Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment Receives Western Release Date

Can you survive in a hollow world?

The Western release announcements just keep flowing from Bandai Namco don’t they? In addition to Tales of Hearts R, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment has also been designated a specific release date. The PS Vita title will hit North American shores on August 19th, whilst Europeans will have to wait a whole extra day before they can join the party.

The game itself was originally released in Japan in the far flung days of April, so it’s been a bit of a wait for Sword Art Fans. Though hopefully this title will be worth the wait. Bandai seems to be hedging their bets by also including Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment within the release. I always knew it was a cool company. Originally released in Japan for the PSP (an underloved console in the West), Infinity Moment will receive an appropriate graphics boost when it takes to the Vita.

So, are you going to pick up Sword Art Online and join the fray? Remember, it comes out in August so you’ve got plenty of time to enjoy before Tales of Hearts R rolls around. Man, Bandai Namco is really pushing games across the compass points aren’t they? Not that I’m complaining. If my words were not enough to spark some Sword Art interest within you, I leave the official blurb below. It is as follows:

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment captures the characters and storyline of the SAO universe — a series of virtual-reality worlds set in the near future. Combo attacks, execution speed and knowledge of the opponent will be mandatory to survive in this VR world!

They should allow us to pre-order Hollow Fragment now so we can play Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment as a warm-up before Hollow Fragment launches in august.

I never thought of that! That’s a damn good idea, man! :D
