No, you didn’t read the title wrong. Madman Entertainment, one of Australia’s biggest Anime distributors, has just announced that they have picked up the theatrical license for the upcoming and final “Naruto” film “The Last: Naruto The Movie”.
The movie is set for a theatrical release in Japan just before the end of 2014 and in 2015 fans of Anime living “down under” will too be able to finally lay eyes on what will be the official finale to the “Naruto” franchise…apart from a pair of upcoming Manga that have only been “hinted” at.
I think we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it though. For now, let’s just say that “The Last: Naruto The Movie” truly is the “last” we’ll see of the hi-vis Ninja. The 17th of January, 2015. Note it down on your calendars because that’s the day “The Last: Naruto The Movie” will be coming to down and I really don’t think you want to miss it.
Madman being Madman, there’s a very good chance that, sometime in the future, the movie will also get a home video release, but this is just speculation so don’t take me word on it. Madman says that more information on the screening will be released as the date comes closer so stick around and when there’s an update you can bet you’ll see it here on the site. For now, enjoy what “Naruto” content you already own and prepare for the end.
The moon is approaching dangerously close to Earth! Unless something is done, the moon will disintegrate, showering the Earth with gigantic meteorites. As the clock ticks towards the end of the world, can Naruto save the earth from this crisis? The final chapter of Naruto’s story unfolds! – Madman Entertainment
The film has been confirmed for eighteen cinemas across the country with times and prices being announced closer to the date, as mentioned above. Unfortunately New Zealand will be missing out on this theatrical screening but, New Zealanders, if you can afford a plane ticket across to one of the cities, I suggest you do so. That is, if you’re a big enough “Naruto” fan. They cinemas hosting “The Last: Naruto The Movie” are as follows:

Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie is an under par anime film that seems to ride the wave of reputation instead of actually delivering a fantastic animated film.
