfather and although it is only this, it does indeed have some worldly truth. In the upcoming tactical RPG Lost Dimension players will fill the shoes of a psychic working within a sub-government agency called S.H.E.I.L.D whose only goal is Earthly defence from enemies of immeasurable power. Too bad one of your very own teammates is a traitor, too bad you don’t know which one. The upcoming PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita title developed by Lancarse and published by NIS America, is one of the more exciting video games of this year thanks to its interesting gameplay that, mixes both action, RPG and …

Good Grief – NIS America Reveals Danganronpa: Another Episode Limited Edition Pack

The Danganronpa series of despair-inducing video games is all about gruesome murders, heart-pounding trials, and watching the people you’ve come to call friends slowly betray you in every single way they possibly can…so why the hell are we always so excited for another game in the series to come out? All it ever does is bring is pain, but I guess it’s that good kind of pain, the one you feel when you get punched in the face by someone you love; it hurts a whole bunch but you still love them so you let it slide. NIS America have today revealed the Limited Edition pack for the upcoming Danganronpa Spin-off Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls which takes a nice break from the usual court-based gameplay of your standard Danganronpa game and replaces it with some pretty rad-looking third person shooter mechanics. It’s kind of hard to hate that right? Look, you should know about all this already because it was announced a long time ago and ever since then Nippon ichi Software have delivered …

J-Stars Victory Vs+ – Toriko, And Reborn! Vs Rurouni Kenshin English Trailers Released

There’s nothing that can revitalise a love for something more than a well put-together video game trailer. Bandai Namco Games has today released two more English trailers for their upcoming crossover fighting title J-Stars Victroy Vs+, both of which make me want to sit down and engulf myself in what both modern day and past Shonen Jump has to offer. The first trailer features Toriko’s titular character facing up against his eternal rival Zebra in what is described as not only a quest for the perfect food but for the perfect battle. The second trailer spans across two series’; Reborn! and Rurouni Kenshin, both of which feature young protagonists who fight only for the sake of peace, but will battle each other because, well…J-Stars Victory Vs+ really has no rules! Fight to your heart’s content! These trailers look so great, they’ve made me want to go back and re-watch Reborn!, they’ve made me want to start reading Toriko, they’ve made me want to experience Rurouni Kenshin like many people before me already have. THAT’S the power …

El Psy Congroo – Steins;Gate Headed For Europe This June

I feel as though I wont be alone when I say that Steins;Gate is, in fact, the greatest time travel story of our generation. The most tragic thing about it is that most of our generation don’t even know what the hell it is, let alone just how emotional and complex the story can be. I first experienced this journey through time thanks to the Anime that was released a few years ago. Contrary to popular belief; this video game adaptation very much lived up to the game that preceded it and almost forced me into an interest in time travel and the legend that is John Titor. 5pb., the developers of the highly-revered title, today announced that the game will be making a return to consoles, this time in Europe. I’d like to say “this time in the West” but unfortunately until further notice…North America aren’t lucky enough to get it. Chances are the USA WILL be getting a Steins;Gate release but it’ll be a little dekayed thanks to submission problems that the publishers …

First Trailer Released For World Trigger: Borderless Mission

A while back, Bandai Namco Games revealed to the pop culture world that a PlayStation Vita game based on the semi-popular Shonen Jump Manga World Trigger was currently in production. Now, months later, with no more information than that revealed up until this point, Bandai Namco Games have released the very first trailer for the upcoming semi-open world action game which, seeing as how little information was previously revealed, can be also seen as something of a reveal trailer. The PlayStation Vita title will closely follow the story of the series, both Anime and Manga, and will have you controlling some of it’s more predominant characters. Judging only by the trailer, it seems as though a few different character types will be usable; from Snipers to Swordsmen. Though looking a little unpolished, I have to say I’m very much excited for the release of this game despite there being no word on whether it’s set for a Western localisation. Actually, at this point in time we don’t even know when it’s hitting Japan. Well…we know it’s …

Bandai Namco Games Announces “One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 – Doflamingo Edition”

Both Bandai Namco’s “One Piece: Pirate Warriors 1” and “One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2” were huge successes the world over. There are many people, some who aren’t even fans of Anime as a whole, that absolutely adore the adventures of Luffy and crew as they sail around the world of “One Piece” finding new enemies to defeat and new citizens to save. This is why the “One Piece” range of video games does so well! Bandai Namco knows this and because of just how well-received their games are, they always like to give their fans just a little bit more to enjoy with the release of a new title. You know that “One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3” is on the verge of being released but what you may not know is that Bandai Namco Games Australia have just announced both a special edition of the upcoming game as well as some pre-order bonuses one can nab just for getting in early. This special video game package is titled the “Doflamingo Edition” and, while obviously coming …

Keep Friends Close And Enemies Closer – “Lost Dimension” Is Headed To The West

The act of betrayal is as old as history itself. It dates all the way back to the time of Jesus Christ who was put to death thanks to the greedy nature of someone he considered quite a close friend. It’s no surprise that an act as dastardly as this has lasted so long and it seems as though the higher up the social ladder you climb the more likely it is to happen to you, or vice versa. The upcoming tactical RPG “Lost Dimension” knows about this all too well. Announced over night, this critically-acclaimed psychic-fueled title will be making it’s way across the pond to but the Americas and Europe alongside Australia and New Zealand. In the Americas, ATLUS will be handling the distribution but in Europe it will be NIS America who will be in charge. This interesting little title will have you fill the shoes of a psychic user who’s part of the team I mentioned just above. The crazy thing about this game that may eventually come to bite you …

Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart – Review

Anyone that’s ever touched a video game controller will know that the industry behind their favorite titles is one that is, for lack of a better term…cut-throat. Studios rise and fall each day, games get made, games get cancelled, games get good reviews and games get bad reviews. Some companies can gain high levels of popularity with one good title, others take years to attain even half of that fame. There are series’ that, while stale and now mostly unenjoyable, still stand tall at the very top of most “best seller” charts. The men and women behind the scenes are ruthless and will do most anything to have their game be received the best…sometimes that has nothing to do with actually making the game good. Money is made, money is lost and money is thrown around like it grows on trees. Look…what I’m getting at is that the video game industry is just as intense as the bosses featured in those games and it seems as though the only series OF video games that has …

Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Is Coming To The West!

Have you heard of this game, reader?! Surely you have! It’s this amazing crossover fighting game that brings together characters from a whole bunch of different Light Novels, some of which have been adapted into Anime series and others of which have never been released outside of Japan. That doesn’t seem to matter though because Sega has announced that it will definitely be coming to the West sometime this year for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita! You’ll be able to throw  down with characters like Kuroyukihime (Accel World), Kirito (Sword Art Online) and Rentaro (Black Bullet), but I’ll say without a shadow of a doubt that the character I’ll be playing as the most will absolutely be Shizuo from the very popular series “Durarara!!” which has just begun its second season. Though i have no idea who a great deal of these characters are, it doesn’t really matter! “Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax” is both a fighting game and a crossover title so, as long-time readers will know, that’s all I need to be …

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 – Luffy, Law, Doflamingo, Fujitora Gameplay Videos Released

Yo! By now you surely know that there’s another “One Piece” video game on the way right? Of course! The third in the series of “Pirate Warriors” brawlers is set for a release in both Japan and the West this year, and the Publishers of the upcoming title Bandai Namco Games have just released another set of gameplay trailers that each focus on a different character. This isn’t strange for Bandai Namco Games who are constantly giving the pop culture world pieces of pre-release media like screenshots and videos. “Pirate Warriors 3” will feature the same gameplay mechanics fans of the series have come to know and love but, for the sake of those who HAVE played all the games in the series, it will also feature some updated features so that the game doesn’t come across as boring. With a whole new character roster and some awesome-looking graphics, it’s a little hard to pass up what will hopefully be the best “One Piece” video game to date. There is no specific Western release date …

This New Batch of Screenshots Have Proven That One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Is Going To Rock!

Bandai Namco Games, like usually, have today done us all a pretty awesome solid. Like any good video game publisher they’ve gone ahead and released and amazingly huge batch of fresh screenshots from their upcoming PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita action/adventure game “One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3”. This series has only gotten better and better thanks to Bandai Namco’s ability to listen to the fans of the games and these new screenshots SHOULD prove to you that the new title is going to be one of the most memorable “One Piece” games of all time. Not only does it have an outstanding playable character roster, it also happens to feature most (if not all) of the “One Piece” story for you to play through as well as some of the best graphics we’ve seen in a “One Piece” game to date. Alongside some high resolution screenshots, Bandai Namco Games also released a few key character visuals to burn into your retinas. “Pirate Warriors 3” is set for a release in Japan this March on …

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Get It Early And Nab Yourself An Omnimon Zwart…Eventually

There’s this awesome new trend in the video game industry where publishers and developers will offer certain bonuses to people in the world who pre-order one of their titles or who buy it as quickly as they possibly can. We call these “Day One Bonuses”, “Pre-Order Bonuses” and other variations of that because, well…that’s exactly what they are. Most games will offer quick buyers some sort of reward for doing so like an alternate costume for the main character, some powerful weapons to put you ahead of the game or even some new levels to play through. Either way, it’s all a marketing campaign to get people to buy the game straight away and, as long as they’re giving me free stuff, I couldn’t care less. Bandai Namco Games Japan (soon to be Bandai Namco Entertainment) announced that their upcoming PlayStation Vita title “Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth” is going to have its very own “Day One Edition” which gifts players two extra Digimon to add to their team at the start of the game: Black …

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Is The Game We’ve Always Wanted And The New Trailer Proves It

So Japan are getting themselves a new game in the March of next year. Maybe you’ve heard of it; it’s called “Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth” and it features everything a long-time “Digimon” fan like myself could have ever asked for. Not only is it a contemporary “Digimon” video game (which is enough to get anybody excited) but it also plays host to some of the most awesome graphics I’ve ever seen in a franchise title as well as some of my favorite “Digimon” of all time. It also helps that it is a PlayStation Vita game, of which I happen to be a huge fanboy. Well Bandai Namco Games Japan have today released a new trailer for the upcoming game that goes for a whopping five minutes and basically outlines, in video form, all the information we’ve been delivered over the past few months in written form only. For those of you who’ve been living under a rock, or something large and solid similar to a rock: “Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth” follows a young hero, male or …

Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy Announced For A North American/European Release

When you do something great, it’s stupid for you to stop doing those things to start doing something else. The great Renaissance artist Michelangelo didn’t stop painting and instead begin making music. No…he became a Ninja Turtle but that was much later in his life. What I’m saying is that you should stick to what you’ve mastered and the team over at Experience Inc. are living up to their name and using that experience to, once again, bring us another great dungeon-crawling RPG and it goes by the name “Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy”. You may have heard of these guys and gals if you’re familiar with the recent PlayStation Vita title “Demon Gaze”. Well Experience Inc. made that and now they’ve developed “OA: New Tokyo Legacy” with, thanks to NIS America, will be hitting North American and European shelves in the Spring of 2015 exclusively for the PlayStation Vita. NIS are trying to dominate the gaming market of 2015 and I cannot complain at all, but when it comes to explaining just why it is …

Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX!!!! – Review

Oh I love me some fighting games! I’m not that good at them but, for some reason, I continuously find myself attracted to them. I stop to look at the case of the latest “Street Fighter” and “Tekken” games even though I know I wont play them nearly as much as I think will. I also happen to love incredibly niche and semi-unheard of Japanese games that only I, three other Western gamers, and a hundred thousand Japanese arcade-goers know of. Good or bad, I love tackling these games. If they’re bad I can just blame the development crew, if they’re good I can pretend I “discovered” the game and I’ll talk about it until my friends kick me out of what will probably be a moving car. “Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX!!!!” was released originally as an arcade game in Japan and then subsequently on home consoles. Well, it’s now reached the West despite the previous titles in the series ever doing the same and, thanks to our wonderful contacts, I’ve been given the …

Tales Of Hearts R – Review

The “Tales Of” series of video games have been around for quite some time. Like “Dragon Quest” and “Final Fantasy”, every once in a while we’re graced with just another fantastic title to add to the already extensive list of “Tales Of” video games. Each time, the games come packed with more than the last and works to excite long time fans of the series and recruit some rookies who’ll soon find themselves masters of the “Tales”. The latest release of the franchise is a remake of a Nintendo DS game titled “Tales Of Hearts R”. Developed and published by the wonderful Bandai Namco Games, “Tales Of Hearts R” hits the PlayStation Vita with full force. Thanks to Bandai Namco Games, us here at SnapThirty have been given the chance to review this new game. I’m going to try and figure out just why it is that this particular “Tales Of” title deserves to land itself a remake. Follow me on our very own tale as we hack, slash and level our way through “Tales …

Good Smile Company Announces “Freedom Wars” Beatrice Nendoroid Figure

Yeah, “Freedom Wars” is kind of a stressful game. I know that’s what you were all thinking when you read the title of the article. It’s one the latest and greatest PlayStation Vita titles to be released and it’s making huge waves around the world thanks to just how damn good of a game it is. You can read my review of it by Clicking Here. It’s getting so popular, in fact, that just today Good Smile Company announced through their official blog that they have developed a Beatrice “Lilly” Anastasi Nendoroid figure that will go up for sale sometime in the near future. For those who’ve not played the game; Beatrice is a pivotal character that you as the main character must protect throughout the game. Her life means the difference between prosperity and destruction, and now she’s a cute little figurine for you to have on your desk or on your shelf! So kawaii, right!? Yes, nothing says “let’s fight for our lives” like a cute blonde girl with a smile on her …

“Durarara!! Relay” PlayStation Vita Game Gets Its First Trailer

Never have I heard someone say “Oh yeah, I think maybe I’ve seen TOO much Durarara!!”. Never! Those words simply do not make sense in sequence because, really, you can never have TOO much “Durarara!!” which is great because today Kadokawa Games have released the very first trailer for the upcoming visual novel/adventure title “Durarara!! Relay”. This new PlayStation Vita game will take audiences on a wild ride through the busy streets of Ikebukuro, allowing them to experience some of the wonderful city’s stories, the types of stories not seen in the Anime but, from what I can tell, are all very much “canon” to the universe of the series. As a player, you’ll follow a whole bunch of your favorite characters as the dash around town getting into all sorts of trouble and trying to figure their way out of it. So far, the game has only been announced for Japan but I can imagine all “Durarara!!” fans hoping and praying for a release outside of the great country. “Durarara!! Relay” is set to …

Turn Your PlayStation TV Into A Portable Console With The New DekaVita7…Or Just Buy A PS Vita

I wouldn’t usually write about something like this but, as it turns out, I’m in quite a silly mood and seeing this new item made me chuckle to myself quite a bit. We all know what the PlayStation Vita is, right? It’s a portable console that is currently serving as Sony’s middle child who isn’t quite as good as it’s older sibling and is better than its younger sibling but is getting no attention for it, therefor leaving it in a state of absolute limbo. If you’re a reader of the site who’s constantly reading you’ll know that I happen to love the PlayStation Vita. As of right now, it’s my favorite console, hands down. When I first heard about the PlayStation TV or PlayStation Vita TV, a small system that allows you to play Vita games on your television, you can probably imagine I was quite interested in it. Imagine playing games like “Freedom Wars” or “Persona 4 Golden” on a huge screen, that would be pretty damn sweet. The PlayStation TV just got …

Freedom Wars – Review

I think it’s pretty safe to say that the PlayStation Vita, at this point in time, isn’t as popular as the West thought it was going to be back when it was first released. That’s not to say that the system itself is bad or that the games released for it aren’t enjoyable, in fact, out of all the consoles I have now the PlayStation Vita would have to be my favorite. Despite this being one of Sony’s own consoles in circulation during the same time as the PlayStation 3 and 4, the technological juggernaut seems as though it’s simply refusing to put any effort into advertising outside of Japan just how great the Vita is. Many games released for the handheld are niche titles that don’t get that much attention outside of their country of origin this is where we see a steep decrease in interest. In Japan, the Vita is still considered one of the members of the royal gaming family. Unfortunately, it’s not the same case in the West but I think …

“Let’s Manga” Is Set For A Release In Japan Next Month

This is a video game/application that is quite close to my heart. Why? Well, half because I’ve always wanted to be a Manga/Comic Book artist and half because I don’t quite understand how something like this will work on the PlayStation Vita handheld system. Basically; “Let’s Manga” is a game/application that allows PlayStation Vita owners to create their own manga series from scratch starting from a set of blank panels and eventually leading into what I assume will be an entire volume. That is, if you can survive the arduous task of a full-time illustrator. Granzella, a young video game developer native to Japan, announced this game a long time ago and in a month it will be released. It’s a download-only application so those of you wanting to get your hands on it will have to get it from the PlayStation Network but I’m sure you’re all fine with that. Now this November release is only for Japan but the game has already been confirmed to be heading outside of the great country, the …

The New “Sword Art Online: Lost Song” Trailer Introduces Audiences To Alfeim Online

A new adventure awaits for all you pseudo-MMO players out there! I’m sure, if you’re reading this, you’re fans of the ‘Sword Art Online’ series of light novels, Anime seasons and video games otherwise…why would you be here?! Fans of Anime will know exactly what is going on right now in the world of ‘SAO’: There’s a new Anime season, a new game for the PlayStation Vita was only just released and there’s one more on the way. Titled ‘Lost Song’, this game will take place in the world of ‘Alfeim Online’ which many of you may know was the place where the second half of the first series took place. Unfortunately, for many of the ‘SAO’ audience, it was the weaker of the many arcs but that doesn’t mean this game is going to be less enjoyable. Being handled by the same team who spearheaded the last ‘SAO’ game, ‘Hollow Fragment’, this game is set to introduce fans to a new combat and travel style. That’s right, this time Kirito and his friends have …

Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V Tag Force Special – Announced For The PlayStation Portable and Vita

It seems odd for a contemporary video game company to still be developing for older console models like the PlayStation Portable but I suppose stranger things have happened. It has just been announced through an early scan of Japan’s ‘V Jump’ magazine that a new ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ video game is set to be released this Winter for the PlayStation Portable and the PlayStation Vita. This game, titled ‘Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V Tag Force Special’, will bring together the much-loved protagonists of past and present ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ series’ for one huge battle royal. Not much regarding story has been divulged but one would assume that some sort of time and space overlap has caused all these heroes to come together to fight some greater evil…or not. Either way, I bet it’s going to be one hell of an awesome game especially because it will feature most, if not all, of the ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ cards currently in circulation. This means you’ll be able to use over seven thousand cards to construct and master your perfect deck. Specifically developed for the Portable, gamers …

Akiba’s Trip: Undead And Undressed – Review

A young man and a beautiful girl speed through the busy streets of Akihabara. The duo duck and dodge in and out of back alleys as the people they pass by holler words of encouragement. They’re being chased. Hunted, but not for long. They find the perfect battlefield: Somewhere not as populated as the main streets. Somewhere they can let loose. Somewhere they can fight without holding back. Somewhere they can strip to their hearts content. They call themselves the Akiba Freedom Fighters and the ones they battle, they’re an army of superhuman beings called Synthisters that have neatly woven themselves throughout mainstream Akihabara society and they need to be taken down. Now. In ‘Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed’ you play as, well…you. You’re the main character and, after applying for a dodgy-sounding job, you wake up to find that you’re no longer the same person you once were. Attacked by the people who imprisoned you, you’re saved by a young girl who seems to know of your situation. She saves you and explains that …

The latest issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump has introduced Japanese readers to a brand-new character who’s set to star alongside the protagonist of Bandai Namco’s upcoming PlayStation Vita title ‘Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth’. Unfortunately the only way we’ll be able to get this game is digitally seeing as it will not be released down here physically. That’s fine though because with a file size that’s just over 1500mb, there wont be one of you who’ll miss out due to a ‘lack of space’. Why are you still …

Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited – Review

A man only has two things in this world: His word and his balls. Any good man wouldn’t break either for anybody. That’s a lesson that I was originally taught by Al Pacino in his role as Tony Montana from the hit 80s film ‘Scarface’. Now, at the ripe old age of twenty, I’ve been given the chance to play the PlayStation Vita port ‘Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited’, a game that features a main character who just so happens to feel the same way as the Colombian drug lord himself. While Valvatorez the vampire doesn’t deal with narcotics, he was once called a tyrant…that was, until he made a promise to a young girl named Artina to never drink the blood of a human again. Being a demon doesn’t mean he has no morals. Valvatorez agreed and never again touched the sweet blood of a human being, teaching us that a promise is never to be broken. ‘Disgaea 4’ was originally released on the PlayStation 3 back in 2011 under the title ‘A Promise …

Bandai Namco Games Announce Captain Earth: Mind Labyrinth PlayStation Vita Game

Captain Earth, for those of you who aren’t ‘in the know’, is an Anime series that is currently airing in Japan. It’s story revolves around a team of young heroes, a majority of which have the ability to pilot their own huge robots which they then fly into space to defend Earth from other huge robots; something the Anime community has never seen before one hundred and fifty times. The leader of this small team, a boy named Daichi Manatsu, is THE Captain Earth, well…at least that’s what I refer to him as when I can’t quite remember his name. When a series about dueling mechs comes along, audiences can’t help but imagine being in control of their very own fighting robot. Bandai Namco Games have just announced that they will be releasing a PlayStation Vita game based on the highly-popular Anime series on the 26th of February next year in Japan. It’s titled, as you have already seen, ‘Captain Earth: Mind Labyrinth’ and will feature the gameplay mechanics of a…visual novel…so, there’s not going …

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Fear The Eden Syndrome!

‘Digimon’ shouldn’t be the only thing a human is scared of, especially when they’re living in the world of ‘Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth’ where a digital disease is more damaging than any metallic monster you’d see wandering the net. Being a ‘Digidestined’ used to be easy: A beam of benevolent light would shine down upon you, a small device would appear in your hand and you’d eventually find a digi-pal to hang with while you battle the forces of evil…That’s not so much the case in the upcoming PlayStation Vita exclusive. 4Gamers, the Japanese online publication, today updated their site to include a bunch of extra information regarding the upcoming game, most of which happens to revolve around this strange new disease and a monochromatic character you’ll meet while investigating. Heading into cyberspace in ‘Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth’ is actually quite bad for your health, so check yourself before you digi-wreck yourself. Those who have come into contact with ‘Digimon’ and are constantly coming back and forth between the real world and what is …

Time To Set Sail Once Again! One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Announced

It was only a matter of time before we’d be hearing this news. Bandai Namco Games alongside their ‘Pirate Warriors’ partners Tecmo Koei Games have just announced their next big ‘One Piece’ video game title ‘One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3’. Yahoo! This news is fantastic and comes as quite a surprise seeing as the Tokyo Game Show is coming up and this writer would have thought they’d have announced it there. One thing we’re keeping up hopes for is that they take the chance to reveal more information about the game at the upcoming video game expo which, considering Bandai Namco and Tecmo Koei’s past experiences, I’m sure they’ll absolutely do! ‘Pirate Warriors 3’ will continue on the same vein as the other two games as it retells the ‘One Piece’ story through mind blowing CG animation and some of the best brawling you’ll find in a contemporary game. The previous game (‘Pirate Warriors 2’) had a heck of a character roster so one can only assume that the new roster will be bigger and …

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment Review

SWORDS! They’re so exciting! I’ve never used one before and, chances are, I’ll never use them at all. Why? Because, contrary to popular belief, I’m actually not a Samurai…though I want to be so bad. I instead rely on video game characters to do all of my sword wielding. Like most gamers I live vicariously through the characters I create on-screen. ‘Sword Art Online’, the highly popular Anime/Light Novel series, begs audiences to think about how they would go about living within a game world where death in the game means death in reality. In the PlayStation Vita title ‘Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment’, players are put into the virtual shoes of series hero Kazuto Kirigaya or ‘Kirito’ as he prefers to be called. Mostly following the story of the first half of the Anime series, the game features all of the characters fans have grown to know and love but also features a storyline that does it’s best to expand on the ‘SAO’ universe. Players can chose to follow the main story which basically …

Not A Fan Of Fighting? That’s OK! ‘Danganronpa: Another Episode’ Has Got You Covered!

Allow me to start off by saying; I actually know a couple of people who enjoy video games but don’t enjoy video game combat, so it makes sense that some people out there would just rather experience a story instead of unnecessarily slaughtering waves and waves of enemies. Me? Well…I’m a little different, violence is kind of my thing. The upcoming video game spinoff title ‘Danganronpa: Another Episode’ recently got a bit more interesting with Spike Chunsoft releasing information regarding a couple of the game’s difficulty settings. The most intriguing of the trio would have to be the easiest mode that allows for players to take a non-combat approach to the game. In ‘Genocide Mode’, players will be able summon the insane Genocider Jill who you may remember from the first ‘Danganronpa’ game. Good ol’ Genocider will jump out of nowhere and carve up all the enemies in your path allowing you to stroll on through the beautiful environments until you reach a cutscene. This can be done approximately infinity times throughout the game, also…there’s …

NIS America Releases A New Batch Of ‘Natural Doctrine’ Screenshots

There’s nothing more frustrating than a video game you cannot win. It’s games like ‘Dark Souls’ that I avoid and, up until recently, I’ve been very excited to get my hands on NIS America’s upcoming tactical RPG ‘Natural Doctrine’, that is…until I found out the two games were quite similar. That’s OK though because my resolve is fiery and I’m going to tackle ‘Natural Doctrine’ as best I can alongside all my gamer brothers and sisters! NIS America have gone ahead today and released a bunch of brand-new screenshots for the game that basically show the more detailed and intricate aspects of gameplay. The images may look daunting but we’re assured that the game is going to be as brilliant an experience as it possibly can and a lot of people are going to finish it with smiles on their faces and a new found love for RPGs in their hearts. Alongside the new screenshots, NIS America also released a trailer for ‘Natural Doctrine’ of which we’ve also provided below just under the small gallery …

Start Talkin’! New ‘Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair’ Screenshots Released

Life is fickle. One day you could be enjoying a normal teenage life, the next day you could be locked in a seemingly unknown environment, forced to deal with murder after murder slowly spiraling into a state of anxiety, depression and overall sadness…it’s not likely but it is, I guess, kind of possible. Maybe. Regardless, it is the bonds you form with others around you that make life what it is, so luckily for someone stuck in a situation like what I previously described, there will be plenty of people alongside you to hopefully make friends with. That is…up until they decide to try and kill you. NIS America have today released a brand-new batch of ‘Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair’ screenshots that showcase some of the in-game conversations you’ll be having with other, let’s call them, inmates. ‘Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair’ is set for a North American release on the 2nd of September with a release across Europe to follow closely after that on the 5th of September. ‘Danganronpa 2′ is looking to be one …

NIS America is on a video game releasing roll that just wont seem to stop! After just announcing that they will be bringing ‘Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX!!!!’ and ‘Under Night In-Birth EXE:Late’ to Europe in the near future, one would think they’d retire for the day but they haven’t! North America To Get A PS4 Release Of “Akiba’s Trip: Undead And Undressed”

Ohohoho! What do we have here? A saucy little update on the upcoming action/adventure sequel “Akiba’s Strip: Undead and Undressed” that has the game supposedly hitting the PlayStation 4 in North America like it has already done in Japan. This…is…fantastic! Originally the game was just announced to be getting a release on both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita which isn’t at all a bad thing, we were just glad to be getting it, but now it has been revealed that North America too will be able to play this ultra sexy, ultra stylish game in it’s full HD glory on the PlayStation 4. If you’ve no idea what this game is, allow me to explain: You play as a young man named Nanashi who has recently been…killed. Well not killed, it’s more like he’s become a zombie but not the type of zombie you see in cheesy 80s films, he’s kind of just no longer alive, yet still kind of alive. It’s a little confusing but bare with me as we hack and slash …

Europe To Get a Retail Release Of “Freedom Wars”

Originally announced as only getting a digital PlayStation Network release in Europe, Sony Computer Entertainment has come out today and announced that ‘Freedom Wars’ will be getting a retail release outside of Japan. European gamers, now you can have ‘Freedom Wars’ on your shelves next to all the other fantastic PlayStation Vita video game covers. The game will still be hitting Europe digitally for those of you who prefer to keep each and every one of your games on the console but will now also be literally hitting local shelves. This is all thanks to a high amount of public interest. Fred Dutton, SCEE Blog Manager, announced this particular piece of news by referring to the large amount of people voicing their opinions on the previously digital-only release for the game. Mr. Dutton stated that there are many gamers outside of Japan that would love to see this game physically and, well…Sony Computer Entertainment see’s what the people want and gives it too them. Clearly. Sony has yet to announce a Western release date for …

Freedom Wars – Update Details Released

Do you remember a couple of weeks ago when certain news regarding Japanese gamers finding ‘Freedom Wars’ too hard was floating around the web? Do you remember when video game producer Junichi Yoshizawa came out and said that the development team were currently working on an update to fix the difficulty problem? You do?! Well it doesn’t actually matter because this update has absolutely nothing to do with the aforementioned bug. Japan’s ‘Famitsu’ magazine recently posted an information page up on their online publication which both announces and details a massive update for the game. Now, as mentioned, this update does nothing about the insane difficulty level but it does add a couple extra features that will surely boost overall gameplay value for the Sony Computer Entertainment title. The new update will add the ‘Internet Co-Op Play’ feature which will allow players to do exactly that; play matches over the internet with anyone around the world rather than just through ad-hoc. Don’t stress if you’re more of a ‘close proximity’ gamer because the ad-hoc multiplayer …

“Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax” Announced For The PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita

Yes! Another tasty crossover title has just been announced for home consoles and, man, am I hoping it gets a release in the West. Nonetheless, news of it’s release is still exciting enough to write about so I hope it’ll make you excited just by reading about it. It was announced today that the formerly arcade-only brawler title ‘Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax’ will be getting a home console release sometime in the fourth quarter of 2014. It has been set for a release on the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita with fans hoping this means it will have some level of cross-connectivity. The game is a collaboration title between Sega and Dengeki Bunko which, if you don’t know, is a Japanese light novel publisher famous for works like ‘Accel World’, ‘Black Bullet’ and ‘Durarara!!’. Remniscent of games like ‘Sunday vs Magazine’, which had lesser known Shonen characters throw down for ultimate supremacy, and ‘Jump Super Stars’, which had the more popular Shonen Jump series characters going head-to-head, ‘Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax’ will feature a …

Freedom Wars Proves ‘Too Hard’ For Japanese Gamers

It’s a well known fact that Japanese gamers are some of the most hardcore players in the world. If ever you think you’re good at a game…there’s probably someone in Japan that can play it way better than you can. Way better! The PlayStation Vita exclusive ‘Freedom Wars’ was released about a week ago over in Japan and already comments have been circulating the web regarding the difficulty of the game with most players saying that the game is massively unbalanced. It is yet to be confirmed as to whether or not this unbeatable difficulty level was a purposeful addition to the game but regardless of that, series producer Junichi Yoshizawa has commented on these complaints saying that the production team will soon begin looking into this ‘problem’. “It has come to my attention that the current players find the degree of difficulty to be too hard. In regard to the matter, we’ll be looking at countermeasures in the next few days. With all due apologies, please wait a little longer for corresponding details and …
