Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel – PlayStation 4 Review

Anime and Manga has this certain social stigma that surrounds it: It’s seen as a format wherein which the strange, perverse, and incoherent way, that it is a medium for strange people that enjoy strange things. Those of us out there that have an educated view of the Japanese Pop Culture landscape know that this is the truth only for the minority, and that the general Anime/Manga audience finds themselves constantly looking for what is essentially the opposite of the stereotypical. I find it amusing that not many people outside of the now-booming Japanese pop culture fandom are aware of Visual Novels. Amusing not from a obnoxious standpoint, but simply because it is the Visual Novel platform that produces some of the most bizarre, offbeat, and outlandish storylines and characters, most of which, thanks to an odd level of popularity, are eventually adapted into Anime series’ which are enjoyed, to a decent extent, by those who only choose to stick to the animation-based medium. Marvelous, the video game development studio behind the Senran Kagura series of raunchy …

Busting Up Walls, Spinning On Poles – UPPERS’ New Previews Showoff Gameplay Mechanics

Have you ever felt lonely in a crowd? Well I know that feeling because, for me, it’s a constant. Why though? Is it because I cannot preserve worthwhile relationships with friends, family, or lovers? Is it because I feel as though I am the only individual left in this world full of carbon copies? Is it because I was stranded on a deserted island for a span of eight years and have still yet to get over my time there? No! That’s all wrong! Why would you even assume that! I feel utter loneliness because it seems as though I’m the only one really excited for Marvelous’ upcoming brawler title UPPERS. For a while there, it seemed as though this game was on the edge of being cancelled. From having new trailers released every couple of weeks, it went to not hearing about it for quite some time…and then the indefinite delay period came about. It was almost an utter tragedy for those of you out there like me who enjoy some juvenile delinquent action …

Senran Kagura’s Daidoji Joins The Male-Dominated Roster Of Uppers

Behind ever powerful man is an even more powerful woman preparing to lock said man in a sleeper hold, making him question his own mortality as he quickly, and sometimes quietly, goes for a long trip to sleep land the likes of which he may never return from. Uppers is an upcoming beat-em-up title developed and produced by the incredible video game development studio Marvelous who introduced the world to one of it’s, now, most popular brawler series’ Senran Kagura. Considering Uppers is being looked at like the cross gender equivalent of Senran Kagura, it only makes sense that one of the girls would make their way onto the roster, right? Well they have! During the first-print run of the game’s release, Daidoji will be added to the roster for free as a downloadable character. According to Marvelous, it seems as though Daidoji’s appearance on the Last Resort island is a cause of her extensive travel for the sake of training. While on the road one day looking for another exciting place to hone her skills, she …

Romance Ladies, Beat On Dudes, And Fight For Glory – Uppers Debut Trailer Released

I’ve personally written many news pieces regarding the upcoming Marvelous brawler title Uppers because, well…seriously, if I have to explain it to you than it simply isn’t worth it anyway.  It’s a fighting video game developed by a bunch of developers who once worked on alternative beat em’ up titles like the Kenka Bancho series, overseen by the man behind Senran Kagura; Kenichiro Takaki. Uppers is a game about a man, you, and many other men brought to a mysterious island for the sake of entertainment, but what will you be doing to amuse crowds of blood-thirsty wealthy-types? Well…you’ll be beating each other to death, baby! That doesn’t mean you wont have time for romance though! There are plenty of eligible young ladies who’ve made their way to the island, and if years of martial arts discipline wont help you overcome your opponent, maybe getting close and comfortable with one of your lady-friends will give you the drive you need to survive. This upcoming PlayStation Vita title, because of its development team, is slowly but surely building …

First Thoughts: Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid – Beautiful Girl Sexy Battle Action

Marvelous has made quite a name for itself lately with the Senran Kagura franchise, and whether you’re in love with the gratuitous fan service or are offended by it because of reasons, Senran Kagura is here to stay and localisations have become more timely and frequent for the pleasure of Western fans. In an attempt to further their Ecchi escapades, Marvelous has launched a new franchise called Valkyrie Drive, a project that consists of an anime series followed by a few games, and not surprisingly, the first game is headed to the PlayStation Vita. To set the scene the anime, Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid, has started airing and is two episodes in, with AnimeLab doing the simulcast honours. Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid takes place in a world where women born with abnormalities are taken out of normal society and placed into a mysterious island populated by women alone. Within the island is a fighting academy sorts, and each abnormal mutant woman falls into one of two classes: Exters and Liberators. Exters have the ability to transform into weapons that …

Marvelous Announces Kenichiro Takaki’s Newest Video game Masterpiece: “Uppers”

You’ve all heard of the video game series Senran Kagura, right? If not; it’s a basically a bunch of games produced by this one guy, Kenichiro Takaki, that feature sexy Ninja babes ripping each others clothes off and just being generally, well…seductive. Now Senran Kagura is immeasurably popular, though not for all video game fans, it is a series that features great mechanics as well as some interesting visuals, if you know what I’m talking about. Well producer Kenichiro Takaki, and video game development studio Marvelous, have decided that raunchy fist fights aren’t just for the ladies and have gone ahead and announced their upcoming brawler title Uppers. Uppers is a PlayStation Vita game that will, supposedly, make the monotony of your basic Beat ’em Up title seem amazing! Producer, once again, by Kenichiro Takaki, this game is said to feature an all-male cast of thugs who have been brought to a remote island wherein which they’re forced to fight for the entertainment of those lucky enough to be a part of the crowd and …
