Yo-kai Watch 3’s Second Promotional Video Shows Off It’s New Mechanics

Nothing warms my heart more than seeing something new from the world of Yo-kai Watch. Here in the West we’ve only received the first game in a series of, soon-to-be, three money-making Yo-kai Watch titles that have taken Japan, and the world, by storm. While us non-Japanese residents are sitting here waiting for Yo-kai Watch 2 to get it’s very own localised release, those lucky many living in the great land of Nippon are gearing up for the third game in the series that will take protagonist Keita (Nate) out of his hometown and send him all the way to the fictitious town of St. Peanutsburg in the United States of America.

Fact is…we know all this stuff already. It was revealed a while ago that the third game will feature some drastic changes to the story, but it’s only now that it has been revealed that the game’s mechanics will also feature a nice change, but from what I can tell…it looks like it’s for the better! Level-5 have just recently updated the game’s official site to include a new promotional video that, while showing off a couple of the new Yokai, highlights the changes players will have to get used to when diving into the upcoming game.

Much like older Pokemon titles, it seems as though the main Yokai of your team will now follow you in the overworld, which is a nice touch that I believe brings all the more charm to this series. Alongside that; Yokai in battle will no longer stay in place, only to be spun around at your will. Yo-kai Watch 3 allows for Yokai to be moved across a three by three grid that will allow you do deliver certain buffs to certain teammates depending on their type. The new female protagonist will, unfortunately, not be Fumi (Katie), instead it will be Misaro Inaho; a Japanese girls that also has come to America.

Yo-Kai Watch 3 is looking to be another excellent addition to the highly-popular series, and us here in the West are just praying we get it as soon as humanly possible which, seeing as number two has yet to have been released…could be somewhat of a long shot. Yo-kai Watch 3 will hit Japan on the 16th of July this year, and will come with pre-order bonuses that match each of the games: Yo-kai Watch 3: Sushi will be accompanied by a Tomnyan medal, whereas Yo-kai Watch 3: Tempura will be accompanied by that of a KK Brothers medal. If all this sounds crazy to you, perhaps you should check out my previous article introducing you to some of the newly-revealed Yokai: Click Here.

The best way to catch up on this news, though, is by watching the new promotional video for yourself just below. Enjoy!
