All In – My Hero One’s Justice – Humble Opinions

Since the dawn of more-than-one-fictional-character-with-superpowers, people have longed to see them punch each other really hard. Not in a serious way, more in a no-holds-barred-no-consequences kind of way. Enter fighting games. The perfect opportunity for heroes and villains alike to test their mettle and meet in completely non-canon scenarios, wearing completely nonsensical clothing, all for the enjoyment of whoever so holds the controller. I mean, there usually is a story in there somewhere, but that tends to be drowned out by the aforementioned clashing of fictionally historical characters…or historically fictional characters…or a bear in a hat. With a concept so closely surrounding the idea of decking villainy until it says uncle, it was never too hard to foresee a fighting game featuring those lovable chaps from U.A. High. This is especially true if you knew about the one that already came out for the 3DS, but let’s not argue semantics. That being said, some concession may have been given to this Japan only predecessor, as One’s Justice focuses on the tale of My Hero Academia …

A Cat May Be A King – Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom – Humble Opinions

As a particularly musical lion cub once said: “I just can’t wait to be king.” Unfortunately, what tunes that have been lodged in your head since the 90s gloss over is, to be king means that the previous must die. It’s like Highlander rules, only with less Christopher Lambert. Such is the way of a monarchy and so shall it be forevermore…or until there’s a coup and some rat takes the throne, after having slowly poisoned the previous ruler over an unspecified amount of time due to a combination of their own insecurities and evil magic. Though the likelihood of that very specific chain of events occurring is, like, really low…probably. Welcome to the wonderfully named kingdom of Ding Dong Dell, a place where Grimalkin (cat people), Mousekin (mouse people) and Humanfolk (people people) all live together in peace and harmony under the kind rule of King Leonhard. Psych. As it turns out, Mousekin have felt perpetually repressed by their Grimalkin cousins and held a slow boiling hatred that finally bubbled over. Said scalding onslaught saw …

With a Bullet – Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet – Humble Opinions

When it comes to virtual reality, escapism is the name of the game. Unless the actual name of the game happens to be Sword Art Online or some variant thereof, then escapism flies right out of the proverbial window. Then it flies back in and makes you wonder what the stakes are in an adventure where dying in-game does not mean you die in real life. Then somebody forcibly throws it back out when they come to the same realisation and have a bunch of people die in real life again…but with guns. Welcome to Gun Gale Online, newbie. The hip happening VRMMO taking the fictional world by storm. Glocks are in and estocs are out as everybody leaves behind the worlds of swords and fantasy, replacing them with guns and science fiction. Not to be left behind, you (the player) have also made this leap and are ready to test your virtual mettle in a tournament of firepower, the reward for which is an exceedingly rare item that will make everybody else jealous. Of …

Heroes of Another Story – The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia – Humble Opinions

If there’s seven things I’ve learned, it’s that the mortal sins make for fun character archetypes. Not always as literal as the particular example soon to be delved, but even a glancing connection to the listed weaknesses of humanity is discernible. Is wrath entirely evil? Is greed perpetually consuming? Is lust destructive, or just really fun? It is these questions that intrigue and cause us all to ponder this veritable rainbow of corruption and how damning its light doth shine. Either that, or what dots must’ve connected to transform envy into a tsundere giant what swings a giant hammer. To put all my cards on the table, as one does in poker or something, I am quite a fan of The Seven Deadly Sins. I also like the series. But enough terrible jokes, The Seven Deadly Sins is a property that appeals to my personal style, with plot points generally unravelling in-line with my own ideas. That is to say, incredibly over-the-top and stupid moments that are more often than less often than not actually …

Butterflies Dream – Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory – Humble Opinions

Digimon. Digital Monsters, if you will. A fictitious collection of creatures that captured the hearts and minds of children long ago, by taking the concept of virtual pets and asking one simple question: What if they could fight? Then they did. Then there was an anime and they saved the world. Then they did it again. Then Chiaki J. Konaka got involved and things got dark. Then they got lighter. Then a few petitions cropped up and the video game side of the franchise reappeared in the Western market, resulting in another World and a rather interesting Story. However, we all know that stories are not one-sided endeavours, leading to yet another question asked and answered: What was happening, like, two meters to the left of the protagonist of Cyber Sleuth? Just so there are no misconceptions about what this game is, Hacker’s Memory is rather heavily tied into its predecessor in terms of both setting and story. Though the tale of this game is one unto itself, far too many references to Cyber Sleuth …

Appetite for Destruction – Dragon Ball FighterZ – Humble Opinions

As the old adage so delicately puts it: Dragon! Dragon! Rock The Dragon! Dragon Ball Z! As true now as it was back then, this infallible selection of 90’s lyrics goes to show the true artistry that lies at the core of Akira Toriyama’s famed creation. Of course, a true creator never remains content for long and the various people who have added their input to this franchise have created many a variation on the formula that is Dragon Ball Z. This time around, it’s Arc System Works’ turn and they have most certainly put their spin on the seven magic balls that we have all sought since we were young. Which is totally fine because you can see the stars no matter what angle you look at them, thanks to the magic way they were made and…I’ll just move onto the topic at hand. Dragon Ball FighterZ, the game that every fan wanted when they saw the artwork way back when and have only now figured out how to pronounce (like the word “fighters”). …

Digimon World: Next Order – Review

Japan, 1997: The Birth Of Digimon – Bandai took the world by storm with its Tamagotchi variant directed at young males. With a focus on training and fighting, it quickly became not only a great alternative to pet ownership but a competitive craze that would dominate the year as well as the few that followed. Japan, 1999: A Whole New World – Bandai releases Digimon World for the PlayStation. A spiritual follow-up to the Sega Saturn title Digital Monster Ver. S: Digimon Tamer which would, one day, be lost in the shadow of what many consider to be the quintessential Digimon video game. Digimon World sucked Tamers into the world of the Virtual Pets they loved so much, introducing us all to a brand-new world. Japan, 2012: A Missed Opportunity – Another addition to the Digimon World line; Digimon World Re:Digitize was released across Japan, but never in any other regions. This game saw Tamers, once again, return to the Digital World in much the same way as its descendant. While many other Digimon games had come …

V-Jump magazine Reveals New 3DS Title Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission X

Dragon Ball Heroes is, arguably, one of the most popular arcade video games to be currently in circulation across the great country of Japan. It is, certainly, highly revered by fans of Akira Toriyama’s long-running Shonen series, and by those who follow it’s video game lineage. In an attempt to capitalise on it’s success even further, and to extend outside of arcades, Dimps (the developers) and Bandai Namco Entertainment conceived and released two titles for the Nintendo 3DS that took the Collectable Card-based system of the arcade game and reworked it to be all-inclusive. Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 1 and 2 were just as well received as their arcade counterpart, perhaps due to the fact that you no longer had to collect physical cards to play, thus eliminating the need to spend further money. Some purists will say that the game then loses it’s heart, but others are just happy to have everything in one place. The latest issue of Shueisha’s V-Jump magazine is set to be released across the weekend, but some sneaky …

Digimon World: Next Order “Un-Hatch Your Destiny” Trailer Released + Boltbautamon Introduction

Digimon World: Next Order is only about a week away from an official release outside of Japan, and yet thanks to the Western world getting a higher quality PlayStation 4 version of the game Japan has decided to follow suit with their own “International Edition” with that release to coincide with our own. Now despite it not being too far away, Bandai Namco Entertainment are continuing to roll out trailers for the upcoming game, which doesn’t surprise anyone, as well as introducing us to brand-new Digital Monsters that we assume have been designed specifically for Next Order. The new trailer, titled “Un-Hatch your Destiny”, is another overview video of Digimon World: Next Order that focuses on the death, rebirth, and Fusions features of the new game, showing partner Digimon perishing in battle only to be reborn though this time as the result of a Fusion between their dwindling data. The trailer IS in English, and can be seen just below this paragraph wherein which I have provided it: Bandai Namco Entertainment Japan today also revealed …

A Second Trailer Has Been Released For Upcoming Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters Game

While many Digimon fans from across the globe are busy attacking and defending the new multimedia project Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters, many of us are just glad that such an addition to the long-running series exists. Scroll through any comment section of any given article regarding the new Video Game or Anime and you will understand just how divisive Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters is. There’s a clear three-way split in the fandom; a third of which will attack it for either been too different or not different enough, another that will defend it tooth and nail regardless of the facts, and a final that is simply happy that the franchise has yet to perish in the shadow of more popular franchises like Pokemon and Yo-Kai Watch. This particular piece of news goes out to the latter of the fanbase specifically: Bandai Namco Entertainment have released a brand-new full-length trailer for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS game, aptly titled Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters, that showcases many of it’s features, most of which have never been seen in previous …

Virtual Worlds Collide – Accel World VS Sword Art Online: Millennium Twilight Revealed

Avid readers of this site will know that I’m a sucker for crossover video game titles. Heck, crossover Anime, crossover Manga, crossover anything! So long as it has characters from different series’, different worlds, different realms, and different stories, I’m sold. Simple. Now, those same readers will also know that I’m not a fan of Sword Art Online, BUT that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate a good combination like this: Bandai Namco Entertainment today released a teaser trailer for their upcoming game Accel World VS Sword Art Online: Millennium Twilight, a game that will bring together the virtual realms of Reki Kawahara’s two most popular Light Novel series’. In the past, these two stories have crossed over, several times actually, but never on a scale like this. The game is set for a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita release sometime next year, that date has yet to have been released, and it’s genre is still yet to be outlined. Despite the fact that the two series’ are quite similar, they’re based on different video game …

Dragon Ball Fusions Confirmed For Western Release In February 2017

Reader, you’re very much aware of this particular video game, right? Us at SnapThirty have been following it ever since it was announced for Japan, and we’ve been hoping for a Western release ever since. Dragon Ball is one of the most popular Anime of all time in Western regions so most games based on the much-loved series does indeed make it to local shores, but when we’re talking about a strange game like Dragon Ball Fusions it’s always hard to determine whether or not the same can be said for it. If you’re not aware of this game; basically it’s an RPG set in the world of Dragon Ball, with a strong emphasis on “Fusion“, meaning that most characters you will be able to encounter and recruit throughout the story can be fused together. Exciting, right? Heck yeah, it is! Bandai Namco Entertainment, being such a great company, have done us Western Dragon Ball fans a huge favour by today announcing that they will be localising Dragon Ball Fusions and releasing it in Europe, …

One Piece: Grand Pirate Colosseum and DBZ: Extreme Butoden Go Head-To-Head In Crossover Update

Because it was actually released outside of Japan, many people living in the West would have, at least, seen the Nintendo 3DS exclusive Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden. It’s a fighting game developed by Arc System Works that is very much reminiscent of older Dragon Ball Z handheld titles. Well something you may not be entirely aware of is the existence of another Arc System Works fighting game based on another Shonen Jump staple of equal popularity; One Piece. This game, which is so far unreleased even in Japan, is titled One Piece: Grand Pirate Colosseum and features a similar gameplay design to that of Extreme Butoden. This game is also an exclusive for the Nintendo 3DS. Bandai Namco Entertainment Japan have recently revealed that, sometime in November, Arc System Works is set to release a free update for both games that will allow them to interact in huge ways. How huge? Well, huge enough that you will be able to cross-title battle, meaning Goku can go up against Luffy, Vegeta against Zolo, Piccolo against …

Naruto SUN Storm 4 Expansion “Road To Boruto” Set To Hit The West February 2017

I’ve said this countless times but some things truly never die, and one of them just so happens to be Masashi Kishimoto’s Shonen great Naruto. Despite the fact that the Manga ended quite some time ago, and the Anime is on it’s way out, people can’t seem to get enough of Naruto, and I totally understand why; it’s a pretty damn good series, despite it’s tendency to become too much of itself, but only in later story arcs…somebody stop me before I inject more personal bias into this article. The latest Naruto video game to be released was Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, also known as Naruto SUN Storm 4. This game, like it’s predecessors, came packed to the rafters with newly-added characters, story arcs, gameplay developments, and superior graphics, but the one thing it was missing was something many fans of the series truly hoped would be featured; Boruto. Now, before you begin attacking me; Boruto and Sarada were indeed released as playable DLC characters later on in the game’s early life, but that …

Hands-On With Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization At Madfest 2016

As an experienced yet begrudging “follower” of the long-running multimedia franchise Sword Art Online, I have never experienced anything from it more than that of it’s video game adaptations. While the series, in my humble opinion, leaves much to be desired in terms of character and story development, the game’s allow one to create their own adventure accompanied by familiar faces from the series. Knowing how popular the series and it’s offshoots still are in recent times, Bandai Namco Entertainment, as a part of their gameplay area at this year’s Madfest, featured a short demo of the upcoming Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization PlayStation 4 title. A fitting addition to the showroom floor, this game was never without a player regardless of the time of day, and that also includes myself…of course. At it’s very core; Hollow Realization isn’t too different from previous Sword Art Online video game titles which, despite what you may think, is actually more a positive than a negative. Unfortunately no story segments were present in the demo featured at the …

First Promotional Video Released For Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters 3DS Game

Being one hell of a big Digimon fan, it’s days like this one that remind me it’s good to be alive. Waking up this morning to discover that Bandai Namco Entertainment have released the very first proper promotional video for their upcoming Nintendo 3DS game Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters signifies, to me, the beginning of what is looking to be a fantastic day. Up until this point in time, most of what Bandai have shown audiences around the world are teaser trailers, promotional images, and vague videos simply explaining that Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters is going to be a multi-platform project like no other. This has all changed with the release of a the game’s first sizeable promotional video. As you may already be aware; the upcoming game is a light RPG that revolves around building a deck of Applimon that can be applied in battle in several different ways. Choosing a main Applimon, players are tasked with building a deck around it so as to make it more powerful in-battle. As in Digimon fashion, …

One Piece: Burning Blood – PlayStation 4 Review

It’s amusing to imagine that, in modern times, One Piece has become synonymous with the video game developer Omega Force thanks to their small but impactful series of Warriors-style games of which introduced the West to One Piece video game adaptations. Three strikingly similar games later, and a few offshoots similar enough to the original, it is now an odd sight to behold when a video game based on the Shonen Jump legend One Piece is more than just a one-vs-thousands Dynasty Warriors clone. The release of One Piece: Romance Dawn in 2013 was like a breath of fresh for Western fans of the series simply due to the fact that it was NOT part of the One Piece: Pirate Warriors series. Despite the fact that it was reviewed heavily as a sub-par Role-Playing Game, it still differentiated itself from the norm, and thus made somewhat of an impact. It’s now 2016, and the long-awaited One Piece: Burning Blood has been released worldwide, exciting and delighting One Piece fans thanks to it’s lack of similarities to …

Multimedia Project Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters Revealed

It’s amazing to imagine that, in the palm of our hands, we each have the collected consciousness of the known world. Past and present both reside within these small mobile devices that each of us considers an absolute necessity to have in this day and age. Does it not fill you with awe as you look towards your iPhone or your Samsung or your Android and see it as a tool to aid in the constant expansion of your mind? Not only are there apps that allow you to access the World Wide Web, which in and of itself contains literally all known information, but there are ones that allow you to learn different languages, keep a record of your schedule, help you navigate to places unknown, predict the upcoming weather patterns; if there’s something you can conceive…there’s already an app for it, and it is a fact that is somehow both exciting and frightening! Bandai, Bandai Namco Entertainment, and Toei Animation have just revealed something wonderful; the next big step in the Digimon: Digital …

Bandai Namco Entertainment Reveals Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

You remember the last Dragon Ball Xenoverse video game, right? It was the one wherein which you were tasked with going back through the Dragon Ball timeline in order to alter events that had been altered by an evil force in an attempt to change history so that the good guys lost and the bad guys won. You were some sort of time cop that had to alter and altered past so that it was no longer altered. Yeah, you know which one I’m talking about. Well, as it turns out, you didn’t alter enough! Well done, rookie, you screwed up! I want your gun, your badge, and your time travelling device on my desk. NOW! We can’t have big mistakes like this flying around our time precinct, the mayor of time is already up my arse because of the whole Back To The Future debacle, and now I’ve got to deal with this?! Bandai Namco Entertainment recently featured a timer on a new website created specifically to house said timer which was counting down to …

Hands-On With Grand Kingdom – PlayStation 4 Closed Beta

Something I have always admired about the Japanese Video Game industry is it’s potential for change. Unlike that of the Western market, Japanese developers will take extreme risks with their video games in an attempt to revolutionise not only specific ways a genre can be handled, but the industry as a whole. These risks are ones that Western developers simply cannot take without first deeply contemplating the almost infinite number of outcomes, most of which negative. This is one of the few reasons behind the world’s odd view of Japan. The country, and it’s media, seems overtly strange, and I believe it is because of this creative freedom. There are no limitations on what they can develop, which mostly results in odd dating simulators that involve creatures NOT human, but from time to time a video game comes along that works as a catalyst for great change. Grand Kingdom is a Japanese alternative Role-Playing Game developed by the wondrous Spike Chunsoft that takes the highly popular genre and reconstructs it in ways I don’t believe I’ve …

A Nostalgia-Driven Trip To The 90s: Hands-On With Bandai’s Tamagotchi Friends

It’s 1996 and a team of visionaries working for Bandai have come up with an interesting idea: To make a device that allows children the opportunity to raise their own pets, without the real-life responsibility that comes with actual pet ownership. This idea gave birth to the very first of it’s kind; the Tamagotchi, who’s name comes from the amalgamation of the Japanese word for egg, tamago, with the English word watch. The Tamagotchi, thanks to it’s incredible rise in popularity, then gave birth to the well-known Digimon, which, in and of itself, spawned a countless number of handheld video games that took the world by storm. For the West, this virtual pet craze was short-lived, piquing in popularity during the late 90s, leading up to the early 2000s. Over in Japan, as is usually the case, the love for Tamagotchi never saw as steep a decline, with a new model being released periodically since the original made it’s mark on the world. The funny thing about us as human beings is that, while we …

First Combo Characters Revealed For Upcoming 3DS Game Dragon Ball: Fusions

The last time I wrote a news piece regarding this particular video game, it’s official name hadn’t even been revealed. All we knew about it is that it happened to be a Dragon Ball video game for the Nintendo 3DS that revolved around the varying fusions of many characters. With the announcement of the game came an interested piece of promotional art that showed series protagonist Goku partaking in the Fusion Dance with sworn enemy Broly, who happens to be one of my favorite characters. Bandai Namco Entertainment have revealed more about the game in the latest issue of V-Jump magazine that not only shows the product of Goku and Broly’s fusion, but also a few others, each of which happen to be a combination featuring Krillin…of all characters. Starting off; it has been revealed that you will be able to create and customise your very own character, choosing from five different races much in the same vein as the previously released Dragon Ball: Xenoverse. The races are as follows; Namekian, Spirit Worldian (Majins and …

Taking It To The Streets – Latest One Piece: Burning Blood Trailer Takes Place In Shibuya

Us Shonen fans are a whimsical bunch, that much is for sure. We read and watch Hunter X Hunter, Shaman King, My Hero Academia, and all the other greats while thinking to ourselves; “Man…what I would give for all of this to be real“. It’s nice, feeling as though you can escape from the humdrum of everyday life by burying yourself in your favorite series, but you know what isn’t nice? The realistic implications that come with Shonen heroes and villains existing in our realm. Do you understand the level of destruction such characters would cause? Bandai Namco Entertainment do, and they’ve given us a glimpse into that reality with the latest trailer for their upcoming fighting game title One Piece: Burning Blood! By now, you should know exactly what One Piece: Burning Blood is, but for those of you who don’t; One Piece: Burning Blood is an upcoming fighting game that pits One Piece characters against each other in one-on-one bouts of strength. Unlike most, if not all, of the previous One Piece video …

Meet The Seven New Digimon Headed To Bandai Namco’s Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth

Bandai Namco Entertainment recently did the West a huge solid by releasing the incredibly popular PlayStation Vita title Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, this time on both it’s original console and on the PlayStation 4. Released in Japan quite some time ago, this game is not only a fantastic Digimon video game title, but simply a great Japanese role-playing game in general which brings a tear to my eye because I’ve been waiting for this title ever since it was first announced for Japan. Almost sixty hours in, I’m still finding more and more to do within the detailed realm of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth. Not only is there plenty to do within the game’s main story, but it also has an incredibly high number of side quests, making this one of the longer games I’ve played in recent times, but Bandai Namco Entertainment have been doing something to elongate our experience with this long-awaited game; they’ve been releasing free downloadable content that add more intriguing side missions to the game, and I’m not just talking …

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – PlayStation 4 Review

Chances are, if you’re reading this, you’re totally into Digimon, which is, like, the cutest because, FYI…Digimon is, like, totally into you too. It’s been many years since a proper Digimon video game was released in the West so, as you can imagine, us wannabe-DigiDestined are pretty excited to have this title in the palm of our hands. Finally. Now the reason I say “proper” Digimon video game is because the last Digimon title us Westerners got wasAll-Star Rumble and – I’m sorry about this, Bandai Namco Entertainment – but that game was a breathtaking flop. Thankfully, that has been entirely made up for with the release of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth; a Digimon game about crime, mystery, theDigital World, and a sexy lady in what looks to be just a button up business shirt. How could you possibly turn your attention away from that? The answer to that question: You can’t! Once again, I would like to thank Bandai Namco Entertainment not only for providing us with a copy of the new game for review, …

Here Comes The Bride – Nina Williams Returns For Tekken 7: Fated Retribution

With fighting game continuations such as Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, fans of the long-running series always worry about the updated roster. Often, a developer will keep all the characters that the fans have come to know and love while throwing in others for the sake of variance. Occasionally, a developer will forget about fan favorite characters for reasons unbeknownst to us, but in the case of Tekken 7: Fated Retribution it seems as though Bandai Namco Entertainment truly know what it is that it’s audience wants the most. Announced a while back, Tekken 7: Fated Retribution is, incase you can’t already tell, the next addition to the long line of Tekken video games to hit both arcades and home consoles. Like every other new iteration of the game; Tekken 7 boasts well-tuned gameplay mechanics, incredibly high-calibre visuals, and the return of many series staple characters…like Nina Williams who has today been revealed as a returning fighter to the King Of Iron Fist Tournament that stands, somewhat, as the core of the Tekken series of fighting games. …

How Bleach: Brave Souls Restored My Faith In Mobile Gaming And Rekindled My Love For The Series

It’s strange, if you’ve been following SnapThirty and the crew for a while now you’d know that there are a few things we can’t seem to help but hate on, despite the fact that we try as hard as possible to keep a positive attitude about almost all facets of Japanese pop culture. One of those things happens to be the Shonen Jump Manga series Bleach written and illustrated by Tite Kubo; a series that, although we very much enjoyed at the beginning of it’s longer-than-necessary run, we have all come to somewhat despise due to what we consider to be a superfluous continuation of a series that should have ended years ago. Not only that, but the quality simply isn’t the same. Something else none of us seem to be fans of is that of mobile gaming; a platform that boasts cheap fun but is actually littered with forced advertising and micro-transaction that, without the purchase of some in-game currency, would make the title simply unplayable. It’s strange to that think Bandai Namco Entertainment’s …

Bandai Namco Announce Dragon Ball: Project Fusion Nintendo 3DS Game

What is your favorite thing about Dragon Ball, reader? Personally, I enjoy seeing two characters fuse together, simply because I’ve always been a fan of the staple fusion characters Vegeto and Gogeta. I mean, what’s better than a character with the overwhelming power of Goku combined with the devastating arrogance of Vegeta? Simply…nothing. That’s why the prospect of a Dragon Ball video game that relies heavily on the fusion aspect of the series excited me to such a large degree! Bandai Namco Entertainment have announced this week, through Japan’s V-Jump magazine, a brand-new Nintendo 3DS title called Dragon Ball: Project Fusion that, as I mentioned previously, is an RPG that gives the spotlight to the fusion ability introduced late in the series’ run. So far, not a lot has been revealed regarding how this game will play. All the V-Jump announcement detailed was that it is an RPG and that it will revolve around fusion, backing it’s statement up with an image of life-long enemies Goku and Broly partaking in the Fusion Dance; something many …

Four New Character Trailers Released For JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven

Bandai Namco Entertainment are super excited for their upcoming JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure title Eyes Of Heaven, and to celebrate it’s almost-release they plan on posting character-specific videos that span the game’s entire roster which, last time I checked, is at least fifty strong. So far the list of names is fairly thick, but it’s only going to get thicker! Before jumping in and catching a glimpse of the latest spotlight characters, why not check out those who came before it by Clicking Here. It’s fine, it’s fine, four is fine, at least it’s not eight! Bandai Namco Entertainment have, as you can already tell, dropped another batch of character-specific trailers for their upcoming title JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven, and this time around they’ve decided to introduce us to the most flamboyant of the character cast…wait, no they didn’t…they’ve all been incredibly flamboyant, it’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure after all! Narciso Anasui (Part VI: Stone Ocean), Vanilla Ice (Part III: Stardust Crusaders), Giorno Giovanna (Part V: Vento Aureo), and Enrico Pucci (Part VI: Stone Ocean) are the …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – N’Doul, Koichi Hirose, and Akira Otoishi Character Battle Trailers Released

Street Fighter’s Akuma To Be A Playable Character In Tekken 7: Fated Retribution

Characters crossing over between Tekken and Street Fighter is something that has actually happened a fair few times in the past. Hell, there was even a game that brought both fighting titles together, so it’s not crazy to think that a Street Fighter character would be featured in the recently announced arcade followup title Tekken 7: Fated Retribution. The very first trailer for the new edition of Tekken 7 has just been posted online courtesy of Bandai Namco Entertainment and it just so happens to feature Street Fighter’s Akuma who must, apparently, defeat Heihachi Mishima before he destroys the world…seeing as nobody else can. It’s far to say that, out of any character, Akuma being the one to take down Heihachi is quite fitting, I mean…he’s the embodiment of all evil, and also the “Supreme Master Of The Fist”. As of right now, nothing has been said regarding the specific date of this arcade title’s release, nor whether or not it will be hitting home consoles anytime soon, but it is unlike Bandai Namco Entertainment …

Bandai Namco Entertainment have, once again, upped their game! In the beginning, they were releasing one character trailer for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven every couple of days, then they started releasing them in pairs a lot more frequently, now we’ve been given a triplet of gameplay trailers, much like the others, each focussing on a …

It seems as though Bandai Namco Entertainment have decided that one character trailer each day simply isn’t enough, and considering the fact that the game isn’t too long from getting at release, it’s obvious that there won’t be enough time to cover each of the fifty plus characters that are set to feature in this game. Today set of trailers focus on another two odd but powerful Stand users: Mariah from Part …

Yosh! Not only are there two videos to sink our teeth into, they both happen to focus on a couple of awesome characters; one being author insert Rohan Kishibe, and the other being an older, wiser, yet younger-looking Jotaro Kujo …

Speedwagon, Jotaro Kujo,Okuyasu Nijimura, Bruno Buccellati, Joseph Joestar, Dio Brando, Gyro Zeppeli, Josuke Higashikata, Enrico Pucci, Rudol Von Stroheim, and Trish Una. I’m the type of person who always thinks about why an antagonist is just so…evil. What made them this way? When I think about the Pillar Men from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part II: Battle Tendency, I don’t necessarily ask myself why they’re so darn evil. I feel like if I were stuck in stone pillars for thousands of years, I’d be pretty damn pissed too! Out of the four main antagonists of Battle Tendency, Esidisi was by …

This young “Mafiosa“, a girl named Trish Una, is part of Bruno Buccelati’s gang, and the daughter of the original boss of the mafia family; the Passione. Her stand, Spice Girl, can manipulate matter in a very …

Speedwagon, Jotaro Kujo,Okuyasu Nijimura, Bruno Buccellati, Joseph Joestar, Dio Brando, Gyro Zeppeli, Josuke Higashikata, and Enrico Pucci. There’s nothing more advanced than Nazi technology…apparently. When the world is threatened by three naked Egyptian men born from stone pillars for a purpose which is still unbeknownst to me, who can you call to defend it? Obviously…the Nazis, and there’s one regime-lover who stands above all others thanks to the millions of dollars pumped into developing technology that could be used to replace his lost organs with countless deadly weapons. His name is Rudol Von Stroheim, and according …

Bandai Namco Europe Launches Online Store, Brings Back the Pac (Among Other Favourites)

Lovers of games and merchandise rejoice, especially if that love is specifically for content that falls under the banner of Bandai Namco, such as Tales of, Tekken or the tried and true classic Galaga. In the ever spreading trend of digitising the world, shoppers will be able to enjoy an online marketplace through which to purchase posters, canvases, coffee mugs, hoodies, t-shirts and phone cases. You know, the essentials. More specifically, the 35th Anniversary of Pac-Man is being celebrated by a series of unique designs created by 35 artists. Now why they chose that number is beyond em, but I’m sure there’s something to it. In regards to the new online storefront, Hervé Hoerdt (VP of Marketing and Digital at Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe) said: “We are all super excited about this long awaited store dedicated to our biggest fans! Our goal is to provide high quality, exclusive and unique items that have been carefully selected to communicate and represent our passion and love around iconic IPs. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Enrico Pucci Character Battle Trailer Released

Speedwagon, Jotaro Kujo,Okuyasu Nijimura, Bruno Buccellati, Joseph Joestar, Dio Brando, Gyro Zeppeli, and Josuke Higashikata. Today’s video highlights a character that, long after DIO’s death, still wishes to see his divine plan through to the very end. First appearing in Part VI: Stone Ocean, Enrico Pucci is a priest at the Green Dolphin Street Prison of which main character Jolyne Cujoh is a prisoner. Being a devout follower of DIO, Enrico Pucci has a mental state that is, let’s say, less-than-stable. This man will do anything to live life according to the word of DIO, …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Josuke Higashikata Character Battle Trailer Released

Speedwagon, Jotaro Kujo,Okuyasu Nijimura, Bruno Buccellati, Joseph Joestar, Dio Brando, and Gyro Zeppeli. Today’s featured character is another member of the Joestar family that has a Stand who’s abilities I’m honestly not sure I entirely understand. Josuke Higashikata is the main protagonist of Part IV: Diamond Is Unbreakable, which is a story that follows the lives of three young boys as they hunt down a cereal killer who’s taking countless innocent lives in their small town. His stand, called Crazy Diamond, is much like Star Platinum in the way that it is both fast and …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Gyro Zeppeli Character Battle Trailer Released

In the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure universe there’s this ancient technique called the Ripple that allows any master of the practice to harness the power of the sun to defeat their foes with an array of interesting and incredible weird techniques. Jonathan and Joseph Joestar both know their way around the supernatural art, as well as others like Will and Caesar Zeppeli who, unfortunately, both died for the sake of their individual Joestar family members. After a handful of story arcs, each differing greatly from the last, the world of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is re-written. No longer is there such thing as the Ripple, but there is something that supersedes it…a little technique called Spin. You know what’s going on, right? Come on, surely you do! The latest spotlight trailer focuses on the …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Dio Brando Character Battle Trailer Released

I’ve done about seven of these articles at the time of writing this one. I try my hardest to put a little bit of character specific flair into each and every one by referencing their personality types, battle tactics, etc., but with Dio Brando…all I can do is make the same jokes everyone else has already made. You know the whole “it was I, Dio” thing, yeah, it’s kind of gotten old, and yet here I am fighting with myself because, well…damn, I want to make some of those jokes too, so here I go: [Insert Dio Meme Here] Bandai Namco Entertainment are doing this interesting thing wherein which they’re periodically releasing character-specific trailers in the lead-up to their upcoming action title JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven. So far we’ve seen about seven of them, of which I’ll make sure to specify in the latter sections of this article, and we’re only going to be seeing more and more, considering there are over fifty playable characters, and I’m fairly certain they want to get …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Joseph Joestar Character Battle Trailer Released

Tank top, check. Headband, check. Loose, flowing scarf…double check. Well damn, now you’re looking like Joseph Joestar! Bandai Namco Entertainment, to celebrate the upcoming release of their newest JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fighting title Eyes Of Heaven, are periodically releasing different, character-specific gameplay trailers to show audiences just who they’ll be able to play as once the new game comes out and, of course, simply to build hype. The list so far is; Jonathan Joestar, Robert E.O. Speedwagon, Jotaro Kujo, Okuyasu Nijimura, and Bruno Buccellati, with the newest addition to the short but growing list being none other than Battle Tendency’s protagonist; Joseph Joestar. Oh my God! The masterful Ripple user has returned for Eyes Of Heaven stronger and more flamboyant than he’s ever been before! Whether he’s using his faithful tommy gun, his Cracker Volley technique, or the Ripple as a whole, chances are…it’s going to mean a bed time for anyone going head-to-head with this slab of man meat. Strong enough to survive the Pillar Men onslaught as a youngster, Joseph Joestar has had …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Bruno Buccellati Character Battle Trailer Released

By now I’m sure you know the story, but I’ll reiterate quickly for the sake of consistence: Bandai Namco Entertainment, in the lead up to the release of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven, are systematically releasing character-specific battle trailers that showcase the abilities of each and every individual addition to the new game’s roster. So far, we’ve seen trailers for Jonathan Joestar, Robert E.O.Speedwagon, Jotaron Kujo, and Okuyasu Nijimura, but today’s video focuses on none other than the zipper man himself; Bruno Buccellati. This young gangster made his first appearance in the one-shot Manga “Jolyne, Fly High With Gucchi” but became a fully fleshed-out character in the pages of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure – Part 4: Vento Aureo alongside main character Giorno Giovanna. His stand, Sticky Fingers, has the strange but applicable ability to zip open portals into any physical matter by manifesting a zipper over the area he wishes. His ability can be used to hide, making it easy for him to get the drop on his enemy, but it isn’t just this strange …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Okuyasu Nijimura Character Battle Trailer Released

I would say “make space for a new character” but it seems as though this particular juvenile delinquent can do that himself. As you know; Bandai Namco Entertainment are building hype for the upcoming release of their latest JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fighting title Eyes Of Heaven. In the lead-up to the game’s release, the publisher is releasing character-specific trailers that will show most, if not all, of those who will feature on the roster for the new game, making sure to give the proper spotlight to those who maybe don’t often get it. So far, Bandai Namco Entertainment have given us trailers for Jonathan Joestar, Robert E.O. Speedwagon, and Jotaro Kujo. Today’s trailer focuses on one of the main characters from Part 4 of the series Diamond Is Unbreakable; Okuyasu Nijimura. This young man is an asset to anyone fighting by his side. His Stand, The Hand, has the ability to remove space from the universe, meaning that even long-rang fighters can’t get a chance at praying on what they though was this fighter’s weakness. …

My Hero Academia Is Getting It’s Very Own Video Game!?

Look, it’s no secret that My Hero Academia (Boku No Hero Academia) is quickly becoming one of the most popular Shonen Jump Mangas of recent times. It features an incredibly detailed story with amazing characters and a protagonist that really puts all other who’ve come before him to shame. The Manga has just earned itself an Anime adaptation to be spearheaded by Studio Bones and now, as it has just been announced in this Week’s Shonen Jump over in Japan, the hit Manga will be getting it’s very own videog game for the Nintendo 3DS.  It’s called My Hero Academia: Battle For All and it’s currently in early development stages. It was only a matter of time before this superhero series got itself a video game and that time will surely be in 2016, though nothing was confirmed by Bandai Namco Entertainment who are publishing the game in Japan. Battle For All is said to be a battle title that will feature most, if not all, of the main characters from the Manga series, giving …

One Piece: Burning Blood To Feature General Franky And X Drake

Yeah, I bet you didn’t expect these two One Piece characters to be featured on the roster of the upcoming fighting title One Piece: Burning Blood. So far, the most we’ve heard about this game is that it will feature realistic battles between Devil Fruit and Haki users, with those of the Logia type being able to make themselves invulnerable and those knowing how to use Haki being able to activate and shut said Logia users down, but never once was it mentioned that there would be gargantuan characters like X Drake and General Franky thrown into the mix. The latest issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump has just been released over in Japan, and between the pages of this much-loved weekly magazine lies this incredible news regarding the upcoming multi-platform fighter and it’s extended roster. The screenshots featured in the full-page spot shows X Drake in his Tyrannosaurus Rex form going head-to-head with the General Franky confirming that this game will at least have one large-scale battle between two damn big characters. X Drake has …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Jotaro Kujo Character Battle Trailer Released

Bandai Namco Entertainment, to celebrate the upcoming release of their brawler title JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven, have been systematically releasing gameplay trailers focusing on specific characters from the series’ long-lineage. The first two that were released highlight the battle prowess of both Jonathan Joestar and Robert E.O. Speedwagon, and the latest character battle trailer to be released focuses entirely on the most popular JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure protagonist, the ever-broody Jotaro Kujo. Now I honestly don’t think I have to explain much regarding the main character of Stardust Crusaders because, well…everyone knows who Jotaro Kujo is. He truly is one of the most well-known Shonen Jump characters of all time and his presence is so impactful, it’s hard not to have his name burned into the side of your brain. With his Stand Star Platinum at his side, this juvenile delinquent can pretty much trump any adversary that stands in his way, even the all powerful DIO, whom he decimated with a single punch…practically. Returning from Eyes Of Heaven’s predecessor All-Star Battle, Jotaru Kujo …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Robert E.O. Speedwagon Character Battle Trailer Released

Let’s be entirely honest, readers; Robert E.O. Speedwagon is everyone’s favorite JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure character. I mean, Jotaro Kujo is pretty damn cool with his rough hat and his long coat, but do you know what’s cooler? Pretty much everything owned by Robert E.O. Speedwagon and, yes, I WILL be referring to Robert E.O. Speedwagon by his full name throughout this entire article. It’s what Robert E.O. Speedwagon deserves. Nothing less. So, considering you’ve already read the title of this here article, I’m sure you are already aware that Robert E.O. Speedwagon will be a playable character in the upcoming Bandai Namco Entertainment brawler title JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eye’s Of Heaven. A few days ago, Bandai Namco released a video highlighting the battle tactics of the long-running series’ original protagonist Jonathan Joestar, but it’s not time to make way for his first ever friend and greatest ally; Robert E.O. Speedwagon. If you’re the type of person who’s wondering how Robert E.O. Speedwagon would fight if he ever had the absolute need to, this is the …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Jonathan Joestar Character Battle Trailer Released

You know that there’s another JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure game coming out right? Yeah, I thought so. Anyone who’s anyone know’s that! It’s called JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven and it’s a follow up to the previously released PlayStation 3 fighting game All-Star Battle. Well it looks as though Bandai Namco Entertainment think that we’ve all forgotten about the characters that appeared in All-Star Battle and are taking this chance to re-introduce us with a series of introduction videos that should highlight some of the new additions to the game’s roster while also taking a look back at some of the old favorites. The very first in this, possible, series of fifty videos (seeing as there are fifty playable characters in the upcoming game) focuses entirely on the very first notable Joestar; Jonathan. Having had to train to defeat his step-brother Dio Brando who, in true Dio fashion, turned himself into a powerful Vampire, Jonathan trained in the art of the Ripple; an ability that uses the power of Solar Energy to vanquish foes, especially …

Where There’s Fire, There’s Smoker – New Playable Character Announced For One Piece: Burning Blood

Do me a favour, I need help proving something; go ahead and ask any One Piece fan who their favorite character is. Chances are, they’re all going to be drastically different, of course, but I have a sneaking suspicious they’ll all mention Smoker at least once during the conversation because, well…he’s Smoker. There’s a new One Piece game on the horizon, and this time it’s not being developed by Omega Force which means it’s not going to be another Pirate Warriors title! Wahoo! One Piece: Burning Blood was announced by Bandai Namco Entertainment recently and already it has been confirmed to be making it’s way to the West next year. Despite that, there’s not a great deal we know about this upcoming fighting game; we know that it won’t be like previously released One Piece titles, and we know that the gameplay mechanics will have a great deal to do with Haki and Logia users. If you don’t know what those two things are, I think you may be in the wrong place. V-Jump, a Japanese …

This Heavenly Form Of DIO Is Set To Feature In JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven

The concept of a God is already quite frightening. While it gives many religious-types around the world a large sense of solace, simply pondering the metaphysical presence of an unearthly deity is mind-boggling. Now think about a God that would let an A-Grade piece of Vampiric garbage like Dio Brando into Heaven…is that a God you want to follow? Hell no! Why? Because if it has let Dio through those pearly gates and into Nirvana, I can imagine who else is waiting up there for our arrival. The upcoming Bandai Namco Entertainment title JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven is a follow up fighting game to the previously released All-Star Battle, both of which allow players to slot themselves into the shoes of their favorite JJBA characters and duke it out Stand-style in ways only the character cast of this oddball series knows. The Japanese pop culture magazine Ultra Jump has this week revealed a brand-new character that will be playable in the upcoming game, and while he is technically brand-new…he’s a guy we’ve seen …

Prematurely Rock The Dragon – Pre-Launch Trailer For Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden Released

Bandai Namco Entertainment hopes you’re all ready to play a damn good Dragon Ball Z fighting game the likes of which we havn’t seen on a handheld title for quite some time. As you probably already know; Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden is about to be released around the world for the Nintendo 3DS. For us living in what is considered to be European regions, we’ll be getting the game on the 16th, but if you’re living in North America and surrounding area…you’ll have to wait until the 20th. Sorry, everyone. That’s okay though! Because Bandai Namco Entertainment have given the whole world the ability to prematurely rock the dragon with their latest trailer for the upcoming game being released only briefly before that of the video game. The new trailer pretty much goes over all the features of the game that we’ve come to know and love by this point in time but that doesn’t make it any less exciting, in fact, it works brilliantly to remind us all of why we should be overly …

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Set To Be Released In North America This February

Here we go, we’ve finally got a date courtesy of Bandai Namco Entertainment who’ve today announced that the upcoming PlayStation Vita/PlayStation 4 exclusive Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is set to hit local shelves across North America on the 2nd of February next year. Up until this point in time, all we knew about the release of this game is that it was going to be made available sometime in 2016, which seems so far away despite the fact that 2015 is quickly coming to an end. Bandai Namco Entertainment announced alongside the release date that Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth’s PlayStation 4 version will be made available both digitally and physically, with the physical version coming with some exciting pre-order bonuses that include a couple of costumes for the main character’s Agumon, a set of items thrown together to help the player out during the beginning of the game, with additional Digimon partners like BlackAgumon, BlackGabumon, Beelzemon, and Cherubimon. Unfortunately the PlayStation Vita version of the game will only be getting a digital release therefor you cannot …

Bandai Namco Entertainment Announces Digimon Linkz SmartPhone Game

It seems as though Digimon is making a comeback. According to Japan, it never really left, but anyone who knows anything about the long-running monster-raising franchise will know that it has obviously seen better days. Most notably; back in 90s when it was first conceived and released. As of late, though, the franchise has been resurrected thanks to a whole bunch of new video games developed specifically for those of us who grew up with Digimon, and those of us who still have a place for it in our hearts. Digimon World Re:Digitized, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, Digimon World -Next 0rder-; these are just a few of the worthwhile new Digimon games that Bandai Namco Entertainment have delivered to the Digital Monster-loving fans…and they’ve got one more to announce, but unfortunately it wont be as exciting as the titles I listed just above. The new game is called Digimon Linkz; a SmartPhone title that has players build their own village, raise their own Digimon, and battle others to see just who truly is the master …

Bandai Namco Announces One Piece: Thousand Storm SmartPhone Game

Bandai Namco Entertainment have only just announced their latest One Piece video game title Burning Blood, but it seems as though that is simply not enough because they’ve just gone ahead and announced ANOTHER One Piece title, this time called “Thousand Storm“. This new game, unlike Burning Blood, will not be released on the conventional consoles like most of the One Piece games that have come before it. Bandai Namco Entertainment seem to be, once again, heading into the realm of SmartPhone gaming for the new title labelled a “united Pirates RPG“…whatever that’s supposed to mean. Yes, Thousand Storm will not be released on any of the big consoles, instead it will call the palm of your hand it’s home as it is planned for an iOS and Android release in both Japan and throughout the West sometime in 2016. Thousand Storm will be an RPG heavily based on teamwork. It’s a video game that will urge you to partner up with two of your friends and take on the series’ antagonists as a team rather …

Feelin’ Hot Hot Hot – One Piece: Burning Blood Hits The West In 2016

This is news regarding an upcoming One Piece video game so, chances are, you’ve already heard everything you possibly could’ve about it. That’s just the way promotion works for new titles based on this highly-popular Shonen Jump series. Only recently, Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed the Spike Chunsoft-developed One Piece: Burning Blood, announcing that it will not only be getting a release across Japan but also throughout the West. What we, the pop culture-loving people, were not told was WHEN we would be seeing this title hit local shelves, and today…that’s exactly what Bandai Namco have announced. Lacking specifics, One Piece: Burning Blood is confirmed to be released in the West sometime in 2016 for not only the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, but also for the Xbox One, making it the first One Piece video game title to cross the console border, previously only being released on Sony systems. Burning Blood will be unlike all the other One Piece video game titles that have come before it, rather than playing as a single character against …

Project X Zone 2: Brave New World Hits Australia And New Zealand February 2016

Yeah, it’s fine knowing that a game like Project X Zone 2 exists, but what’s better is knowing exactly when you’ll be able to get your hands on it and experience it for yourself. For a while now, us living outside of Japan have had the privilege of being able to witness this upcoming crossover title from afar; watching Japanese trailers, seeing Japanese screenshots, etc. Bandai Namco Entertainment Australia have decided that Aussie (and Kiwi) fans of the new game and it’s wonderfully-developed predecessor deserve to know exactly when they’ll be able to see this game on local shelves. Unfortunately it’s still a while away…but at least we know when to expect it.  Mark it on your calendars, people! The 19th of February, 2016! That’s the official release date for Project X Zone 2: Brave New World across Australia and New Zealand on the Nintendo 3DS, and the day you’ll be ringing your boss pretending to be sick so that you can get the day all to yourself. Sure, you have plenty of time to play …

Seraph Of The End: The Origin Of Fate To Hit Japan This December

A Manga series, an Anime adaptation, and now a video game. Seraph Of The End truly has it all, thanks to it’s droves of fans making it one of the more popular Shonen Jump titles of the new generation. Despite my aversion to the Anime adaptation that aired only last season, I couldn’t help but imagine that it wouldn’t be too long until the world will be seeing a video game based on the events of the series, and here we are. Revealed a while ago but only now confirmed for an official release date, the upcoming PlayStation Vita title Seraph Of The End: The Origin Of Fate puts players in the shoes of the series’ main character cast as they battle through the story in what we’re being told will be a “dramatical tactical battle” title. Unfortunately not much regarding the game has actually been seen, bar a few screenshots that give nothing away, but from the description given by Bandai Namco Entertainment it’s supposed to be a well-made tactical role-playing game with a …

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Kyoko Kuremi Story Overview Trailer Released

The fact that Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth has already been released over in Japan hasn’t stopped Bandai Namco Entertainment from promoting it across the rest of the world. Tokyo Game Show 2015 has only just begun and already we’re catching wind of some amazing new video game announcements and updates. One of the more exciting ones is the new trailer for the upcoming PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4 title Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth which is, surprisingly, making it’s way to the West sometime in 2016. Narrated by Cyber Detective Kyoko Kuremi, the trailer’s dialogue is spoken entirely in English and goes on to detail the game’s story; something we’ve seen time and time again in Japanese trailers but never in English. While the trailer doesn’t exactly show anything new about the game, the fact that it was put together just for Western audiences really drives home the point that this game is indeed on it’s way to local shelves. Tokyo Game Show 2015 has only just begun so there’s still plenty of amazing video game …

Digimon World: Next Order – Tokyo Game Show 2015 Trailer

Tokyo Game Show 2015 has only just begun, but it has done so in quite an explosive way. Japanese pop culture fans know TGS as one of the better video game expos of our generation and there’s a huge reason why; some of the most exciting stuff comes out of it, including the latest trailer for Bandai Namco Entertainment’s upcoming PlayStation Vita title Digimon World: Next Order, stylised as “Next -0rder-“. Running just a little over two minutes long, the trailer showcases what it will be like playing as both the male and female protagonists, with the male having Agumon and Gabumon as his digital companions, and the female having Biyomon and Palmon. The trailer also gives audiences an extensive look at the world of Next Order with some nice throwbacks to the original Digimon World PlayStation 1 title. Set for a Japanese release on the PlayStation Vita sometime in 2016, nothing has been said by Bandai Namco Entertainment regarding a Western release; something that may actually never come. Either way, we have a fantastic …

Bandai Namco Entertainment Announces One Piece: Burning Blood

About a week or so ago, I wrote an article regarding Bandai Namco Entertainment and their licensing of a video game name that went by the name Burning Blood. In this article I compared the name to that of the Japanese delinquent fight game Crows: Burning Edge, stating that there was a possibility that the company plan on bringing said game to the West under a new title. As it turns out…I’m dead wrong. The name Burning Blood actually belongs to a brand-new One Piece fighting game set to be released for the PlayStation Vita and the PlayStation 4. How do I know this now? Well Bandai Namco Entertainment announced this alongside a trailer for the upcoming One Piece game at this year’s Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia Press conference. Not much is known about this One Piece game, as of right now, but by judging by the trailer it looks as though it will focus heavily on the adoptive brothers Luffy, Ace, and Sabo; each of which being heavily present showing off their fierce fighting …

Sega’s Promotional Character Segata Sanshiro Revealed For Project X Zone 2

Here’s a real Japanese pop culture knowledge test, one that I failed, and one that I think will put a smile on your face regardless of whether or not you’re aware of this particular character. In Japan, from 1997 to 1998, there was this television marketing gimmick organised by Sega to advertise their powerful new product of the time; the Sega Saturn. Like many advertising campaigns throughout history, this particular Sega Saturn line of comedic commercials featured a legendary, fictional, Judo master that went by the name Segata Sanshiro who, for that two year period, was essentially the face of the Sega Saturn. This hard-core fighter would travel the land, literally punishing those who would not play the Sega Saturn, as if it was by law. This video game vigilante was seen as one hell of force to be reckoned with, and seemingly the perfect promotional character for the Sega Saturn; a system that, apparently, demanded to be enjoyed. It’s now 2015, and there’s a video game sequel on the way called Project X Zone …

Crows: Burning Edge Possibly Confirmed For A European Release

Video game publishers will sometimes do this interesting, and exciting, thing wherein which they will license a certain name, or variation of a name, in North America and Europe months after certain titles have been announced over in Japan. There are people who troll the world wide web waiting for companies to do this, then spreading the word that it has been done, and the latest to be “caught out“, so to speak, are none other than Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe who have recently licensed the video game title Burning Blood. Now, as of right now, Burning Blood means absolutely nothing because, for all intents and purposes…it is nothing. There is no Japanese video game that goes by that name at this point in time and it’s not a name we’ve ever heard of before, but we have heard something similar! Crows: Burning Edge is an upcoming fighting game by Namco Bandai Entertainment based off of the highly popular delinquent Manga Crows which, as you may know, was also the inspiration for the movie trilogy Crows …

Female Protagonist Revealed For Digimon World -Next 0rder-

Yes, back when the Digimon line of virtual pets were first released they were marketed towards young boys, but it’s now 2015 and a lot has changed between then and now. Not too long ago, Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed their next Digimon video game title, Digimon World -Next 0rder-, for the PlayStation Vita and since it’s reveal we really havn’t gotten much in terms of extensive information. Yeah, Bandai Namco Entertainment released a teaser trailer and some fairly uninteresting screenshots, but that’s about it…until now. The latest issue of Shueisha’s V-Jump magazine features a nice spread revolving around the new game that has introduced audiences to it’s Female protagonist; a young girl named Shiki. Like a lot contemporary additions to game series’ of this type (Pokemon, Yo-Kai Watch, Etc.), Digimon World -Next 0rder- will too allow you to choose between a Male and Female protagonist, both of which are looking damn funky! Also revealed in the magazine is another character from the upcoming game who you’re NOT in control of. Kota Hirose is another young …

Hands-On With One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 At SMASH! 2015

Bandai Namco Entertainment has a fairly sizeable presence at most, if not all, good pop culture conventions, and that includes Sydney’s very own SMASH! (Sydney Manga and Anime Show). The convention plays host to an abundance of great upcoming additions to Japanese pop culture and there’s nothing more loved in Japanese pop culture than that of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece; a series that has been running since 1997 and still continues to run in the modern age of Anime and Manga. Bandai Namco Entertainment, this year, had somewhat of a smaller booth, but it was constantly filled to the brim with people wanting to get even the slightest glimpse of a couple of the publisher’s upcoming games, one of them being One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3, which I was lucky enough to get a chance to experience first-hand. What’s there to say about One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 that hasn’t already been said about the first two games? Honestly…nothing, but I think I’ve come to realise that it’s not really a bad thing. The way I …

It’s Time We Head Back – First Trailer Released For Digimon World: Next Order

My experience with the original Digimon World video game is that of an odd one: I never had a PlayStation therefor I never owned the game, but my next door neighbour had both and, as a fan of the series, you could imagine I spent most of my time there playing it…but I had no idea what I was doing. Battles were impossible for me, my Digimon would constantly die, the town wouldn’t expand, it was a video game that was simply too difficult for my tiny brain to comprehend and yet I stuck with it for so long. Bandai Namco Entertainment Japan recently revealed that there is a brand-new Digimon World video game on the horizon; Digimon World: Next Order. When I first heard of the news I simply thoughts this was just another Digimon game that would fail to reach Western shores and therefor only work to disappoint me; a huge fan of the Digimon franchise. Bandai Namco Entertainment North America and Europe recently announced that they will be bringing the previous PlayStation Vita …

Liked It? Why Not Play it Again! – Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment Hits The PSN This August

It was about a year ago that the original Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment video game first hit the PlayStation Vita across Australia and New Zealand courtesy of Bandai Namco Entertainment. We here at SnapThirty got the chance to review the Vita version and it was actually given quite a good score despite the fact that I’m not too big a fan of the series. The game brings the world of Sword Art Online to a medium that actually allowed me to enjoy it so, as you can imagine, I’m actually pretty excited for it to hit the PlayStation Network again only this time it’s for the PlayStation 4. Yes, Bandai Namco Entertainment are releasing the game, once again, but instead of it hitting the PlayStation Vita, it will call the PlayStation 4 it’s home, just like many other new titles coming out of Japan. The new version of the game will have updated visuals and will serve as a hype-building title for the next game in the series; Sword Art Online: Lost Song. Bandai …

Pokken Tournament Will Be Coming To A Dave & Busters Near You

Australia is a wonderful country, but it’s not a country that features establishments like Dave & Busters wherein which an individual can sit down for a meal, turn around and play some of the latest arcade machines to be released. Places like that simply don’t exist down under, and it burns me up inside! You North Americans consider yourselves lucky, not just because you have access to restaurant/arcade hybrids like Dave & Busters but because the upcoming fighting title Pokken Tournament is set to be tested in the USA through Dave & Busters locations across the country. Kevin Bachus, the Senior Vice President of Entertainment and Game Strategy for Dave & Busters, recently held his very own Reddit AMA wherein which he was questioned about the localisation of this arcade title. Replying with confidence, Bachus detailed the relationship between the restaurant chain and Bandai Namco America saying that they’re more excited about the North American release of Pokken Tournament than they are of the new Tekken. The exact locations of these test machines has yet …

The King Of Monsters Is Back – Godzilla Now Available

Gone but never lost, Godzilla returns once again as the king of monsters we all known him to be! Bandai Namco Entertainment are incredibly pleased to announce that the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 action title Godzilla has now been made available for digital download across Australia and New Zealand! This new game brings to life the destructive power of the world’s most powerful Kaiju in ways we’ve never seen before. While old-school Kaiju films and terrible Hollywood remakes show what a powerful creature like Godzilla would do in real life, this new game allows you to take control of the reptilian God and his monstrous opponents so that you’ll be able to feel what it is like to be your very own Kaiju! Developed by Japanese videogame studio NATSUME ATARI INC., GODZILLA gives players control of one of the most famous and destructive Kaiju (special effects monsters) in entertainment history. As Godzilla, players will have the power to trample and lay waste to cities. Players will also have to collect G-Energy which can be used …

New PlayStation Vita Title Digimon World: Next Order Just Announced

No! No! This just isn’t fair! It seems like every single time the West gets even a little closer to Japan…they engage rocket boosters and speed off into the distance. Since the announcement of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, Western fans of the franchise have longed to get their hands on it. Finally, a Digimon game for the older fan! Bandai Namco Entertainment throws us a bone and announces that the game will indeed be coming to the West on both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, albeit next year some time. Not a month after that, we’re hearing word of a brand-new Digimon game that’s in development; one called Digimon World: Next Order. The latest issue of Japan’s V-Jump magazine featured a two page spread regarding the new title yet, despite that, not a great deal of information on the game’s story or setting was revealed. What we know of the game is that it will centre around a young Digimon fanatic who’s two partners are Agumon and Gabumon, possibly meaning that the appearance of …

J-Stars Victory Vs+ – PlayStation 4 Review

Have you ever thought about the ramifications of Goku’s Kamehameha going up against Yusuke Urameshi’s Spirit Gun? When two unstoppable forces collide, the destruction caused by it is immense. Now think, what if a powerhouse like Naruto Uzumaki went head-to-head with a speed demon like Ichigo Kurosaki. Which would win; Uzumaki’s Rasengan of Kurosaki’s Getsuga Tensho? Disregarding the millions of dollars worth of collateral damage, who would come out on top? Questions like this are constantly thrown across tables of like-minded pop culture fans all discussing their favorite characters from their favorite pieces of media, each with their own theories regarding who would best who in combat. Usually those questions can never be answer, but it is with the release of crossover fighting titles like J-Stars Victory Vs+ that it all becomes just a little bit clearer. Not since the Japan-only Nintendo DS title Jump Ultimate Stars have we seen this many Shonen Jump heroes and villains come together to throw down in the combined arena. Ever since it was announced for a Japanese release, Western …

Digi-Prayers Answered – Bandai Namco Announces Western Release Of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth

I woke up in a pretty good mood today but it has now been multiplied by a million thanks to some news straight from Bandai Namco Entertainment’s RPG panel at Anime Expo 2015 regarding the Western localisation of a Digimon video game that fans have been waiting for ever since they first dreamed of a more mature piece of Digital Monsters media. The game is called Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, and it revolves around a young man or women, depending on your choice, who must travel between the real world and the Digital World in order to uncover the secrets behind a mysterious virus that’s spreading from human to human causing sickness and death. Of course, there to help are a whole bunch of Digimon who you’ll have to befriend, raise, train, and evolve in order to restore balance and retain peace in both worlds. Canada’s Amazon portal recently listed this Adventure/RPG as a PlayStation 4 title and fans finally found a shred of hope. Now, thanks to Bandai Namco Entertainment’s panel, we’ve been given something solid …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven – Lisa Lisa And Pet Shop Announced As Playable Characters

The latest issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump has just been released over in Japan revealing two more characters set to appear in the next JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fighting title; Eyes Of Heaven. The upcoming video game, which is a spiritual successor to the PlayStation 3’s All-Star Battle, will bring JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure-style action to the PlayStation 4 for the very first time and as a means to win over a new generation of audience members there will be a great deal of additions to both the gameplay mechanics and character roster. Though connected in absolutely no way, the two latest playable characters to be revealed are Battle Tendency’s Lisa Lisa and Stardust Crusaders’ Pet Shop. One is the mysterious mother of Joseph Joestar, a master of the Ripple and possibly the single greatest female character in the entire series, whereas the other is an intelligent falcon in possession of a ferocious Stand. Like I said…not related in any way. Not much has been said regarding the move set of these two. As far as …

Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden – European 3DS Bundle Announced

We Europeans are a lucky bunch! Sure, I live in Australia and it’s not technically Europe but we tend to get a lot of the same things as the great continent so when I see video game news pertaining to it I automatically include us Aussies! Bandai Namco Entertainment’s European branch have today revealed a fantastic Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden bundle for Europe that’ll send you Euro Dragon Ball Z fanatics up the proverbial wall. What’s better than the release of an Arc System Works-made Dragon Ball Z title that throws back to older video games yet still has enough meat on it’s bones to keep you playing for hours on end? How about a version that also happens to come with it’s very own Dragon Ball Z-theme Nintendo 3DS? Yeah, that’s much better! Actually, you may have to flip that around: Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe have announced a special edition DBZ-themed Nintendo 3DS that is set to be released on the 16th of October; the same day as the game’s solo release. This …

Seraph Of The End: The Origin Of Fate PlayStation Vita RPG Announced

Maybe you’re similar to me and were left with a bad taste in your mouth courtesy of the Seraph Of The End’s Anime season finale, or maybe you’re a die-hard fan of both the Manga as well as it’s Anime adaptation who is writing me a death threat letter as you’re reading this. Either way, chances are you’re at least slightly interested in a recent announcement by Bandai Namco Entertainment pertaining to the hit series and it’s upcoming PlayStation Vita video game. Announced through the latest issue of Jump SQ magazine over in Japan, Seraph Of The End: The Origin Of Fate is a mostly mysterious tactical role-playing game that will put you in the shoes of the series’ main character cast. As supernatural soldiers, your task will be to eliminate the scourge of Vampire’s who’ve called a majority of the known world their home and sent the human race into an Attack On Titan-esque way of defensive living; mostly behind big walls guarded by heavily-armed military men and women. Apart from the game being …

Bandai Namco Games Is Getting Another Name Change

I’ve been alive for about twenty years at this point in time and, I’ve got to be honest…I’m getting pretty bored of my name. Frank…that’s kind of simple. I really should change my name. Maybe I should change it every couple of years to stave off the monotony of having a single name for my entire life. You know who has it right? Bandai Namco Games. Well, no actually, what I should be calling them is “Bandai Namco Entertainment” because, starting in April of next year, the video game developer/publisher is changing their name once again! Originally it was Namco Bandai Games for many years but in recent times the company leaders decided that fans of the industry juggernaut needed to be about twenty percent more confused when referring to them so they changed their name to Bandai Namco Games. Now, at the end of 2014, the company has come out and announced that they will be changing their name once again to fit in with their new image that doesn’t necessarily just revolve around …
