Your Wish, Their Command – Capcom Reveals Protoman Helmet Replica

In July of 2015, Capcom revealed to the world that they had opened up pre-orders for the item fans of Megaman have been waiting on all their lives; a full-scale replica helmet of the Blue Bomber himself. This expensive piece of merchandise was comfortably wearable, it was greatly detailed, and certain features would light up, making this the perfect replica of our hero’s helmet. Well, since then, the helmet has been released across the world, being put up for sale on Capcom’s official site, as well as in stores such as Australia’s own Zing; pop culture merchandise retailer. It’s price tag in the triple digits, nobody thought the helmet would sell as well as it did. So well, in fact, that Capcom had absolutely no choice but to begin working on a secondary replica helmet, this time one based on that of the original mentally-independent android; Protoman. It’s not often that Capcom will listen to the words of their audience, but seeing as the Megaman replica helmet made so much money, it was an easy …

Inafune Delivers – Mighty No. 9 To Launch Worldwide This June Without Further Delay

It has almost been three years since Keji Inafune announced the much-anticipated platformer Mighty No.9, and after indefinite delay periods we thought would never change, it has finally been announced to be getting a worldwide release a month from now in June. It has been revealed that Comcept have officially completed development of the game, and that it will be released across Asia and North America on the 21st of June, with the rest of the world to receive it on the 24th. Though it has been quite some time, and the hype train has slowed to an almost complete stop, many fans are glad that Keiji Inafune and his dedicated team have taken the time to polish the game as much as they possibly could have, as well as making it available on almost every console currently in circulation. Comcept have put a great deal of their time and effort into making Mighty No. 9 the worthwhile successor to that of Inafune’s original Blue Bomber Megaman. To announce that the game will soon be …

The Newest Trailer For Mighty No. 9 Says “Bring It!”

It’s nearly the end of the year, and Keiji Inafune’s long-awaited MegaMan spiritual successor Mighty No. 9 is set to be released on the 9th of February 2016. This means people are, once again, starting to get hyped for a video game that will hopefully be very much worth the wait. The pop culture world actually hasn’t heard from Inafune, Comcept, or Mighty No. 9 as a whole for quite some time, then all of the sudden a trailer is released that shows, we assume, the final product. I have to say…I’m pretty damn excited, despite the fact that we’ve had to wait quite a long time for it’s release. Usually, with articles like this, I try to add as much attitude in as possible. You know, just to give the news a little bit more personality. After watching the new trailer…it doesn’t look like that’s necessary at all, considering the narrator does a better job at giving the audience a bit of likable attitude than I ever could. My hope is that it disarms …

Capcom Announces Mega Man Legacy Collection, Fans Not Impressed

Talk to enough people about Mega Man and you’ll soon come to realise the Blue Bomber is close to being pretty much dead. Fact is; it has been this way for quite some time, which makes it even more unfortunate. Some will say the kid robot still has what it takes to match more contemporary video game mascots but Capcom has already replaced him with Street Fighter’s Ryu and the man that created him no longer works for the company…so yeah. Capcom, in an attempt to satiate the fans’ need for the side-scrolling legend, have announced a new video game collection that compiles the first six Mega Man games in the series’ lineup. You’d think this would be pretty exciting for those of us out there who still very much love the series, but…you’d be wrong. After surfing the web for a bit, scouring comment sections and forums, I’ve come to understand that this attempt at reviving Mega Man has not worked entirely in Capcom’s favour. While few people showed genuine interest in the collection, …

Mighty Things, Small Packages – Mighty No. 9 Signature Edition Announced

Overnight, Comcept and Deep Silver who’re now the publishers of Keiji Inafune’s attempt to revive Mega Man announced an interesting special edition pack for their upcoming title Mighty No. 9. For the longest time we had heard no word regarding this modern day side-scroller and then all of the sudden we’re given this; the Mighty No. 9 – Signature Edition which comes packed with a copy of the vidro game, a 6.5 inch figurine of Beck himself, and a replica of Keiji Inafune’s signature which will be placed on the box of the pack. The most exciting feature of this Signature Edition would have to be the posable figure of Beck which not only stands at a pretty nice 6.5 inches tall, as mentioned, but also comes with three interchangeable faceplates to match your mood. The awesome thing about this edition as a whole is that it will only set buyers back about $60, but you’ll have to investigatw local video game retailers just to make. Prices change all over the world. The price of …

Mega Man X Kidrobot Vinyl Figures Hitting Shelves This Summer

There’s nothing that says “retro” more than some vinyl merchandise. We live in a modern age wherein which vinyl is no longer used to house musical tracks. Though actual vinyl albums still do exist, the soft plastic is now used for much more decorative purposes, namely the creation of figures and figurines. Your favorite characters from your favorite movies, television shows, comics, Anime, Manga, video games are all now immortalised in vinyl. Walk into any store that sells pop culture merchandise and you’re sure to be overwhelmed by the sight of just so much vinyl. I’m getting a little overwhelmed simply typing the word “vinyl” so many times in this article. Kidrobot, one of the modern day’s leading producers of designer toys, announced a year ago that they’re going to fuse their vinyl stylings with another old-school favorite who is, funnily enough, made entirely from metal. Kids, Mega Man is a small, blue robot who was created to fight against a bunch of other, sometimes small robots who’re programmed to send the world into a state …

Azure Striker Gunvolt – Review

Let me tell you a little story, reader: As a young lad I would always do my best to be good. Sometimes though, my behaviour would result in some time to play with our old computer. My father had three games available to play on his desktop: Some side-scrolling “Duke Nukem” title, a golf simulator loaded onto a floppy disk, and a demo of “Megaman X”. Each time I’d jump onto that hunk of junk I’d cycle through the three games always ending with “Megaman X”. It was, by far, my favorite. Fastforward to this very day, the day of writing this review, and I’m still a huge fan of “Megaman”, anything created by Keiji Inafune, Inti Creates, and anything else related to the Blue Bomber. “Azure Striker Gunvolt” interested me at a powerfully visceral level. At the beginning of the month (April, 2015) Nintendo hosted another one of their presentations. Alongside some other announcements that had me shaking in my seat, it was that of “Azure Striker Gunvolt” which had on my 3DS and …

Azure Striker Gunvolt Announced For Western Release, Made Available To Purchase Soon After Presentation

Any fan of “Megaman” or any of Keiji Inafune’s other similar works will be very excited to know that his latest video game masterpiece “Azure Striker Gunvolt” has not only just been announced for a Western release but almost immediately made available to purchase on the Nintendo eShop. Allow me to explain: April’s Nintendo Direct Presentation has just finished and with it, much like every other presentation, comes a whole bunch of awesome information about Nintendo games. One that took me by surprise but excited me a great deal is the release of Inafune’s “Azure Striker Gunvolt” which is set to be released on the 2nd of April which, if you’re living in Australia where I am, is today! Now while I havn’t been able to get onto the eShop to check if it is already out thanks to the huge rush of people wanting to check out the presentation and the games it was promoting, so I’m not quite sure if it has been released as of yet. The fact is that, by tomorrow, …

Mighty No. 9 – Inafune Says “Happy New Year” And Details Game Progress

It’s well-known that the relationship between Keiji Inafune and the heads over at Capcom wasn’t that of a stable one by the end of his run at the game developer. While we never truly know what went on behind closed doors what we do know is that Capcom are definitely kicking themselves now that Inafune is on the verge of releasing what is looking to be one of the better games of 2015. Well the head of the newly established Comcept has, over the weekend, released a video online where he takes the chance to say “Happy New Year” to all of his fans as well as update us all on the progress of “Mighty No. 9”. For the most part,  Inafune says, the game is basically done! The only thing the small crew at Comcept have to work on now is actually porting the game to all the different consoles, as well as general promotional stuff. Don’t just take my word for it though. Check out the video just below to see exactly what Inafune …

Mighty No. 9 – 2015 Progress Update Shows Highway Stage

Every once in a while, Comcept and Inti Creates give the world an update on the progress of the upcoming side-scrolling adventure title “Mighty No.9” which you’d know, unless you’ve been living under a rock, is a new game that will surely be seen as the “Megaman” of the new generation. At least, that’s the way it has been coming across. Like any project backed by a Kickstarter campaign, when an update on the development process comes around you always hope what’s shown is some actual progress. With “Mighty No.9”, though updates are scattered, everytime we see one there’s always something exciting and new for the world to sink its teeth into, and that really is the sign of a great development company. Though with Keiji Inafune at the head…it’s no real surprise that the game is coming along nicely. The latest update is pretty simple: It’s a few screenshots of a single stage that somewhat reminds me of the beginning of “Megaman X”. Those of you who played it will know what it is …

“Mighty No.9” July Update Gameplay Trailer Released

The second Kickstarter campaign for Keiji Inafune’s ‘Might No.9’ is going very strong and that’s no surprise seeing as how damn well the first campaign went. As a sign of good faith, ‘Comcept’ (Inafune’s own video game development company) have just released a new trailer for the upcoming ‘Megaman’ spiritual successor. This two minute long piece of footage was posted to basically show just how well the development of the game is going, proving to backers that their money is being put to good use. Not that anyone every doubted that. It’s just what makes Inafune and his crew some of the best contemporary video game developers around. Follow Beck again as he blasts, smashes and dashes his way through countless enemies. It’s only a short video but if you’re a die-hard fan of Mr. Inafune’s work, like me, you’ll be happy to see more of the new ‘blue bomber’. As an added bonus, the Kickstarter page was also updated with a bunch of great art from fans around the world. Click Here to head …
