Terror of Spiders and the Garbage Man – Resident Evil 3 – Humble Opinions

At the age of fifteen, I found myself with a bargain bin copy of Resident Evil 3 for PC; however, like Resident Evil 2, I couldn’t get past the first area. Not out of fear this time, for some reason the controls wouldn’t work on my keyboard—this I believe was due to some incompatibilities between the game and my PC. So, much like Resident Evil 2, my only experience with the game was flaming zombies making their way towards an immobile face-meal—preparing to eat me alive. It was another Resident Evil that I didn’t get to fully experience in my youth, and another horror I had to overcome. After playing through Resident Evil 2, I felt the next battle to face was Resident Evil 3. I decided to jump straight into the Resident Evil 3 remake without much of a break in between. Leon and Claire’s story has ended; however, Jill and Miguel’s…sorry…Carlos’ was still a big blind spot to me in the RE universe. In the Resident Evil 3 you play as Jill, of …

A Romantic First Date – Resident Evil 2 – Humble Opinions

When I was but a wee little child, I had accrued several PS1 Demo discs—which I believe I obtained from convincing my parents that magazines were good for me. They were like books: educational! Or maybe the true reality was I kept annoying the high holy hell out of them until they gave in. Either way, one demo disc in particular had the starting level of Capcom’s original 1998 survival horror game Resident Evil 2. I didn’t know what Resident Evil was, or the fact that it was a horror game, but I was to learn. I was to learn fast. A cop, Leon, navigating through the fire-y, zombie-torn streets. I wasn’t used to the tank like controls, shooting, or survival mechanics of the game, which meant Leon quickly got overwhelmed with the undead (and his face bitten off). A 10-year-old Matt got overwhelmed and scarred for life. Fast track to 2020, where a grown 26-year-old faced his childhood fear of getting his face bit off by playing the 2020 modernised remake of Resident Evil …

Street Fighter V Introduces Us To New Fighter: Kolin

I’m a simple man, and therefor don’t know much about the world around me. Something I know for certain though is that the world in question is run by an elite series of hyper human beings known as the Illuminati. They’ve got their God-like hands in everything; music, television, film, food products…I assume. Nothing will stop their reign! Apart from, like, Ken or something. A martial artists can probably thwart this secret governing society. Actually, I’m fairly certain that they have before. Street Fighter III saw the introduction of a brand-new villain; Gill, who was once actually the leader of the aforementioned shadow organisation; the Illuminati. Now while you may assume that I’m on the verge of revealing that he himself is to appear as a new playable character in the already released Street Fighter V…you’d assume wrong. It is, instead, his silent assistant Kolin who will be joining the roster for the latest instalment of playable characters. Yes, Kolin is her name, and fighting for the Illuminati is her game. Revealed by Capcom just …

Capcom Reveal Monster Hunter XX and Sailor Moon Collaboration For Upcoming Game

At this point in time, no one is shocked that the latest in the long series of Monster Hunter titles, Monster Hunter XX, is already collaborating with other popular franchises. The last few games in the series had countless tie-ins with not only Nintendo-owned and other Capcom IPs but also Anime series like Ushio and Tora, Fairy Tail, Yowamushi Pedal, and others that are far too abundant to list. Well, Monster Hunter XX hasn’t even been released yet, and already Capcom are revealing ANOTHER collaboration for the upcoming game, and despite how bizarre they have been in the past…nobody expected this: It’s Sailor Moon’s 25th anniversary, and to celebrate you will be able to dress your very own Palico up like the series’ own flagship feline; Luna! Alongside a Luna skin for your cat companion, a weapon (only able to be equipped to the Palico) called the Cutie Moon Rod from the series will also be made available. On top of that, this collaboration will also gift you with a Guild Card Background also reminiscent of …

Ultra Street Fighter II Commemorates 30 Years of Fighting Excellence

Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers is one of the major releases planned for the Nintendo Switch in 2017, and it’s every bit as desirable as Splatoon 2 and Super Mario Odyssey. In fact, the resurgence of games like Street Fighter and Bomberman (in the form of Super Bomberman R) is the reason why the Switch is a true return to gaming’s humble and exciting roots. Watch the trailer of Ultra Street Fighter II, you can see clips of the launch of Street Fighter II Turbo on the SNES early on, and man was that a magical thing to experience firsthand. What’s great is that we get to relive that magic once more on the Switch, and just in time for the 30th Anniversary of the Street Fighter franchise (25 years for the flagship Street Fighter II itself). Ultra Street Fighter II looks to reinvigorate the gamer of yesteryear, and unite them with the current crop of fighting fans who have been enthralled by the likes of the hugely successful Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter V …

Premiere Gameplay Trailer Released For Marvel VS Capcom Infinite

Now that it has been officially revealed and the world is excited for the upcoming crossover title Marvel VS Capcom Infinite, it’s time that we start seeing more of what this new addition to the much-loved series of fighting video games has to offer. To end this year’s Capcom Cup tournament as a part of the PlayStation Experience conference, Capcom released the very first gameplay trailer for Marvel VS Capcom Infinite featuring the same four fighters that were present in the game’s reveal trailer which was only released yesterday. Alongside footage of X, Ryu, Captain Marvel, and Ironman brawling, Capcom also released quite a fair bit of information regarding the game’s new mechanics, the most exciting of which is the removal of 3-hero teams to instead only accommodate 2, and the implementing of a new in-battle mechanic that allows players to harness the power of the Marvel universe’s Infinity Stones, each representing a different type of power. Reborn Rivalries: Universes collide once again in this all-new crossover clash for the ages, where players select their …

Live And Let Die! Sony Officially Reveals Marvel VS Capcom Infinite

It was only a few days ago that we at SnapThirty reported on a rumour circulating the web that speculated on the release of a Marvel VS Capcom 4. As part of the rumour it was explained that the official reveal would come as a part of the 2016 PlayStation Experience conference, and that it would be made available sometime in 2017. Well, we’re currently at the back end of this year’s PlayStation Experience, and just as the rumour explained; a new Marvel VS Capcom has officially been announced. As expected, the reveal was delivered in the form of a short teaser trailer that depicted what many assume to be the flagship fighters of this particular iteration duking it out 2-on-2. On the Marvel side is none other than Ironman but surprisingly supported by a more recent fan favorite Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers). Those two are pit against new Capcom mascot Ryu (Street Fighter) fighting alongside a familiar face with a shiny new body; X (Mega Man X). The group of four go head-to-head-to-head-to-head for a good …

RUMOUR: Marvel Vs Capcom 4 Planned For a 2017 Release?

Rumours are brilliant because even though you know for a certain that there’s a high chance they mean nothing, it still excited and delights you in ways that most other things simply cannot. I love a good rumour, but that may only be because I’m quite the gossip, regardless it’s this particular one that has me in pure elation! If you’ve ever played a video game, like, ever than you’d know about a little series called Marvel VS Capcom; it’s a set of fighting titles that literally pit characters from the Marvel Universe against video games legends like Ryu, Megaman, and Dante. So far, the count is at three Marvel VS Capcom games, but an interesting rumour circulating the web is telling us that there will soon be a fourth! Perhaps…remember, this is just a rumour. Pop culture website Polygon recently released an article stating that Marvel VS Capcom 4 will indeed be released in 2017, with their sources being many and mysterious. This, my friends, is why I must state that this news is nothing …

Tokyo Game Show 2016 – Capcom Low-Key Announces Live-Action “Monster Hunter” Film Adaptation

I write articles like this all the time, with most of them beginning much the same way as this. I address how ridiculous the concept of a live-action film related to the specific subject is, I then discuss, simplistically, what a film of this calibre would be like, and then I make sure to reiterate that nobody saw this coming, and yet here I am legitimately baffled by the idea that Capcom have given a Hollywood film studio the rights to adapt this long-running series of monster-slaying video games in a live-action full-length film. Truly, we never saw this one coming. In all honesty, there isn’t a great deal of meat to this news considering, well…it doesn’t actually seem like it was meant to be revealed, at least not in this manner. Tokyo Game Show 2016 is currently being held and, like with previous years, each company has their time in the spotlight and is given a chance to excite crowds with news on upcoming games, by revealing new projects, by confirming release dates, etc. …

Capcom Reveals Mega Man’s Design For Upcoming Animated Series

It’s been quite a while since the last time we heard any type of news regarding this new Mega Man animated television series project, in fact, the last time we did hear from Capcom regarding it…it was to announce it’s existence, and that was quite some time ago. The series, to be written and spearheaded by Ben 10’s Man Of Action, was revealed only to then quickly fade into obscurity some time later resurfacing to reveal the very first visual from the series, and that time is now! Capcom, in conglomeration with Dentsu Entertainment USA and DHX Media, have revealed the design of the series’ protagonist Mega Man alongside some information about the series that, depending on who you are, may delight or infuriate you. This series, despite it’s title, will not be the same Mega Man you’ve known and loved since the 90s. The character you see above is not a robot called Rock that is made into Mega Man through excessive body augmentation for the sake of battling Doctor Wiley’s Robot Masters, he is …

Your Wish, Their Command – Capcom Reveals Protoman Helmet Replica

In July of 2015, Capcom revealed to the world that they had opened up pre-orders for the item fans of Megaman have been waiting on all their lives; a full-scale replica helmet of the Blue Bomber himself. This expensive piece of merchandise was comfortably wearable, it was greatly detailed, and certain features would light up, making this the perfect replica of our hero’s helmet. Well, since then, the helmet has been released across the world, being put up for sale on Capcom’s official site, as well as in stores such as Australia’s own Zing; pop culture merchandise retailer. It’s price tag in the triple digits, nobody thought the helmet would sell as well as it did. So well, in fact, that Capcom had absolutely no choice but to begin working on a secondary replica helmet, this time one based on that of the original mentally-independent android; Protoman. It’s not often that Capcom will listen to the words of their audience, but seeing as the Megaman replica helmet made so much money, it was an easy …

Online Street Fighter V Players Will Finally Begin Being Penalised For “Rage Quitting”

When you buy a game, be it for the single player campaign reasons or otherwise, chances are you’re going to go ahead and try it’s online mode. With fighting games like the Street Fighter and Tekken series, only the best of the best dare step foot into the arena of the World Wide Web. Me? I choose never to try and contest those who have the guts to jump into online matchmaking and hold their own against the countless powerful opponents that sit at the other end of their Wi-Fi connection. It’s a daunting place that casual gamers like myself should never dare venture, but for you seasoned fighters…it’s just another feature of the game to be dominated. With things like online multiplayer also comes the aggressive art of “Rage Quitting“; an act mostly executed by “gamer” types that allows the user to escape from a situation by simply exclaiming that they are indeed upset, and leaving whatever game it is that they’re currently playing. It is a technique easy to learn, but almost impossible …

It’s Time To Fight Back! – Capcom Reveals Hyper-Interactive Attack On Titan Arcade Game

Time Crisis, House Of The Dead, Gunslinger Stratos. What do all these games have in common? Well, they’re all arcade games played with replica firearms as the controllers. They’re also incredibly popular around the world, barring Gunslinger Stratos which is a Japan-only game that is so beloved I had no choice but to mention it at least once. Over in the great land of Nippon, across the weekend, there is an event being held titled the Japan Amusement Expo which, in case you havn’t already figured out; is a convention-like event wherein which companies can showcase some of their brand-new/upcoming products, all of which stand for one purpose; to entertain people. Capcom, being the weird and wonderful publishers that they are, revealed something a little out of “left field” with their new arcade machine titled Attack On Titan: Team Battle. Now, what’s so weird about this? Well, Tecmo Koei are in the midst of releasing their very own Attack On Titan home console game, so you’d imagine that they would also be handling all other video …

[Update] Street Fighter V’s New Character Laura Leaked Thanks To Famitsu Mishap

Not coming as any surprise to fans of the long-running fighting game series Street Fighter, it was only a few days ago that Capcom announced the return of the Red Cyclone, Zangief, the the roster of their upcoming game Street Fighter V. Those in the Zangief fan club cheered in delight, but those looking to get some information an another brand-new character winced in disappointment…until Famitsu accidentally released a set of screenshots showcasing the not-yet-announced new character Laura instead of the aforementioned Zangief who was meant to be the star of the featured gallery. Wearing all green and looking strikingly similar to Australia’s very own Megan Gale (Valkyrie – Mad Max: Fury Road), it was clear that this character was not at all the hulking Russian mass known as Zangief. Famitsu quickly took the pictures down…but unfortunately not quick enough to erase it from the internet; something I’m fairly certain is near impossible. We now know that her name is indeed Laura and fans of the series across the internet who know a little about true-to-life …

Project X Zone 2: Brave New World Hits Australia And New Zealand February 2016

Yeah, it’s fine knowing that a game like Project X Zone 2 exists, but what’s better is knowing exactly when you’ll be able to get your hands on it and experience it for yourself. For a while now, us living outside of Japan have had the privilege of being able to witness this upcoming crossover title from afar; watching Japanese trailers, seeing Japanese screenshots, etc. Bandai Namco Entertainment Australia have decided that Aussie (and Kiwi) fans of the new game and it’s wonderfully-developed predecessor deserve to know exactly when they’ll be able to see this game on local shelves. Unfortunately it’s still a while away…but at least we know when to expect it.  Mark it on your calendars, people! The 19th of February, 2016! That’s the official release date for Project X Zone 2: Brave New World across Australia and New Zealand on the Nintendo 3DS, and the day you’ll be ringing your boss pretending to be sick so that you can get the day all to yourself. Sure, you have plenty of time to play …

Upper-Class Fighter – Karin Kanzuki Joins The Roster Of Street Fighter V

Tokyo Game Show 2015 has just begun and, in standard open ceremony-style celebration, Capcom have already revealed another character for their upcoming PlayStation 4 and PC exclusive Street Fighter V. To add to the other fighters who’re making a return to the Street Fighter franchise after falling into obscurity after Street Fighter Alpha 3, Karin Kanzuki has just been announced as the latest character to be added to the Street Fighter V roster. Like the rest of the cast, she’s earned herself a visual upgrade, both costume and graphics-wise, so looking at her duke it out with the other new members of the Street Fighter crew will be even sweeter! Alongside the announcement itself comes a trailer featuring the classy girl in all her fancy action, kicking the ever-living crap out of new character Rashid, which we have provided for you just below. Street Fighter V is set for a 2016 release across the world for, once again, the PlayStation 4 and PC. -30-

Capcom Announces Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Anime Adaptation

It’s the Anime adaptation we’ve all been waiting for. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is a series of video games with more titles than you could point at stick at, and enough fans across the world to have kept it alive and well for many years, with no end in sight. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is so popular that it’s pop culture reach spreads across many mediums: From Manga to live-action film, the Ace Attorney franchise has it’s hands in it all, except for Anime, oddly enough. That is…until today! Capcom have announced that they are currently producing an Anime series based upon the long-running video game series which is to air across Japan in April of 2016. Judging from the image of the announcement panel from Tokyo Game Show 2015, it looks as though the Anime will cover, at least, the very first Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney video game. Hopes are that the Anime continues long after the events of the first game, covering everything up to date…but that may be a little TOO hopeful. …

Sega’s Promotional Character Segata Sanshiro Revealed For Project X Zone 2

Here’s a real Japanese pop culture knowledge test, one that I failed, and one that I think will put a smile on your face regardless of whether or not you’re aware of this particular character. In Japan, from 1997 to 1998, there was this television marketing gimmick organised by Sega to advertise their powerful new product of the time; the Sega Saturn. Like many advertising campaigns throughout history, this particular Sega Saturn line of comedic commercials featured a legendary, fictional, Judo master that went by the name Segata Sanshiro who, for that two year period, was essentially the face of the Sega Saturn. This hard-core fighter would travel the land, literally punishing those who would not play the Sega Saturn, as if it was by law. This video game vigilante was seen as one hell of force to be reckoned with, and seemingly the perfect promotional character for the Sega Saturn; a system that, apparently, demanded to be enjoyed. It’s now 2015, and there’s a video game sequel on the way called Project X Zone …

A Phoenix Wright Game Like No Other – Ace Attorney 6 Revealed

Here’s some amazing news for your Wednesday morning: Not only have Capcom just revealed the very next instalment in the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series of video games, but they also confirmed it’s Western localisation. This type of thing doesn’t always happen, especially when it comes to Japanese titles like Ace Attorney. Simply titled Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 6, this upcoming game finds titular character Phoenix Wright heading off-shore to a mysterious country where people insist on believing in the supernatural powers of those deceased. Surely this will come into play during the many long trials ahead for this Ace Attorney who gets roped into a series of cases almost instantly upon arrival in the mysterious land. Much like the other games in the series, Ace Attorney 6 will feature an updated set of gameplay mechanics, none more exciting than that of the Water Mirror feature that, although yet to be properly detailed, is assured to be of great help during most trials. Speaking of help; Wright will make himself a new friend in a …

Rainbow Mika Revealed As Playable Character For Street Fighter V

I’ll let you in on a little secret, reader; back when I was a young man and I had just gotten my hands on a copy of Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max…I had a serious crush on the bodacious professional wrestler Rainbow Mika. Maybe it was her long blonde hair, maybe it was her revealing outfit, or maybe it was her signature technique the Flying Peach, whatever the case, this fictional character stole my young heart and, since then, I’ve made sure to always leave a place open for her when she chooses to make her return to the fighting arena…which is now. Capcom have just announced the return of R. Mika for Street Fighter V with a fantastic and exciting trailer that shows off her next generation looks as well as her devastating wrestling style that seems to now involve getting a helping hand from another powerful grappler. What’s better than a single Flying Peach? How about two?! Alongside the announcement trailer, Capcom also released a fairly detailed explanation of not only her character …

Halcyon Daze: Episode One – Looking Back On Megaman

The start of a new series of SnapThirty videos, Halcyon Daze takes audiences through the younger days of the SnapThirty crew as they discuss some of the Animes, Mangas, Television Shows and Video Games that made up a great deal of their childhood. On the first episode, Frank takes viewers on a wild ride through the fictional timeline of Keiji Inafune’s Megaman. From the original games to the new animated television series, follow Frank as he rants, raves, and rambles on about the magical franchise that made up most of his childhood. -30-

Fight Like An Animal – Mysterious Street Fighter V Character Necalli Revealed

Not too long ago, Capcom announced that the classic Street Fighter character Ken Masters is set to return to the battlefield for their upcoming title Street Fighter V. At the very end of his introduction trailer a mysterious figure was shown, one that caught the eye of many fans of the series, and one that could not be properly figured out. Some believed that it was the demon fighter Akuma, while others (most notably Luke) believed that it was some odd version of Blanka seeing as Capcom had hinted at his return for the new game. No matter which of the older characters you thought it would be…you’d be very much wrong because this marked man is someone you’ve never seen before. Named Necalli, this creature-like fighter brings an air of ferocity to the World Warrior Tournament. Unlike many of the other fighters in the game’s long list, Necalli does not have a style of his own, instead he fights using nothing but his basic animal instincts and a strange yet powerful ability that changes not …

Changing The Game – Street Fighter V Kicks Purchasable DLC To The Curb

Buying and playing a video game should be as simple as buying and playing it, but that is no longer the case. We live in an age wherein which video games are released incomplete. Us, the players, are forced to update time and time again thanks to new features added to a new title weeks after initial release. Some of these updates are known as DLC and some of the developers behind the games practically force the players to use even more real-life money to add to a game that, for all intents and purposes, should have been complete upon release. Capcom has mastered this style of money-making with it’s more recent Street Fighter titles that are released over and over again with mostly the same content bar maybe a handful of new characters and playable stages, so why have they decided to make a change with Street Fighter V? We have no idea, but it’s damn exciting that they have! Capcom has released a great deal of information regarding their upcoming title Street Fighter V, …

If Looks Could Kill – Ken Masters Returns For Street Fighter V

Oh yes! San Diego Comic Con has officially kicked off and that means you’ll all have to start preparing yourself for an onslaught of awesome news and even more exciting reveals coming fresh from panels across the convention. The first big Japanese title to get itself an SDCC update is Street Fighter V which will, of course, see the return of Ken Masters, so sayeth the trailer shown at Capcom’s panel. The “new” Ken Masters appears sporting a brand-new fighting attire alongside a sick half-ponytail so most, but not all, of his golden locks obscure his vision while he fire kicks his opponents to near death. Great thing is; more than just Ken’s appearance has been changed, his fighting style is now very much different to that of Ryu which will piss off some old-school fans and excite others. I’m one of the others. While still being able to rock a Hadouken, Ken’s style has changed to be a little more, let’s say, “flashy” which you’ll see once you watch the introduction trailer provided below. …

Capcom’s Official Mega Man Helmet Replica Looks Beyond Awesome

A while back, the pop culture product developer and manufacturer ThinkGeek updated their online store to include a very special Mega Man item that was big enough to be worn and extraordinary enough to be displayed in front of as many people as you could possibly think of. This was the official Mega Man Mega Buster full-sized replica which was released and sold out quicker than you could say “Blue Bomber“. The perfect item for Mega Man fanatics and those wishing to cosplay as the mighty robot alike, this item was released at an affordable price making celebrating the life of the super fighting robot so easy. San Diego Comic Con is only a day away and that means thousands of people are preparing to battle the crowds as they head into the world famous convention to hit all the celebrity panels, catch all the great news releases, and pick up as much loot as they can possibly hold. Capcom, as a part of the SDCC celebrations, have revealed that they will be showcasing a brand new …

Leaked Videos Confirm Roy And Ryu As Upcoming Playable Characters In Super Smash Bros. For Wii U And 3DS

The Electronic Entertainment Expo, also known as E3, is coming up and with the large event comes a whole bunch of exciting video game news from across the board. Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, they all bring their best to the yearly exhibition which means they usually save the very best news to release it when the whole gaming world is watching, but no company is safe from leaks and the general gaming audience loves it when a huge piece of news drops before scheduled time. Two short videos have now begun circulating the web which show both Ryu from Capcom’s incredibly popular fighting series Street Fighter and Roy from Intelligent Systems‘ famed RPG Fire Emblem going head-to-head with the already sizeable cast of the new Super Smash Bros. title which has been available for the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS for quite some time. These videos have come about thanks to the early release of the game’s next big update which has now been made available in Japan…not on purpose, of course. As with any added content, the …

Capcom Announces Mega Man Legacy Collection, Fans Not Impressed

Talk to enough people about Mega Man and you’ll soon come to realise the Blue Bomber is close to being pretty much dead. Fact is; it has been this way for quite some time, which makes it even more unfortunate. Some will say the kid robot still has what it takes to match more contemporary video game mascots but Capcom has already replaced him with Street Fighter’s Ryu and the man that created him no longer works for the company…so yeah. Capcom, in an attempt to satiate the fans’ need for the side-scrolling legend, have announced a new video game collection that compiles the first six Mega Man games in the series’ lineup. You’d think this would be pretty exciting for those of us out there who still very much love the series, but…you’d be wrong. After surfing the web for a bit, scouring comment sections and forums, I’ve come to understand that this attempt at reviving Mega Man has not worked entirely in Capcom’s favour. While few people showed genuine interest in the collection, …

X Marks The Spot – Capcom And Nintendo Announce Monster Hunter X

You somehow made your way through Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, good on you! I couldn’t. I tried…but I simply wasn’t good enough. You though, you’re something else! You’re a G-Rank Hunter and you should be proud of that. Like any industry veteran, you decide that it’s time to retire now that you’ve reached the top. You hang up your greaves and you start living the life of maybe a successful shop owner instead. It’s now time for you to relax. The months go buy and all of the sudden you hear word of a new Monster Hunter title…what? You thought you were out of the business for good, but this new game…this new Monster Hunter game…it’s hooked you. You thought you were out but it’s pulled you back in! You grab your previously hung-up greaves and rush out the door ready for new adventures! Once a Hunter, always a Hunter! Nintendo and Capcom, over the weekend, revealed that there’s a brand-new mainstream Monster Hunter title in the works that goes by the name Monster Hunter X. …

Mega Man X Kidrobot Vinyl Figures Hitting Shelves This Summer

There’s nothing that says “retro” more than some vinyl merchandise. We live in a modern age wherein which vinyl is no longer used to house musical tracks. Though actual vinyl albums still do exist, the soft plastic is now used for much more decorative purposes, namely the creation of figures and figurines. Your favorite characters from your favorite movies, television shows, comics, Anime, Manga, video games are all now immortalised in vinyl. Walk into any store that sells pop culture merchandise and you’re sure to be overwhelmed by the sight of just so much vinyl. I’m getting a little overwhelmed simply typing the word “vinyl” so many times in this article. Kidrobot, one of the modern day’s leading producers of designer toys, announced a year ago that they’re going to fuse their vinyl stylings with another old-school favorite who is, funnily enough, made entirely from metal. Kids, Mega Man is a small, blue robot who was created to fight against a bunch of other, sometimes small robots who’re programmed to send the world into a state …

Clash of Characters – Project X Zone 2 Adds Some New Faces

In the ever so popular realm of cross over titles, Project X Zone 2 has recently made it known that a few newbies will be joining the worl blending fray. Well, they’re not newbies per se, in fact they’ve been around for quite some time…just not in the X Zone world. But now they are. Thus, with little to no further ado, I shall list these characters below. SEGA Sakura Wars Sakura Shingujio Gemini Sunrise Streets of Rage Axel Stone CAPCOM Street Fighter Ryu Ken Masters Ace Attorney Phoenix Right Maya Fey Bandai Namco God Eater Ciel Alencon Nana Kazuki Summon Night Aty So there you have it, some new allies to help you fight evil come 2015 (the as of now vague release date for the game). In the mean time, why not enjoy some scenic shots of the nifty locales you are sure to visit on your series hopping quest. Can you guess where they’re from? -30-

First Batch Of Screenshots Released For Project X Zone 2

People love crossover titles. This is something I’ve always believed. The fact that Project X Zone is getting a sequel is just another sign that my belief is one that is more concrete than many others. There’s no one on the face of the Earth that doesn’t enjoy a bit of cross series, cross platform, cross generation battling, and anyone that days they don’t like that is a damn liar! Excuse my little rant, I get very passionate when it comes to games like this. Monolith Soft, the company behind the development of the game, have today released the very first batch of screenshots from the upcoming crossover sequel. Looking similar to the original game but sporting some nice new differences, Project X Zone 2: Brave New World looks like it’s going to feature a bunch of new characters from video games not featured at all in the first game. The most noticeable is Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima from Sega’s Yakuza series. Alongside the new characters there are some old favorites like Megaman X, …

A Cute Look At A Harsh World – “Monster Hunter Stories” Announced For The Nintendo 3DS

Hey, wussies! Is Monster Hunter a little too hard for you huh? Oh you need something that’s a little easier for you? That doesn’t hurt your hands when you play it? That doesn’t make you cry like a little baby when you botch a Hunt? Well Capcom have just announced a new Monster Hunter spin-off that’ll have you counting EXP instead of how many deaths you have until mission failure. Monster Hunter Festa’ 2015 was held in Tokyo over this past weekend and it was at the tournament finals that this new game was announced. Titled Monster Hunter Stories, this new RPG title will take the world of Monster Hunter to a place I don’t believe it’s ever been before. Capcom stated that this is going to be an RPG title unlike any other and I think it’s simply because of the Monster Hunter setting. Unfortunately not much else was said about the game apart from that it will revolve around a different type of Monster Hunter class, the Monster Rider. These Riders are skilled but have chosen not …

Is “Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate” Really Coming To The Wii U Or Is This Just Another April Fool’s Hoax?

Today IS April Fool’s Day which ultimately means that anything you hear about, read about or are simply told about could possibly be just one huge lie. This is fantastic for those of us who report on Pop Culture news because it means that, chances are, on this day we’re more than likely totally wrong about everything we spend time writing about. April First is a day of pranks and laughs but it’s also a day of broken hopes and dreams. Why say all this? Well, to cover my own arse if I’m being entirely honest. There’s nothing more unforgivable than unreliable information delivered as God’s honest truth so in an attempt to close the gap between me, the article writer, and you, the reader, I have said what I have said. Now onto the actual news: A little image has surfaced today that could possibly mean the arrival of “Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate” to the Wii U. This image, which you can see to your left, is a crude photograph of what looks to be …

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate – Review

It all started back in 2004. That year the Earth was introduced to a brand-new threat, one that could prove detrimental to the enjoyable existence of human beings but one that is a necessity for it’s survival. The first Monster Hunter game hit the PlayStation 2 with one hell of a bang and ever since then it’s only grown more and more popular. Street Fighter V – Announcement and Gameplay Videos Released

Welcome to the world of “Street Fighter V”! Prepare for battle! Capcom has, over the weekend, confirmed a piece of leaked information regarding the next video game in the “Street Fighter” series and that is that this new game actually exists. As you can probably imagine, it’s called “Street Fighter V” and as a way to combat the leak Capcom has gone ahead and released an official announcement video as well as the very first piece of gameplay footage. The gameplay video, with no information regarding a release schedule apart from 2015, shows series mascot Ryu going up against femme fatale Chun-Li. At about a minute and a half long, this is a great trailer for the game especially seeing as, not that long ago, we didn’t even know it existed. The announcement trailer isa little less about the showing the new game and a lot more about the emotion behind a long-running franchise and the release of its newest title. That doesn’t make it any worse of a video though, in fact, I’m probably …

Laws aren’t just new things, you understand this right? It may seem like the past was filled with nothing but murderers, thieves and charlatans but I’m here to tell you that the stories are highly exaggerated. While the law wasn’t exactly enforced as strictly as it is now, Capcom are telling us that the past still had a need for a judicial system. The upcoming Nintendo 3DS title and the next game in the ‘Ace Attorney’ series. Titled ‘Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodou Ryuunosuke no Bouken’ or simplified as ‘The Great Ace Attorney’, this game will take place all the way back in the Meiji Era of Japan; a time of evolution and growth for the country. Monster Hunter 4 – Capcom Reveals Weapon Design Contest Winner

It was a while back and you may not remember but Capcom started up their very own weapon design contest for their upcoming video game release ‘Monster Hunter 4’. Though the game has already been released in Japan, Capcom decided that they would give their Western hunters a chance to be immortalized in the next big hunting title. The contest was opened up to designers from both North America and Europe with a European winner being announced a while back. This Hunting Horn titled, ‘The Emperor’s Speech, was designed to resemble a pig sitting on a throne which oinked when used. The winner from North America’s weapon design took a different route, trading comedy for ‘badassitude’, for lack of a better word. This glaive-type weapon is titled ‘Clockwork Contraption’ and comes with it’s very own robotic beetle…if having a huge steampunk spear wasn’t cool enough for you. This weapon will feature in the Western release of the game, alongside ‘The Emperor’s Speech’, which will get a release in North America and Europe on the Nintendo …

“Mega Man Battle Network” Wii U Release Date Revealed

Megaman.EXE is absolutely a program I’d love to have on my personal computer but, unfortunately, something that amazing has yet to have been developed though I’m hoping that some sort of P.E.T-style device will be put out on the market sometime in the near future. Now if you have no idea what I’m talking about, that’s ok, it just means you’re not a fan of the surprisingly highly-popular ‘Mega Man’ spinoff video game series ‘Battle Network’. This series takes ‘Mega Man’ and makes it entirely digital in ways somewhat reminiscent of the ‘Digimon’ franchise. Unlike the original line of ‘Mega Man’ titles, this series of GameBoy Advanced/Nintendo DS games this follows a version of Mega Man who isn’t quite a robot boy but he IS a pivotal part of a wave of futuristic technology that is sweeping the world. So in some ways he’s the same old Mega Man, just with a new twist. Follow the story of Lan, a young boy who must fight the forces of WWW (World Three) in order to save …
