Fighting Spirits – JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable (Live-Action) – Humble Opinions

In a corner of a world much like our own, anomalies exist. Born of strong spirit, and occasionally aided by a magical Bow and Arrow, these twists of the natural order give birth to great good and evil. Guided by the minds of those who control them, these powers fashion a story of horror and triumph, leaving bizarreness in their wake. Also, death and chaos…they leave a lot of death and chaos in their wake. But, on the plus side, some deserved it. In case you’ve been living under a suddenly creepy-looking rock, allow me to to briefly explain the long-running history of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: It’s a manga that came out quite a while ago and is still going. So concluded the brief history of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. I’d go into more detail, but considering this film jumps into the fourth iteration of the original series, it really doesn’t matter. If anything, I wish I didn’t have my previous knowledge of JoJo going into this film. By knowing where the story was going well …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable Live Action Movie Teaser Revealed

The gang behind the Diamond Is Unbreakable live action movie have done a wonderful job of revealing a steady stream of teaser images after the last episode of the anime last December. This was through images of the actors dressed up in their fabulous attire. Now we hit the apex teaser as a teaser trailer was recently streamed for the movie. The trailer opens with a picturesque view of Morioh, before showing Josuke walking towards the camera. Following Josuke knocking a ne’er-do-wells teeth out, there is a quick flash of images regarding the movie, which is following the ‘Hunt For The Arrow’ Ark. Important images shown include: He believes in being the best there is at what he does, archery. The gate museum has a 100% success rate of people not getting stabbed in the neck. Seriously, all that water around cannot be good for your health. He is probably thinking about Starfish, or squids, or something. The house is so dirty because of all the archery. The film has finished on location shooting in Spain and …

Anime of the Year Awards – 2016

Anime. That wonderous creation that allows members of reality to take a break and wonder; “What would it be like if I could travel through time…and then blow it up?” It doesn’t even have to be that complicated, perhaps one simply wishes to witness a touching story that sees two star crossed lovers come together and make it work. Or, should romance lie beyond your collection of interests, simply watch a monster fight someone whose strength allows them to punch a building clean in half. That being said, each year bestows upon the world a very particular set of series, some which fall to obscurity and others who remain within the minds of viewers for time undetermined. 2016 was of course no exception and a select few of its offerings lie below… AOTY – ERASED There was no anime like ERASED in 2016. None dared to be so bold. None could follow the level of brilliance it achieved and few even tried. Tomohiko Ito may be more popularly known as the man who directed Sword …

Now that the Anime adaptation of Hirohiko Araki’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable has reached it’s finale, fans of the long-running series are thirsty for more. Most are anticipating the release of a preview for the upcoming Part 5: Vento Aureo, whereas others are looking towards the realm of live-action cinema to scratch their itch. Luckily famed director Takashi Miike and crew have exactly what what we need to drive away any withdrawal symptoms that come with a lack of JJBA content. Across the new years celebrations the very first visual for the upcoming live-action JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure film, which will be focussing solely on Part 4: Diamond Is Unbreakable, was released online. This image shows lead actor Kento Yamazaki in full costume as the story’s protagonist Josuke Higashikata. The most prominent reaction to this visual reveal is that of a positive one, with many saying that it is as close as a filmmaker is going to get to recreating his look from the Manga. It’s great to see that many are fans of …

These New JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable Snacks Will Make You Feel Great!

Most good arcades will often offer up something along the lines of snack food to fuel players as they work hard attempting to land a high scores on their favorite games. Maybe you’re a fan of Tekken and need more wins on your record, so you head into your local arcade, slap down your Banapassport card, and there appears your modified Devil Jin with 299 wins and only a single loss. You now want to try add to that number by ghosting as many of the other players looking for a rumble as you can, but how can you be expected to nail combos with an empty stomach? You can’t! That’s ludicrous! You go searching for something quick, close, and easy to settle the hunger pains. If you’re a young man or woman living in Japan that can relate to what I’ve just said, then you’ll be delighted to know that JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure have collaborated with Umaibo snacks and are releasing their own limited line of Beef Tongue flavoured puffed corn treats across the great …

RUMOUR: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure – Stardust Crusaders To Be Adapted Into A Live-Action Film

Let’s take a trip back in time, just for a moment, to the year 2012: Women-centric blog Cyzo Daily News reported on a rumour that saw Japanese Idol, Singer, Actor, and all around good looking guy Jun Matsumoto up for the role of Jotaro Kujo in the then-unconfirmed live-action film adaptation of Hirohiko Araki’s hit Manga series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. This rumour didn’t necessarily gain any traction, with most JJBA-fans brushing it off as nothing more than how it was marketed; a rumour. Now let’s jump back to present day; it’s the year 2016, and this story revolving around the possible live-action Stardust Crusaders film has, once again, resurfaced. This time, much like the last, another actor has been highlighted as the possible number one candidate to take on the role of story crutch Jotaro Kujo, his name is Kento Yamazaki and, much like his predecessor, he is also known for being incredibly handsome…he’s also a pretty good actor, let’s not forget that. For the second time, this “news” has first been reported on Cyzo …

Re-Release Of Savage Garden Singles Collection To Feature Diamond Is Unbreakable Cover

The latest season of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Anime adaptation, Diamond Is Unbreakable, is only a few episodes in at this point in time, but it has already become one of the most loved series’ of not only this season but of the year so far. With stunning visuals and an incredible storyline, it’s hard not to love Diamond Is Unbreakable, but out of everything it was the series’ theme song that shocked audiences the most. Set to a series of slow-paced visuals that have now proven to be the natural successor to the once-royal “Guile’s Theme Goes With Everything” meme, thanks to countless edits that replace the ending theme with any number of wacky and wonderful songs from the era, the ending track for the series is a song by Australia’s own Savage Garden who, at the time, were just as popular in Japan, if not moreso! Many people’s love for the 1996 track “I Want You“, as well as their love for Savage Garden as a whole, has recently been rekindled thanks to that …

First Thoughts: “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable” – Shine On, You Crazy Diamond!

Here we go, the part we’ve all been waiting for! DIO is dead, the Tarrot Cards have been ripped to shreds, Old Man Joseph is off having affairs, and Jotaro Kujo is now a Marine Biologist. Everything you thought was insane about the previous installments of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure can be tossed out the proverbial window, because what’s coming up is crazier than anything we’ve ever seen before. Things are changing, baby! No longer will Stands be named after Tarrot Cards, so if you thought Tower Of Grey was too odd of a name, then you better prepare yourself for the incredibly original Red Hot Chilli Pepper; a name only one letter away from a copyright lawsuit. We’re no longer following the Juvenile Delinquent Jotaro Kujo, instead this part will focus on a character the likes of which we’ve never seen before; a Juvenile Delinquent…with a heart of gold. This new Anime will not feature a mangey mutt, nor a senile old man, but instead it will play host to some of the more interesting characters you’ve ever …

SnapThirty Crowns Best Shonen Jump Signature Move

For years, pop culture fanatics have been at war with each other. Countless relationships have been ruined over talks of who is best this and who is best that. For example: While some of us tend to think Persona 4’s Chie is Best Girl, others may believe it is Sword Art Online’s Asuna. The problem with this ongoing debate is that it is one fought entirely on a biased foundation, meaning that there can never be a proper resolution. This conflict is one that seems as though it is never going to end, but us here at SnapThirty want you all to know that we will be the ones to bring peace back into the pop culture world…one character at a time. On episode 43 of the SnapThirty podcast, the boys decided that they were going to run a series of tournament brackets to decide once and for all who from Japanese pop culture truly are the best of the best. While Best Girl is indeed the most sought after title in all …

Shine On! JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part Four Promo Released

Oh JoJo, that series that reminds us that not all families are conventional and that sometimes it takes the help of friends to see your goals through to the end. Of course it helps if said friends and family possesses tremendous abilities that skirt the border of reality, time, space, fiction and good sense, but the message of companionship is still underlying…I think. I’ll admit, things got a little hazy for me when the Stardust Crusaders had to fight the Sun, but that’s a story for another time. Much to the joy of Diamond Is Unbreakable fans, David Production has continued their JJBA streak by revealing their plans for the first ever anime adaptation of said fourth part of the ever expanding epic of the Joestar bloodline. Jumping ahead a little from the previous part, Diamond Is Unbreakable takes place in 1999, continuing the trend of progressive eras in the JoJo franchise (keeping in mind that Part One took place in the 1880s). With new JoJo Josuke Higashikata at the helm, the series will follow …

Speedwagon, Jotaro Kujo,Okuyasu Nijimura, Bruno Buccellati, Joseph Joestar, Dio Brando, Gyro Zeppeli, Josuke Higashikata, Enrico Pucci, Rudol Von Stroheim, and Trish Una. I’m the type of person who always thinks about why an antagonist is just so…evil. What made them this way? When I think about the Pillar Men from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part II: Battle Tendency, I don’t necessarily ask myself why they’re so darn evil. I feel like if I were stuck in stone pillars for thousands of years, I’d be pretty damn pissed too! Out of the four main antagonists of Battle Tendency, Esidisi was by …

Speedwagon, Jotaro Kujo,Okuyasu Nijimura, Bruno Buccellati, Joseph Joestar, Dio Brando, Gyro Zeppeli, Josuke Higashikata, Enrico Pucci, and Rudol Von Stroheim. Today’s character-specific Eyes Of Heaven trailer focuses on one of the many memorable gang members from the series’ Part V storyline Vento Aureo with a strange ability that can work well in almost every single situation…maybe apart from one. This young “Mafiosa“, a girl named Trish Una, is part of Bruno Buccelati’s gang, and the daughter of the original boss of the mafia family; the Passione. Her stand, Spice Girl, can manipulate matter in a very …

Speedwagon, Jotaro Kujo,Okuyasu Nijimura, Bruno Buccellati, Joseph Joestar, Dio Brando, Gyro Zeppeli, Josuke Higashikata, and Enrico Pucci. There’s nothing more advanced than Nazi technology…apparently. When the world is threatened by three naked Egyptian men born from stone pillars for a purpose which is still unbeknownst to me, who can you call to defend it? Obviously…the Nazis, and there’s one regime-lover who stands above all others thanks to the millions of dollars pumped into developing technology that could be used to replace his lost organs with countless deadly weapons. His name is Rudol Von Stroheim, and according …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Enrico Pucci Character Battle Trailer Released

Bandai Namco Entertainment are super excited for their upcoming JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure title Eyes Of Heaven, and to celebrate it’s almost-release they plan on posting character-specific videos that span the game’s entire roster which, last time I checked, is at least fifty strong. So far the list of names is fairly thick, but it’s only going to get thicker! Speedwagon, Jotaro Kujo,Okuyasu Nijimura, Bruno Buccellati, Joseph Joestar, Dio Brando, Gyro Zeppeli, and Josuke Higashikata. Today’s video highlights a character that, long after DIO’s death, still wishes to see his divine plan through to the very end. First appearing in Part VI: Stone Ocean, Enrico Pucci is a priest at the Green Dolphin Street Prison of which main character Jolyne Cujoh is a prisoner. Being a devout follower of DIO, Enrico Pucci has a mental state that is, let’s say, less-than-stable. This man will do anything to live life according to the word of DIO, …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Josuke Higashikata Character Battle Trailer Released

Speedwagon, Jotaro Kujo,Okuyasu Nijimura, Bruno Buccellati, Joseph Joestar, Dio Brando, and Gyro Zeppeli. Today’s featured character is another member of the Joestar family that has a Stand who’s abilities I’m honestly not sure I entirely understand. Josuke Higashikata is the main protagonist of Part IV: Diamond Is Unbreakable, which is a story that follows the lives of three young boys as they hunt down a cereal killer who’s taking countless innocent lives in their small town. His stand, called Crazy Diamond, is much like Star Platinum in the way that it is both fast and …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Gyro Zeppeli Character Battle Trailer Released

In the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure universe there’s this ancient technique called the Ripple that allows any master of the practice to harness the power of the sun to defeat their foes with an array of interesting and incredible weird techniques. Jonathan and Joseph Joestar both know their way around the supernatural art, as well as others like Will and Caesar Zeppeli who, unfortunately, both died for the sake of their individual Joestar family members. After a handful of story arcs, each differing greatly from the last, the world of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is re-written. No longer is there such thing as the Ripple, but there is something that supersedes it…a little technique called Spin. You know what’s going on, right? Come on, surely you do! The latest spotlight trailer focuses on the …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Dio Brando Character Battle Trailer Released

I’ve done about seven of these articles at the time of writing this one. I try my hardest to put a little bit of character specific flair into each and every one by referencing their personality types, battle tactics, etc., but with Dio Brando…all I can do is make the same jokes everyone else has already made. You know the whole “it was I, Dio” thing, yeah, it’s kind of gotten old, and yet here I am fighting with myself because, well…damn, I want to make some of those jokes too, so here I go: [Insert Dio Meme Here] Bandai Namco Entertainment are doing this interesting thing wherein which they’re periodically releasing character-specific trailers in the lead-up to their upcoming action title JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven. So far we’ve seen about seven of them, of which I’ll make sure to specify in the latter sections of this article, and we’re only going to be seeing more and more, considering there are over fifty playable characters, and I’m fairly certain they want to get …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Joseph Joestar Character Battle Trailer Released

Tank top, check. Headband, check. Loose, flowing scarf…double check. Well damn, now you’re looking like Joseph Joestar! Bandai Namco Entertainment, to celebrate the upcoming release of their newest JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fighting title Eyes Of Heaven, are periodically releasing different, character-specific gameplay trailers to show audiences just who they’ll be able to play as once the new game comes out and, of course, simply to build hype. The list so far is; Jonathan Joestar, Robert E.O. Speedwagon, Jotaro Kujo, Okuyasu Nijimura, and Bruno Buccellati, with the newest addition to the short but growing list being none other than Battle Tendency’s protagonist; Joseph Joestar. Oh my God! The masterful Ripple user has returned for Eyes Of Heaven stronger and more flamboyant than he’s ever been before! Whether he’s using his faithful tommy gun, his Cracker Volley technique, or the Ripple as a whole, chances are…it’s going to mean a bed time for anyone going head-to-head with this slab of man meat. Strong enough to survive the Pillar Men onslaught as a youngster, Joseph Joestar has had …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Bruno Buccellati Character Battle Trailer Released

By now I’m sure you know the story, but I’ll reiterate quickly for the sake of consistence: Bandai Namco Entertainment, in the lead up to the release of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven, are systematically releasing character-specific battle trailers that showcase the abilities of each and every individual addition to the new game’s roster. So far, we’ve seen trailers for Jonathan Joestar, Robert E.O.Speedwagon, Jotaron Kujo, and Okuyasu Nijimura, but today’s video focuses on none other than the zipper man himself; Bruno Buccellati. This young gangster made his first appearance in the one-shot Manga “Jolyne, Fly High With Gucchi” but became a fully fleshed-out character in the pages of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure – Part 4: Vento Aureo alongside main character Giorno Giovanna. His stand, Sticky Fingers, has the strange but applicable ability to zip open portals into any physical matter by manifesting a zipper over the area he wishes. His ability can be used to hide, making it easy for him to get the drop on his enemy, but it isn’t just this strange …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Okuyasu Nijimura Character Battle Trailer Released

I would say “make space for a new character” but it seems as though this particular juvenile delinquent can do that himself. As you know; Bandai Namco Entertainment are building hype for the upcoming release of their latest JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fighting title Eyes Of Heaven. In the lead-up to the game’s release, the publisher is releasing character-specific trailers that will show most, if not all, of those who will feature on the roster for the new game, making sure to give the proper spotlight to those who maybe don’t often get it. So far, Bandai Namco Entertainment have given us trailers for Jonathan Joestar, Robert E.O. Speedwagon, and Jotaro Kujo. Today’s trailer focuses on one of the main characters from Part 4 of the series Diamond Is Unbreakable; Okuyasu Nijimura. This young man is an asset to anyone fighting by his side. His Stand, The Hand, has the ability to remove space from the universe, meaning that even long-rang fighters can’t get a chance at praying on what they though was this fighter’s weakness. …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Jotaro Kujo Character Battle Trailer Released

Bandai Namco Entertainment, to celebrate the upcoming release of their brawler title JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven, have been systematically releasing gameplay trailers focusing on specific characters from the series’ long-lineage. The first two that were released highlight the battle prowess of both Jonathan Joestar and Robert E.O. Speedwagon, and the latest character battle trailer to be released focuses entirely on the most popular JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure protagonist, the ever-broody Jotaro Kujo. Now I honestly don’t think I have to explain much regarding the main character of Stardust Crusaders because, well…everyone knows who Jotaro Kujo is. He truly is one of the most well-known Shonen Jump characters of all time and his presence is so impactful, it’s hard not to have his name burned into the side of your brain. With his Stand Star Platinum at his side, this juvenile delinquent can pretty much trump any adversary that stands in his way, even the all powerful DIO, whom he decimated with a single punch…practically. Returning from Eyes Of Heaven’s predecessor All-Star Battle, Jotaru Kujo …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Jonathan Joestar Character Battle Trailer Released

You know that there’s another JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure game coming out right? Yeah, I thought so. Anyone who’s anyone know’s that! It’s called JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven and it’s a follow up to the previously released PlayStation 3 fighting game All-Star Battle. Well it looks as though Bandai Namco Entertainment think that we’ve all forgotten about the characters that appeared in All-Star Battle and are taking this chance to re-introduce us with a series of introduction videos that should highlight some of the new additions to the game’s roster while also taking a look back at some of the old favorites. The very first in this, possible, series of fifty videos (seeing as there are fifty playable characters in the upcoming game) focuses entirely on the very first notable Joestar; Jonathan. Having had to train to defeat his step-brother Dio Brando who, in true Dio fashion, turned himself into a powerful Vampire, Jonathan trained in the art of the Ripple; an ability that uses the power of Solar Energy to vanquish foes, especially …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part Four: Diamond Is Unbreakable Anime Green-Lit

We all knew this was coming, because it was teased at the very end of the Stardust Crusaders Anime season, but it still gives a nice warm feeling just knowing that Part Four of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Manga series, Diamond Is Unbreakable, is confirmed for an Anime adaptation sometime in the near future. Over in Japan, Tokyo to be specific, on the Saturday that has just passed, an event was held titled “The Last Crusaders” which, as you may think, had nothing to do with the Indiana Jones movie of similar name. No, it was a JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure event that basically celebrated all things Stardust Crusaders. While many exciting things happened over the span of the event’s full day, the most exciting is absolutely that of the Diamond Is Unbreakable Anime adaptation confirmation which was delivered to the audience, and now us living everywhere BUT Japan, with a teaser trailer that shows absolutely nothing of the upcoming Anime but has worked to excited people from all walks of life living all across the world. …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood Volume Three – Review

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has always gotten away with how ridiculous and inherently insane it is on one thing: pure commitment to itself. That unbridled commitment to its core concepts and the extreme level of detail to the bizarre makes every single page utterly compelling, demanding you to suspend you disbelief because why not believe that something so insane could happen when it is this fun? That commitment is why Jonathan’s climactic battle with Dio’s decapitated head on a zombie filled cruise liner inferno is so damn good. For all its intricate little details, the declaration fueled dialogue and the sheer passion that flows through every panel, Araki’s Phantom Blood is a masterstroke clearly on accident. This third volume concludes the Phantom Blood arc of the series and it does beg the question, was this how this series was originally intended to conclude or did Araki plan it to span generations? I think that given later plot holes that occur, it is obvious this was the originally intended ending of the manga and it is interesting …

This Heavenly Form Of DIO Is Set To Feature In JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven

The concept of a God is already quite frightening. While it gives many religious-types around the world a large sense of solace, simply pondering the metaphysical presence of an unearthly deity is mind-boggling. Now think about a God that would let an A-Grade piece of Vampiric garbage like Dio Brando into Heaven…is that a God you want to follow? Hell no! Why? Because if it has let Dio through those pearly gates and into Nirvana, I can imagine who else is waiting up there for our arrival. The upcoming Bandai Namco Entertainment title JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven is a follow up fighting game to the previously released All-Star Battle, both of which allow players to slot themselves into the shoes of their favorite JJBA characters and duke it out Stand-style in ways only the character cast of this oddball series knows. The Japanese pop culture magazine Ultra Jump has this week revealed a brand-new character that will be playable in the upcoming game, and while he is technically brand-new…he’s a guy we’ve seen …

Stand Together and Fight – JJBA: Eyes of Heaven Tokyo Game Show 2015 Trailer Released

Stand up and be proud fellow JoJo Bizarre Adventurers because the series that spirals ever further down the rabbit hole of insanity is bringing out yet another opportunity for you to take up the mantle of these crazy characters…and beat each other into the ground with them. Heading to the PS3 and PS4, Eyes of Heaven throws you headfirst into battle bot canon and non, as you choose between familiar faces from any number o parts from the JoJo mythos. Max eight…there’s only eight parts. Fan of Jonathan Joestar? Throw down some Sunlight Yellow Overdrives. More of a Caesar fan? Pop some villainous bubble with your own more painful heroic bubbles. Fancy yourself a Speedwagon supporter? Why? I guess he’s got a hammer…and eventually wealth…I think he stole Will’s hat though, that was weird. Oh well, to each their combative own. Not much else to say on the subject really. Gameplay got shown, which is always a nice touch for convention trailers. There appears to be more of a connection between the fighters, with a …

The Attendees of SMASH! 2015 – Cosplay Compilation

The cosplay community is a large, thriving collection of incredibly dedicated and hard-working fans of pop culture. Preparing months (sometimes even years) in advanced, these men and women put countless hours into constructing costumes modelled after their favorite characters from the world of pop culture, but…come on, you know this already, right? Cosplay has been around for many, many years. It’s so popular in the modern age that I honestly cannot imagine it ever dulling in popularity…nor should it. At every pop culture convention, one of the more amazing sights is that of a crowd of cosplayers not only enjoying their own costumes but the costumes of others and the convention itself. When it comes to prime cosplayers, it seems as though SMASH! truly is the place to be. Each and every year the quality of cosplay you see on the show grounds continues to grow ever higher, with those living the dedicated cosplay lifestyle continuing to develop as craftsmen and craftswomen. SMASH! 2015 was no different. Each and every cosplayer present put clear effort into their …

J-Stars Victory Vs+ – PlayStation 4 Review

Have you ever thought about the ramifications of Goku’s Kamehameha going up against Yusuke Urameshi’s Spirit Gun? When two unstoppable forces collide, the destruction caused by it is immense. Now think, what if a powerhouse like Naruto Uzumaki went head-to-head with a speed demon like Ichigo Kurosaki. Which would win; Uzumaki’s Rasengan of Kurosaki’s Getsuga Tensho? Disregarding the millions of dollars worth of collateral damage, who would come out on top? Questions like this are constantly thrown across tables of like-minded pop culture fans all discussing their favorite characters from their favorite pieces of media, each with their own theories regarding who would best who in combat. Usually those questions can never be answer, but it is with the release of crossover fighting titles like J-Stars Victory Vs+ that it all becomes just a little bit clearer. Not since the Japan-only Nintendo DS title Jump Ultimate Stars have we seen this many Shonen Jump heroes and villains come together to throw down in the combined arena. Ever since it was announced for a Japanese release, Western …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Lisa Lisa And Pet Shop Announced As Playable Characters

The latest issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump has just been released over in Japan revealing two more characters set to appear in the next JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fighting title; Eyes Of Heaven. The upcoming video game, which is a spiritual successor to the PlayStation 3’s All-Star Battle, will bring JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure-style action to the PlayStation 4 for the very first time and as a means to win over a new generation of audience members there will be a great deal of additions to both the gameplay mechanics and character roster. Though connected in absolutely no way, the two latest playable characters to be revealed are Battle Tendency’s Lisa Lisa and Stardust Crusaders’ Pet Shop. One is the mysterious mother of Joseph Joestar, a master of the Ripple and possibly the single greatest female character in the entire series, whereas the other is an intelligent falcon in possession of a ferocious Stand. Like I said…not related in any way. Not much has been said regarding the move set of these two. As far as …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood Volume 2 Review

The bizarre adventure into the heart of gothic darkness continues with the second volume of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s first part, Phantom Blood. While the first volume introduced us into the bizarre domain that is the world of Jonathan Joestar and Dio Brando, volume 2 is more focused on paving the pathway for their fated collision. It is evident from the very first chapter of Phantom Blood that this story is going to end in one way and one way only, with Jonathan and Dio duking it out in mortal combat. After Dio had put Jonathan’s father out of commission permanently in the last volume, Jonathan is trying to go on with his life. Eventually Jonathan comes to meet Zeppelli an eccentric man who informs him of Dio’s survival and intentions of building an undead army to conquer the world. Johnathan isn’t having none of that of course and after learning the ancient art of Hamon (or Ripple if you are that way inclinced) he sets out with Zeppelli and the downright hilarious Speedwagon. This volume …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood Volume 1 Review

Whether you love it or you hate it, there is one thing that is undeniable: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is something special. While it is easy to pass off JoJo’s early goings as a Fist of the North Star knock-off at first glance at hulking men drawn with sharp lines and heavy ink. Phantom Blood is brimming with creativity the likes of which are damn near incomparable. That is what JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is, simply unlike anything else in manga. Phantom Blood is the first of eight (and counting) parts of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series. Originally released back in 1986, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has spanned hundreds of volumes and thousands upon thousands of chapters and remains in serialization today. However this is the first time ever that the Phantom Blood part of the series has been released in English, with Viz Media having only ever dabbled in localizing part three of the series, Stardust Crusaders. Needless to say, this is a release that is a long time coming and Viz Media have not disappointed, giving …

Za Furu! – Iggy Returns In JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven

The latest issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump has been released and with it always comes some juicy news about the young man’s genre and the series’ that call it home. This time around, Bandai Namco Games have revealed (through the magazine of course) four more characters set to appear in the upcoming fighting title based on the long-running and highly popular JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series; Eyes Of Heaven. This new title will bring back what we all enjoyed about Bandai Namco’s previous JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fighting title All-Star Battle but will also feature some huge updates to both gameplay mechanics and character roster. As mentioned in the article title; Iggy the Boston Terrier will return as a playable fighter in the new game as well as Dio Brando from the Phantom Blood arc of the series. The two characters NOT seen in the previous game who will be joining the cast this time around are Joseph Joestar and N’Doul, both from the Stardust Crusaders arc of the series. Dio, much like the last game, will …

Check Out What’s Changed In The New JJBA: Eyes Of Heaven Fighting Game

Please tell me you havn’t forgotten about Bandai Namco Games’ upcoming fighting title JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven?! You couldn’t have! Not yet! I know it’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the game but that doesn’t mean we can just forget it! Bandai Namco Games, the past Wednesday, released a brand-new gameplay trailer for the upcoming game that spotlights some of the new changes that have been made in recent development months. These changes have come about thanks to a demo that they released a few months ago. Those who got their hands on a copy took the initiative and detailed to Bandai Namco just what it was they thought the game was lacking and how they thought the company could fix it. Being the kind developers and publishers they are, Bandai Namco Games took all of that into account and started fixing the game according to the words of the fans. The new trailer that’s just been released shows off all of these changes and allows for us all to …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Robert E.O. Speedwagon Announced as Playable Character

Oh boy! Oh no! Oh…Oh shit! I can’t contain my excitement! The latest edition of Shueisha’s Young Jump magazine has today revealed three more playable characters set to appear in the upcoming “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” tag-team fighting title “Eyes Of Heaven” and while two already featured in this games predecessor, the other didn’t and he’s the most exciting addition of all! Joining the updated roster for the new game will be the Joestar that started it all, Jonathan, alongside his mentor and trainer Will A. Zeppeli…but those guys are boring because anyone that’s read the “Phantom Blood” Manga or watched that arc in the Anime adaptation should know that the true star of the series is one Robert E.O. Speedwagon who has also been announced as another playable character. This. Is. AWESOME! The assumption is that Zeppeli and Jonathan will fight much the same way as they did in the previous game so let’s not focus on them. Instead let’s talk about just how our friend and my personal hero Mr. Speedwagon is going to …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – First Big Batch Of Screenshots Released

It’s a Friday (in Australia). The week has been long. You’ve been run through the gauntlet. You’re ready to give in…Dont, because Bandai Namco Games are here to pump you back up for what I’ll assume is an awesome weekend to come by releasing the first true batch of screenshots from the upcoming tag team battle brawler “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven” and, let me just say…they’re looking damn fine, baby! Obviously you’ve heard of this new game right? You havn’t?! Well, let me catch you up: Remember that game “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle”? It came out last year and although it lacked much in terms of story mode content and stages it did feature some of the more popular characters from the series and went off, more or less, with a bang. “Eyes Of Heaven” is basically a sequel. What’s changed? Well you can new choose to make your own fighting duo who can come together to perform tag techniques, so that’s pretty exciting! Something else set to feature in the new …

We will be detailing which series you should watch, which series you should consider and which series you should avoid all means necessary. So without further adieu, here is SnapThirty’s handy Winter 2015 anime season watch guide. Watch These are the series that look to be the cream of the crop, these are the series that you must watch: Death Parade (Madhouse, January 10th) In 2014 we were treated to something rather unique in the anime world, a billiards anime. Now here we stand at the threshold of 2015 with that very same OVA now getting a full fledged series. Death Billiards (as the OVA was known) was a suspenseful thriller that saw two unlikely bar flies finding themselves wrapped up in the most important game of bar room billiards of their lives. Now that same concept will become a full length series. What possibilities await leaves me highly curious for this upcoming …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders Teases Return

That’s right travel buddies, that ragtag group of intrepid adventurers is heading back to your screens. Having finally made it to Egypt, JoJo v3 and crew are prepped and ready to take down the infamous Dio Brando and save Holly Kujo, the one person in the entire JoJo universe who is unable to cope with the power of a stand (but that’s a complaint for another day). But of course if you know the franchise, this final Stardust arc is set to introduce a character of great importance, one who stand stronger than even Jotaro himself (or so he claims). Of course I can be talking of only one person, a hero of the ages and champion of all: Iggy…the dog. So watch your faces and ready some coffee flavoured gum because this canine is ready to stand beside the manly men of the the JoJo brigade. Oh yeah, also there’s some other new characters in the trailer…I think they’re bad guys or something. -30-

Bandai Namco Games Announces “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven” Fighting Game

Di molto! It was announced today through Japan’s V-Jump Magazine that there’s a new “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” game on its way and goes by the name “Eyes Of Heaven”. Labelled a “follow up” to the PlayStation 3 fighting game “All-Star Battle”, “Eyes Of Heaven” is set for a release on both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, and will feature a character roster similar to the original game but with some extra additions, two of which have already been revealed: The partial dinosaur Diego Brando (“Steel Ball Run”) and the worlds least-hated Nazi soldier Rudol Von Stroheim (“Battle Tendency”), though if this game is anything like “All-Star Battle”…those names will probably be changed by the time it gets localised. Diego will be voiced by Takehito Koyasu and Stroheim will be voiced by Atsushi Imaruoka, but as far as information on the new game comes…that’s about all of it. There is a new battle mechanic called the “Dual Heat Attack” which leads me to believe we’ll be able to perform combination techniques of some calibre but that’s yet to …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders – Iggy’s Voice Actress Revealed

Surely by this point in time you’ve read, watched or even heard about the long-running Shonen series’ JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’. Now I’ve you’re a big fan of the site and are constantly reading our articles or listening to our podcasts, you’ll know that we at SnapThirty have a serious love-hate relationship with the work of Hirohiko Araki. It was only about a month or so ago that the first half of the ‘Stardust Crusaders’ Anime adaptation ended but it shall return sometime in the next year. Slated to be introduced in the very first episode of the next cour, of which there is to be a complete four, is a character close to each of our hearts; a little dog named Iggy. Named after Iggy Pop and not the Australian musical sensation Iggy Azalea, this dog believes himself stronger than even Jotaro, or so we’re told. This Boston Terrier is so strong, in fact, he even has himself a Stand by the name of The Fool. Well now Iggy has more than just a Stand …

The Snap, Crackle and Pop Culture Show: Let’s Go To Japan

The boys hit the SnapCouch once again to talk all things Anime, Manga and Video Games. A holiday to Japan is what’s on their minds this episode as they talk about the games and series’ that portray the great country in the most attractive ways. Kane finally joins the crew in his very first SnapThirty video and, despite his aversion to sitting between Frank and Luke, manages to keep his composure. We need a vacation. Let’s go to Japan! -30-

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure author does Ice Bucket Challenge

In a bizarre turn of events, Hirohiko Araki the author of the epic shonen manga JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has participated in the charity challenge craze that has swept the globe, the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS Research. ALS is of course Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis which is also known as Motor Neurone Disease. Many celebrities have participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge which involves having a bucket of Ice Water dumped on your head after you donate to the ALS research charity. Stand Proud With These New “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” Hoodies From “Beams”

I’m going to make a broad assumption and say that all of you reading this right now are absolutely following the new season of ‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’ titled ‘Stardust Crusaders’ as it airs over in Japan. Despite it’s countless plot holes and mostly-intolerable characters, I’d say it is still the series a most look forward to watching each and every week. Perhaps I wont openly admit it but, deep down in the cockles of my semi-frozen heart I know it to be true. I know for a fact that every ‘JJBA’ fan has thought about having their very own ‘Stand’ ability which, if you don’t know, is a psychic-type power that most of the characters in ‘Stardust Crusaders’ (as well as all the characters in later stories) possess and constantly use to their advantage…even if it is in weird and less-than-desirable ways. Well clothing manufacturer Beams have, over the weekend, opened up pre-orders for their newest line of Anime-based clothing and it just so happens to feature the three main ‘Stands’ of the currently-running ‘Stardust …

OH MY GOD! It has been announced through the official twitter account of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime series that the anime adaptation of the Stardust Crusaders arc will be put on break following its second cour’s conclusion until January 2015. It is expected that the series will wrap up this second cour at 24 episodes, setting up for the Egypt portion of the Stardust Crusaders arc. Stay tuned as more information surfaces on this developing story. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 1 to be published by Viz Media, rest of series being considered

Who is excited? YES I AM! The reason being that Viz Media have confirmed that they will indeed be releasing JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 1: Phantom Blood, with Volume 1 of the manga epic to hit shelves in February 2015. This is big news for fans of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series, a series that has only ever had it’s third arc released in English language manga format in the past and heavily edited at that. While it is unknown whether we will be subject to visual edits, one can presume there will be some name changes made considering the large amount of copyrighted names used in the series. To make the announcement even sweeter, Viz Media also confirmed that they are considering releasing the rest of the series and that they have further announcements to make regarding future releases at Anime Expo on July 3rd. So of course keep your eyes tuned right here for when that news is dropped by Viz Media. Also Viz please release Part 4: Diamond is not Crash, thank …
