Dragon Ball Z: Super Extreme Butoden Announced For The Nintendo 3DS

Dragon-Ball-Z-Super-Extreme-Butoden-Scan-01In my humble opinion; the more contemporary handheld consoles like the PlayStation Vita and the Nintendo 3DS don’t get as much “Dragon Ball Z” love as they should. Yes, it’s true, “Dragon Ball Z” games for the 3DS over in Japan aren’t as “rare” as I made them sound but they don’t necessarily get as much publicity as those that get a release on bigger consoles like the PlayStation 3, 4, the Xbox One and the 360.

This is always a huge disappointment for people like me who love handheld gaming and want to see the titles released specifically for the consoles shine. This is why I’m very excited about the upcoming Nintendo 3DS fighting game “Dragon Ball Z: Super Extreme Butoden” which has only just been announced through the latest issue of V-Jump.

Boasting a roster of one hundred plus characters, I have a feeling deep in my gut that this will be the game to break the localisation barrier and get a release the world over. Why? Not only does it resemble older “DBZ” handheld fighters like “Supersonic Warriors” which was released on the Nintendo DS but with the soon-to-be-released “Dragon Ball: Xenoverse” rising in popularity I can only image that would give publishers more of a reason to give the fans as much “Dragon Ball Z” as they can handle.

Developed by Arc System Works, this 2D fighter will feature all the characters you’ve come to know and love from the series as well as some incredible-looking battle stages and all the awesome action you could possibly get out of a deep 2D fighter. All that’s been said about “Super Extreme Butoden” is that it’s getting a release in Japan sometime this Summer. Hopefully it gets a release in the West sometime after that.
