Cannon Busters: The Animated Series KickStarter Opens

The power of friendship…and weapons

Once again we find ourselves turning to KickStarter to check out another hopeful crew and the project they are attempting to fund. Thus I introduce Cannon Busters: The Animated series, an endeavour based upon a comic created by TV Animation Producer and Director LeSean Thomas (The Boondocks, Black Dynamite: The Animated Series, The Legend of Korra Book 1). The noteworthy international crew also includes Joe Madureira (character concept artist for Darksiders, to name one), Thomas Romain (mech designer for Space Dandy, to name one) and Producer Tim Yoon (The Legend of Korra). Support has also been noted from Stelight Inc. and

Cannon Busters is an animated adventure about the value of friendship and just how far one is willing to go to maintain it. If The Wizard of Oz met the Hidden Fortress with influences derived from Escaflowne, hip-hop, and classic RPGs — you get Cannon Busters, one wild ride of fun, suspense, action, and wackiness. It’s a roadshow-style adventure of epic proportions!

Follow the adventures and exploits of S.A.M, a high-end, royal-class friendship droid who’s joined by a quirky, discarded maintenance robot and a brash, deadly fugitive. Together, the unlikely trio embarks on an unforgettable journey in a fantastic and dangerous world in search of S.A.M’s best friend, the heir to a powerful kingdom under siege.

The team is hoping to reach $120,000 in order to produce a 10 minute pilot episode, though plans do exist for a full 24 minute episode should the funds exceed the goal. Now, the team have created a number of concept sketches, plot details and information on the multitude of stretch goals for this campaign, so why not check ’em out over on KickStarter? Seriously, these kind of funding campaigns are pretty awesome. So why not contribute? If you’re interested of course. This isn’t a pledge drive, I just personally think this series looks cool. I mean it has guns and immortal guys and I’m pretty sure there’s a car that turns into a mech bull. Which is boss.
