Here’s the deal; if you’re not excited about the prospect of a brand-new ‘Dragon Ball Z’ movie, especially after seeing ‘Battle Of Gods’, I’m sorry but I don’t think we can be friends. Not that being my friend is a privilege of any kind. This particular piece of news was not meant to be officially released until Saturday where it will feature in the new issue of Shueisha’s ‘V Jump’ magazine but thanks to an unknown citizen of this great world ‘DBZ’ fans were given the announcement early by almost a full week! Coming next Spring, as part of the ‘Golden Week’ celebrations, a new ‘Dragon Ball Z’ movie will be released.
Akira Toriyama, the series’ creator himself, has done a great deal of work for this movie with him being credited for the overall story concept, script and character design of who I’m assuming are some new friends and foes to be introduced in the upcoming film. The movie will feature an entirely new story much like that of ‘Battle Of Gods’ but something a little different and immeasurably exciting is that it is a storyline that Toriyama wanted to put into the original Manga which means this is one that he has been working on for many, many years.
Mr. Toriyama seems to want to be heavily involved in the production process with the announcement describing that he will be quite pedantic in all development aspects. I would go as far to say that this film announcement is more of a teaser than anything else. It actually doesn’t divulge any specific information about the story or the new characters within it, just that Toriyama is currently in the design process. Quotes from the man himself are scattered throughout the announcement and they basically all say the same thing; “I’m majorly in on this.
All ‘DBZ’ fans must watch!”. Obviously I’m heavily paraphrasing here but that doesn’t make it any less of a truth. It’s clear that Mr. Toriyama wants to make a ‘Dragon Ball Z’ movie that is one hundred percent guaranteed to make audiences go wild and if it turns out anything like the way he is describing it, well…it’s going to be a damn good film!

Battle of Gods…what a f***** waste of time!
The previous movie Friends of Goku Return blah blah blah, that introduced Vegeta’s younger brother was also a waste of time.
i’m going to wait for a trailer to see how good it is.
DBZ has gone down the damn drain.
90’s DBZ are the best.
Awww man, sorry to hear you didn’t like it. I, on the other hand, actually quite enjoyed the movie just for what it was; a quirky DBZ movie. I’m hoping this new movie is great! :)
