First Thoughts: Akiba’s Trip The Animation – Showin’ A Little Skin

The Winter Anime season of 2017 has yet to interest me too greatly. Usually, by this point in time, I’m inundated by a high volume of new Anime to sink my teeth into, but judging by the list of series’ set to begin airing over the next week or so…this season’s going to be a slow one for me. Having played the video games too many times to admit, it’s Akiba’s Trip: The Animation that has my full focus this time around. Akiba’s Trip: Undead And Undressed, originally released for the PlayStation Vita, has seen some three re-releases at this point in time, meaning that the game is more than just a fluke success. That’s why it makes sense that an animation studio like Gonzo would pick up the rights for an Anime adaptation. Strangely enough, this mostly unheard of Anime, and by extension video game series, is also receiving the simuldub treatment, with the English Dub being released shortly after that of the original Japanese. We saw this with Space Dandy quite some time …

Very First Trailer Released For Akiba’s Trip: The Animation

While many around the world are gearing up for the release of the PlayStation Vita’s Akiba’s Beat, there are still many of us that have yet to overcome the majesty of Akiba’s Trip; a beat ’em up video game heavily reliant on one’s ability to strip enemies down to their skin. The latest in the incredibly short series of games, Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed, gained quite the cult following around the world which spurred a series of re-releases that have yet to end with the recent reveal that yet another is planned for a worldwide release to coincide with it’s upcoming Anime series. Simply titled “Akiba’s Trip: The Animation“, this new series will tell a story similar to that of both Akiba’s Trip and it’s sequel. Though many of the characters are reminiscent of those we’ve seen in the past, this is a new story that basically follows the same outline. Acquire, the game’s developer, have recently released the very first trailer for the upcoming Anime series that doesn’t show as much as we …

Prepare To Take To The Streets Once Again With The Newly Announced Akiba’s Beat

It was in the year 2011 that the Japanese public first laid their eyes on the PlayStation Portable title Akiba’s Trip. This strange action title that relied heavily on a combat system based around stripping the clothes off of your enemies to submit them to the harsh rays of the sun took the country by storm, but due to it’s incredibly niche audience…this game was never released in the West. Jump to the year 2014; a follow up to the original game title Akiba’s Trip: Undead And Undressed was released worldwide to the kind of reception that justified the original game never leaving the shores of Japan. Still, despite what many critics said about this game, it quickly became a cult classic. The game then got a re-release for the PlayStation 4, originally being on the PlayStation Vita, and it once again saw a resurgence, albeit a slight one. Acquire, the developers and Japanese publishers of the game, saw how popular this game series was in it’s home country and have now decided, in the …

Akiba’s Trip: Undead And Undressed – PlayStation 4 Review

Just incase you havn’t had enough fun running through the streets of Tokyo’s Akihabara, striping random civilians and getting chased by the cops, NIS America have decided that it’s time for the game you played on both the PlayStation Vita and the PlayStation 3 to be released on the console with greater capabilities; the PlayStation 4. It was only last year that the West got its chance to taste the incredibly Japanese style of “Akiba’s Strip: Undead and Undressed” and even though it met with pretty average scores the world over, it has still somehow remained such a lovable and well-enjoyed game. At least, people like it enough for the developers over at Acquire to organise for the game to receive an updated port for a “next gen” console. In fact, there’s already word that the same game will, once again, be ported onto another console! This time the Nintendo 3DS. What gameplay mechanics will be added to that version I have no idea, but I’m not here to talk about the game that hasn’t …

“Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed” To Be Released In Europe Next February

“Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed” for the PlayStation Vita and the PlayStation 3 has already been released worldwide but NIS America just want you to know that you havn’t seen anything yet, not until you’ve laid eyes on the upcoming PlayStation 4 version of the stripping game many people the world over love so dearly. Yes, in case you havn’t heard; there IS a PlayStation 4 version of this game that comes loaded up with a whole bunch of gameplay extras as well as some fantastic graphics that just couldn’t be seen on the PS3 and PS Vita thanks to their inferior visual capabilities. That isn’t the case anymore though. The PlayStation 4 version is on the way and with it will come a whole new gameplay experience that NIS America boasts people who’ve already played the game will still enjoy. “Undead and Undressed” has already been released on the PlayStation 4 in both Japan and in North America with the next in line to get the game being Europe. NIS America announced today that the …

Akiba’s Trip Shows Off PS4 Launch Trailer

For those who possess an interest in Japanese gaming and own a PS Vita, you may recall a little game known as Akiba’s Trip that was released not too long ago. If you haven’t heard of it, allow me to elucidate. Players take control of a character known as whatever you want to name him, a boy tricked  into becoming a vampire analogy by an evil guy. He then proceeds to fight said vampire people in the only logical way, by stripping off their clothes…because of the vampire’s weakness to the sun of course. What were you thinking? Anyway, the game is set to receive a bigger screen release on the PS4 and is slated to come with a few additional features. Toybox Mode allows players to begin the game with a bunch of handy items, to give you a little boost before you begin to upgrade the gear you want. The game also contains a number of visual filters that allow you to change how you view good old Akihabara. How you view the …

Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed – Now Available Across Australia and New Zealand

You’re not quite the man you used to be. Lured into a strange, underground, stronghold by promises of rare collectible items, you (the main character) find yourself in quite an odd but ultimately exciting situation. Transformed by the vampire-like race of humanoid creatures called Synthisters, you’re no longer the human you and your friends once thought you were. No, not at all. Instead, you’re now a true Freedom Fighter who must take on an army of pure darkness who’re threatening to envelop Japan’s ‘electirc town’…Akihabara. Much anticipated by the hardcore Otakus out there, ‘Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed’ is a new action/RPG by video game developers Acquire that boasts both ‘epicness’ and hilarity. Why am I telling you this exactly? Well, because it is today that the game has been made available across Australia and New Zealand but only in its physical form, those of you wanting a digital copy will have to wait another week. Yes it is true; ‘Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed’ for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita has finally made …

Akiba’s Trip: Undead And Undressed – Review

A young man and a beautiful girl speed through the busy streets of Akihabara. The duo duck and dodge in and out of back alleys as the people they pass by holler words of encouragement. They’re being chased. Hunted, but not for long. They find the perfect battlefield: Somewhere not as populated as the main streets. Somewhere they can let loose. Somewhere they can fight without holding back. Somewhere they can strip to their hearts content. They call themselves the Akiba Freedom Fighters and the ones they battle, they’re an army of superhuman beings called Synthisters that have neatly woven themselves throughout mainstream Akihabara society and they need to be taken down. Now. In ‘Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed’ you play as, well…you. You’re the main character and, after applying for a dodgy-sounding job, you wake up to find that you’re no longer the same person you once were. Attacked by the people who imprisoned you, you’re saved by a young girl who seems to know of your situation. She saves you and explains that …
