Re-Release Of Savage Garden Singles Collection To Feature Diamond Is Unbreakable Cover

The latest season of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Anime adaptation, Diamond Is Unbreakable, is only a few episodes in at this point in time, but it has already become one of the most loved series’ of not only this season but of the year so far. With stunning visuals and an incredible storyline, it’s hard not to love Diamond Is Unbreakable, but out of everything it was the series’ theme song that shocked audiences the most. Set to a series of slow-paced visuals that have now proven to be the natural successor to the once-royal “Guile’s Theme Goes With Everything” meme, thanks to countless edits that replace the ending theme with any number of wacky and wonderful songs from the era, the ending track for the series is a song by Australia’s own Savage Garden who, at the time, were just as popular in Japan, if not moreso!

Many people’s love for the 1996 track “I Want You“, as well as their love for Savage Garden as a whole, has recently been rekindled thanks to that of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure so it’s only natural that the branch of Sony in Japan that handles the distribution of Western songs well be re-releasing the Savage Garden Singles Collection, this time to be accompanied by a dust cover that just so happens to feature your favorite juvenile delinquent with a heart of gold; Josuke Higashikata.

This new edition of the Singles Collection will feature all the songs compiled for it’s original release some time ago, but with the extra added bonus of a live rendition of “I Want You”, just for those of you out there that simply cannot deal with only having one version of this Cherry Cola-loving track. The band, made up of musicians Darren Hayes and Daniel Jones, gained popularity in the mid 90s and early 2000s due to their interesting and highly unique take on the pop/soft-rock genre, the likes of which the world simply hadn’t seen before. They also made a huge impact on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure creator Hirohiko Araki who has commented on the track “I Want You” saying that it is a perfect representation of the spirit of the story. Unfortunately there is no reference to Savage Garden like there are so many other bands and songs in Diamond Is Unbreakable.

The re-release is set to hit store shelves across Japan on the 25th of May, which isn’t too far away! Unfortunately nothing has been said regarding a Western release for this item, but considering it’s deep-rooted connection to Western music, our hope is that it sees somewhat of an international release sooner or later. Until then, you can still pick up the original release of Savage Garden’s Single Collection like both Luke Halliday and I have done. With Josuke on the front cover or otherwise, it’s still a damn good collection of tunes.
