I never expected a roster addition like this…I’m not sure anyone did! It was announced today through Japan’s ‘Famitsu’ magazine that the new addition to the ‘Persona’ series who was introduced to fans through the ‘Persona 4 Golden’ PlayStation Vita title will be made available as a DLC character soon after the release of the upcoming ‘Persona 4 Arena Ultimax’ fighting game.
I’m sure you all already know who it is I’m referring to seeing as it is in the title but I’ll say it once more just to drive home the point: Marie of ‘Persona 4’ has been announced as the next playable character to join the already extensive roster and fans of the series the world over could not be more excited! I know I am! The punky young girl with the mostly-blue outfit will join her new friends in the arena for what is looking to be one hell of a massive ‘Persona’ brawl.
Much like ‘Felix The Cat’, Marie is armed with a bottomless bag from which she can pull all different types of practical items that can be used for battle. Alongside her magical handbag, Marie will have the Persona Kaguya to keep her company in battle. Though not directly linked in the game, it is somewhat common knowledge that Kaguya is the official Persona of Marie so it is only fitting that they partner up for some smack down.
No images nor footage has been released depicting the new brawler in her battling element but it is safe to assume we’ll be getting more information on her very soon. Japan will be getting ‘Persona 4 Arena Ultimax’ first, as usual, on the 28th of August whereas North America (and the rest of the world) will be getting the game sometime this Autumn/Fall. The game is set for a release on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 thanks to ATLUS who both developed and published the new game.
UPDATE: ATLUS today released a few screenshots showing Marie in action. Her special move was also announced to be called ‘Thunder of the Bound Flame’.
