Feelin’ Hot Hot Hot – One Piece: Burning Blood Hits The West In 2016

This is news regarding an upcoming One Piece video game so, chances are, you’ve already heard everything you possibly could’ve about it. That’s just the way promotion works for new titles based on this highly-popular Shonen Jump series. Only recently, Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed the Spike Chunsoft-developed One Piece: Burning Blood, announcing that it will not only be getting a release across Japan but also throughout the West. What we, the pop culture-loving people, were not told was WHEN we would be seeing this title hit local shelves, and today…that’s exactly what Bandai Namco have announced.

Lacking specifics, One Piece: Burning Blood is confirmed to be released in the West sometime in 2016 for not only the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, but also for the Xbox One, making it the first One Piece video game title to cross the console border, previously only being released on Sony systems. Burning Blood will be unlike all the other One Piece video game titles that have come before it, rather than playing as a single character against hordes and hordes of powerless enemies, Burning Blood will have gamers fight one-on-one in true fighting game fashion. Finally, a One Piece fighting game!

This hasn’t come out of nowhere though, Hervé Hoerdt, VP Marketing & Digital at Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, had this to say regarding the game’s change of pace:  “Meeting our fans on public & private events is a good way to get feedback on our games and see what the expectations are. One Piece: Burning Blood is the perfect example of us creating a game impeccably in-line with fans’ desires. The long awaited pure fighting-game based on the One Piece universe is here! To add to that, we are quite happy to release the game on multiple platforms, especially on a Microsoft console, since it’s the first time ever for a One Piece game.

As mentioned; One Piece: Burning Blood is set for a worldwide release in 2016 on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and the Xbox One, so you’ve got no reason to miss out on what is looking to be one hell of a great game. If you did miss the announcement trailer from Tokyo Game Show 2015, I have provided it for you just below, so check it out.
