First Character Visuals Released For The Live Action “Attack On Titan” Films

Now THIS is the news piece to lighten up your week! We’re all aware that there are a pair of “Attack On Titan” (Shingeki No Kyojin) live action films set for a theatrical release across Japan in the Summer of 2015. Hype for these films have been slowely building ever since the Anime first aired. It wasn’t that the films had been announced back then but we ARE a part of the pop culture-loving crowd and we ARE the types to jump the gun and get a little excited for things that may or may not necessarily exist. These movies, though, do exist and they’ve got a pretty awesome cast.

Readers who aren’t entirely fans of Japanese cinema may not know any of the names you’re about to see. That’s fine though because the main point of this article is not what they’ve done in the past but what they’re doing right now, and that’s “Attack On Titan”. Filming started this year and we’ve actually not seen much regarding what’s to come in the new movies…until now. Today, a couple of Japanese film websites posted a whole bunch of promotional images regarding the upcoming films. These images show the actors in full makeup and costume, posing in quite typical “Attack On Titan” ways. Now there’s a few things that may seem a little odd about these images.

One may be Armin’s jet black hair in lieu of his golden locks. Another may be the “intimate” relationship shown between Hanji and a pretty modern-looking RPG. It has been said that the producer of the films, Yoshihiro Sato, took a “different” approach when selecting a cast. Instead of going for people who simple resembled the characters, he instead went for ones who can portray their, let’s say, overall vibes. Something else you may take notice of; some of the characters listed below are not recognizable at all.

This is because they’re original movie characters, some of which are quite pivotal to the story. Instead of going on and on, I’m going to stop right here. The images are all labelled below so scroll down, check them out and make sure you let us know what you think of them in the comments at the bottom of the page. I’m sure we’ll eventually see this movie come to the West through a publisher like Madman Entertainment. At least, that’s what I’m hoping. Don’t take my word for it though.
