Switchin’ It Up – Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition – Humble Opinions

In 1320, Dante Alighieri finished The Divine Comedy. His epic poem dealt with humanity’s relationship with sin and presented a representation of the journey towards spiritual understanding. In 2001, Hideki Kamiya helmed a project that punched up the script a little; eventuating in a few more iterations, the third of which we shall be specifically speaking. Now, I won’t say that somebody of Alighieri’s literary magnitude would unequivocally love the work which took nominative inspiration from his poem…but he’d be crazy not to appreciate a game that has a guitar-scythe in it. Like, a guitar that is also a scythe. I don’t care what era you’re from, that’s cool. Now, if a guitar-scythe is up your proverbial alley, then boy are you going to love this game. Just in case you didn’t know, Devil May Cry 3 is all about style (as were its predecessors). If the protagonist wearing a red leather trench coat wasn’t proof enough, then…just, everything else will be. I mean, the entire opening brawl consists of Dante beating up demons with …

The Attendees of SMASH! 2015 – Cosplay Compilation

The cosplay community is a large, thriving collection of incredibly dedicated and hard-working fans of pop culture. Preparing months (sometimes even years) in advanced, these men and women put countless hours into constructing costumes modelled after their favorite characters from the world of pop culture, but…come on, you know this already, right? Cosplay has been around for many, many years. It’s so popular in the modern age that I honestly cannot imagine it ever dulling in popularity…nor should it. At every pop culture convention, one of the more amazing sights is that of a crowd of cosplayers not only enjoying their own costumes but the costumes of others and the convention itself. When it comes to prime cosplayers, it seems as though SMASH! truly is the place to be. Each and every year the quality of cosplay you see on the show grounds continues to grow ever higher, with those living the dedicated cosplay lifestyle continuing to develop as craftsmen and craftswomen. SMASH! 2015 was no different. Each and every cosplayer present put clear effort into their …

Dressed to Impress – Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition Showcases Playable Trish

If there’s one thing Devil May Cry has going for it, apart from the chaotic combat, it’s style. From the characters to the actual fighting mechanics, this franchise wants you to dispatch demons with flair. To help with said goal, Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition is providing a larger roster of playable characters who all possess their own definitions of style. In this vein, Capcom has released a nice little demo video that showcases a few of the combos that the near ever present Trish will bring to the battlefield. Slice and dice foes with the Sword of Sparda, dole out some long range justice with Luce and Ombra, or keep it nice and personal with some lightning charged dive kicks. There’s more than enough there for you to mix and match your carnage. The Devil Trigger also remains when playing as Trish although, instead of transforming her into a demonic reflection of herself, it simply gives her a power boost and sweet pair of shades. Still cool though. An earlier demo video also provided …

First Batch Of Screenshots Released For Project X Zone 2

People love crossover titles. This is something I’ve always believed. The fact that Project X Zone is getting a sequel is just another sign that my belief is one that is more concrete than many others. There’s no one on the face of the Earth that doesn’t enjoy a bit of cross series, cross platform, cross generation battling, and anyone that days they don’t like that is a damn liar! Excuse my little rant, I get very passionate when it comes to games like this. Monolith Soft, the company behind the development of the game, have today released the very first batch of screenshots from the upcoming crossover sequel. Looking similar to the original game but sporting some nice new differences, Project X Zone 2: Brave New World looks like it’s going to feature a bunch of new characters from video games not featured at all in the first game. The most noticeable is Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima from Sega’s Yakuza series. Alongside the new characters there are some old favorites like Megaman X, …

DmC: Devil May Cry & Devil May Cry 4 Set for PS4/XBox One Release

Get ready to dust off your revolvers and bust out the style because everybody’s favourite red cloaked demon slayer is back in action…kinda. Well, it’s action you’ve seen before but at 60 frames-per-second in 1080p…so it’s better. That’s right folks both DmC: Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 4 are headed to the next/current generation of home consoles in what are being respectively labelled Definitive and Special Editions. As one might expect from the use of the word definitive, the new release DmC will feature all previous DLC, along with a few additional extras. So trade in red for blue and delve into Vergil’s Bloody Palace Mode, switching up protagonists and carrying on the story of Dante’s twin brother. Those who feel like challenging themselves, or those who just enjoy a masochistic gameplay experience, can check out the Gods Must Die difficulty, Must Style Mode and Hardcore Mode, which is set to play more like classic Devil May Cry games. Which blends nicely with the newly available classic costumes for the twin brothers. Capcom has …
