‘Xenoblade Chronicles’ Remake In The Works For New Nintendo 3DS

Nintendo is a money-making company and a crafty one at that. As a part of their latest ‘Nintendo Direct’ presentation, the Japanese video game developer and publisher announced that they will soon be releasing a new Nintendo 3DS model that hosts both hardware and software upgrades. Not being too different from the current 3DS models, fans haven’t quite given up on the console they have now BUT, in the same ‘Nintendo Direct’ presentation, the video game juggernaut announced that a remake of the Wii you action/RPG title ‘Xenoblade Chronicles’ is on it’s way and will only be playable on the ‘New Nintendo 3DS’ due to it’s superior processing capabilities. They’ve just given hard-core RPG fans a reason to toss their current consoles to the curb. This is most likely the start of a new transition from the standard 3DS to the ‘New Nintendo 3DS’ with the former eventually being rendered obsolete. ‘Xenoblade Chronicles’ for the ‘New Nintendo 3DS’ will be similar to it’s original release but will be developed in a way to be more …

Nintendo Announces Yet Another 3DS Model

Nintendo have gone ahead and done it again. The famed Japanese video game developer and publisher have just announced a brand-new 3DS model for Japan that will surely make it’s way around the world in due time. Titled the ‘New Nintendo 3DS’, this handheld console will host many of the same features it’s predecessors do but with a couple of small hardware and software upgrades that fans of the system have been begging to get from Nintendo ever since the console first came out. The feature Nintendo has chosen to focus on the most happens to be a second C-Stick located on the left hand side of the 3DS just under the system’s hinge separating the upper and lower halves. That along with two extra buttons located on the back of the console, the ‘ZL’ and ZR’ buttons, will make playing games like ‘Monster Hunter’ a whole lot easier and, up until this point in time, fans wanting to play games of this type properly would have had to buy a peripheral piece of equipment …

Cardfight Vanguard Volume 3 Review

Who ever thought card games could be so serious? Well with volume 3 of Cardfight Vanguard Aichi becomes deeper and deeper enthralled with his new found abilities. He continues to pummel his competition, but can his new found strength be considered as such when he can already foresee the outcome? This volume of Cardfight Vanguard continues on from last volumes tournament conclusion, with Team Q4 dealing with their failure, something that Aichi takes quite hard. After being introduced to a new Dark Blaster Blade card, Aichi begins to take a turn for the worse, spiraling into habits that can only be described as evil. It is tough to watch the usually meek and good natured Aichi become more or less a villain. This dark version of Aichi really is quite a twist and given the Psyqualia power to foresee the future, you can see how it goes to Aichi’s head. Having to rise back from the ashes, Team Q4 tangles with Ren and his cohorts again, but Aichi’s increasing psychic abilities are causing concern for all …

Shulk Of ‘Xenoblade Chronicles’ Fame Joins New ‘Super Smash Bros.’

Feel the power of the Monado! Shulk from the much loved Wii video game title ‘Xenoblade Chronicles’ has just been announced as the latest addition to the upcoming ‘Super Smash Bros.’ character roster and fans are absolutely loving it! It was but a week ago that someone with early access to the game leaked a couple of images of the in-game character selection menu which happened to feature a couple of extra character not yet announced. I chose to focus on the fact that Ness will make a return but it seemed as though the rest of the internet instead decided to focus on a little guy named Shulk, main character of ‘Xenoblade Chronicles’ and the wielder of the extremely powerful Monado blade. Well Nintendo came out today and release both a batch of screenshots and an announcement trailer for Shulk, confirming his inclusion in the game and dismissing all doubt placed upon that particular ‘leaker’ and his/her ‘believability’. The new game is set for a release on the 13th of September in Japan, the …

Time To Set Sail Once Again! One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Announced

It was only a matter of time before we’d be hearing this news. Bandai Namco Games alongside their ‘Pirate Warriors’ partners Tecmo Koei Games have just announced their next big ‘One Piece’ video game title ‘One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3’. Yahoo! This news is fantastic and comes as quite a surprise seeing as the Tokyo Game Show is coming up and this writer would have thought they’d have announced it there. One thing we’re keeping up hopes for is that they take the chance to reveal more information about the game at the upcoming video game expo which, considering Bandai Namco and Tecmo Koei’s past experiences, I’m sure they’ll absolutely do! ‘Pirate Warriors 3’ will continue on the same vein as the other two games as it retells the ‘One Piece’ story through mind blowing CG animation and some of the best brawling you’ll find in a contemporary game. The previous game (‘Pirate Warriors 2’) had a heck of a character roster so one can only assume that the new roster will be bigger and …

Cardfight Vanguard Movie tells the tale of two worlds, both revolving around card games

Stand up, my Vanguard! That is right folks, the upcoming Cardfight Vanguard Movie, which is actually two movies in one, now has a trailer and boy oh boy is it exciting. The movie is titled Cardfight Vanguard: Three Games and Neon Messiah. It is split into two parts, Three Games and Neon Messiah, one live-action and the other animated. The Three Games portion is live-action and stars musician DAIGO as a cardfighting hero who must presumably play ‘three games’ to save the world from some ominous evil threat which can only be thwarted by playing a card game. Neon Messiah however features the anime portion of the film, following Aichi Sendou and long time frenemy Toshiki Kai as they must compete in a new Vanguard Grand Prix. What lies ahead in this Grand Prix is sure to determine the very fate of the universe, all of which hangs in the balance of a card game. Check out the trailer for these two rousing films below. Stay tuned for more information as it comes to light. -30-

Kuroko’s Basketball heading to the bench, manga coming to an end?

Rumours are running wild all over the Kuroko’s Basketball fandom with a leaked announcement from next week’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine apparently revealing that the series is ending in that issue. Now it must be said that while there is images to support these claims, such as a color cover page for the series in next week’s issue leaking online. But one must beg the question, if the series is ending next week, why are we only finding out now? In the past when bigger manga series are heading towards their conclusion an announcement of that ending is usually made in advance, likely to drive sales of the finale issue. Such was not the case here. So is Kuroko heading to the bench indefinitely or will he be hitting the hardwood again? Right now it is too soon to say, but it goes without saying that next week’s issue of Weekly Shonen Jump will definitely spread some light on the matter. Until then, stay tuned for further updates or just post an emotional rant on …

“Pokken Tournament” Said To Feature More Than Just Fighting-Types

The latest ‘Pokemon’ spinoff video game title was just announced by The Pokemon Company and it is called ‘Pokken Tournament’. The arcade-only fighting game has only received one trailer as of right now and it is looking damn fine! The announcement trailer featured two Pokemon; Lucario and Machamp who went head-to-head just to show us how damn cool a Pokemon fighting game could be. The internet exploded with excitement at the premise of such a video game but with that excitement also came disappointment, disappointment at the fact that, as of right now, this game has only been announced for Japanese arcades BUT the general audience are keeping up hope that it will eventually make it around the world in the form of a console game. A while back a low quality image began circulating the web, this image featured what looked to be a screenshot of a video game that had a Lucario facing off against a Blaziken, people are now considering this to be the very first image of what has now bee …

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment Review

SWORDS! They’re so exciting! I’ve never used one before and, chances are, I’ll never use them at all. Why? Because, contrary to popular belief, I’m actually not a Samurai…though I want to be so bad. I instead rely on video game characters to do all of my sword wielding. Like most gamers I live vicariously through the characters I create on-screen. ‘Sword Art Online’, the highly popular Anime/Light Novel series, begs audiences to think about how they would go about living within a game world where death in the game means death in reality. In the PlayStation Vita title ‘Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment’, players are put into the virtual shoes of series hero Kazuto Kirigaya or ‘Kirito’ as he prefers to be called. Mostly following the story of the first half of the Anime series, the game features all of the characters fans have grown to know and love but also features a storyline that does it’s best to expand on the ‘SAO’ universe. Players can chose to follow the main story which basically …

Code:Breaker Series Collection Review

An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Such is the law of retaliation and the belief that injustice should be repaid in kind. An objectively understandable concept. Simple in its message, unforgiving in its execution. But is the world really that black and white? Can such a well defined law exist within an ever changing society? Though what of the inverse? Is redemption and reform more viable an option? Or is seeing life in shades of grey simply ignoring the truth? Well in order to answer these questions and quell your thoughts, let us venture in the complex anime hierarchy that never fails to explain the intricacies of life, death and everything in between: High School. Sakura Sakurakoji is just your average, everyday, repetitiously named high schooler. Whilst travelling home on night, she happens upon the strangest of sights; a number of people being burned alive by blue fire (I said it was strange, I didn’t say it was nice). Though no evidence of such a horrible event remains when she arrives on …

Yakuza 0 – Get To Know The Young Kazuma Kiryu With The Video Game Prequel

Warriors are not born, warriors are made. Men do not just ‘become’ Yakuza, it’s a life one must be conditioned for, it is not something that you can simply fall into. Sega’s ‘Yakuza’ video game series is much beloved, as fans we’ve followed the life of Kazuma Kiryu through the ups and downs. We’ve seen the animal inside of him but, in saying that, we’ve also seen the love he can provide. What we’ve yet to see is how he became the Kazuma Kiryu that we now know…until now. Barely a week ago, Sega announced their next big video game ‘Yakuza 0’; a prequel to the franchise that tells the story of a young Kazuma Kiryu as well as a just-as-young Majima Goro, both of which we’ve seen countless times throughout the series. The game, which is set for an exclusive Sony release (PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4), takes place in 1988 and will tell the story of how these two young men came to be. It will take place in the well-known city of …

Featuring Ace, Machina, and Rem as playable characters and …

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution – More Mecha-Naruto Screeshots Released

It’s 2014 and I’d be lying if I was to say that I’m NOT hoping for some sort of robot uprising very soon. I love machines and I want our eventual mech masters to know that I’m 100% on their side! OK, that’s enough robot overlord ass kissing, time to move on to actual news: Anime fans, specifically fans of the long-running Shonen series ‘Naruto’, will be well aware of the upcoming video game from Namco Bandai ‘Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution’. Not only will this new game feature over 100 playable character from both the Anime and Manga but it will also feature a brand-new character who was designed by series creator Masashi Kishimoto himself. Mecha-Naruto was announced as a playable character a while back to the delight of fans the world over. Coming already installed with his own special moves and transformations, Mecha-Naruto is one heck of a force to be reckoned with. Bandai Namco Games released a few more screenshots centered around the new character yesterday with a little extra information …

Karneval Complete Collection Review

Roll up, roll up! Come one, come all! Grab you’re ticket and bring a smile because the circus is coming to town…sort of. In a world twisted by corruption and threatened by monsters, there is only one organisation capable of fighting for justice, I’ll give you three guesses as to who. So sit back, relax and enjoy the mayhem that unfolds when super-powered acrobats take on those who long for destruction in one form or another. We enter our story as soon-to-be-protagonist Nai finds himself at the mercy of a particularly forceful lady named Mine. Luckily for him, and story progression, said situation is interrupted by a cat burglar whom we will all come to know as Gareki (because that’s his name). Any sense of peace is short lived however, as Mine rather swiftly returns…as a monster. Cue escape/fight scene. After using wit and trickery to ensure his safety (and Nai’s I suppose), Gareki speeds to safety aboard a train…that has been hijacked. Though, coincidences aside, this particular sequence of events allows us our first glimpse at Circus, the …

New Pokemon Video Game ‘Pokken Tournament’ Announced

BOOM! Here it is! The Pokemon Company promised us all something ‘shocking’ and that particular something happens to be a Pokemon-centric fighting game that goes by the name ‘Pokken Tournament’. In case you haven’t already guessed from the new game’s name, ‘Pokken Tournament’ is an odd but wonderful video game project that mashes together the world of ‘Pokemon’ with the fighting mechanics of the long-running fighting game series ‘Tekken’ for what will be one hell of an arcade title. Alongside the announcement of the game comes a nice trailer that shows off two of it’s fighters; Lucario and Machamp. Unfortunately for the four-armed brawler, Lucario is a favorite among the fans and seems to be doing a lot more ‘ass kicking’ than his opponent. ‘Pokken Tournament’ will be spearheaded by both The Pokemon Company and Bandai Namco Games, it is set to be released throughout video game arcades in Japan sometime next year and the general hope of Western fans is that it gets some sort of console release and makes it to local shores …

Pluto Volume 1 Review

With a pedigree by the names of Naoki Urasawa and Osamu Tezuka, it is damn near impossible for Pluto to not be good. This first volume of Urasawa’s re-imagining of the wonderful world envisioned by Osamu Tezuka is utterly remarkable. Exploring human emotion through artificial beings is an incredible thing to tackle and Urasawa does so with the deftest of delicacy. Pluto tells us a lot about what it means to be human, all through a robot’s eyes. Urasawa’s take on Tezuka’s world of Astro Boy is a dark one indeed. The style feels almost like a cross between Urasawa’s Monster and Tezuka’s Astro Boy. A winning combination undoubtedly and the direction this story takes is astonishing to say the very least. The series follows a slew of murders taking place across the globe in a future world where humans and robots coexist. We follow Gisecht a robot detective tasked with the case of the series of murders. Gisecht looks very human in appearance, however on the inside he is machine. Throughout his travels to various …

Terra Formars Volume One Review

Let me lay it down for you: Eventually, so I’ve been lead to believe, this planet will be no more. With the inevitable death of the Earth will come the eradication of every single native species…that includes us humans. This is why we have to start thinking about alternative existence plans. Lucky for us, there are a whole bunch of other planets hanging around in the same solar system as ours that would gladly allow for us to change it’s overall makeup to resemble Earth. This is what we call ‘Terraforming’, though it’s a little more complicated than what I just described. The crew of ‘Bugs 1’ – a team of highly intelligent, professionally trained astronauts and scientists that have been sent into space to search for a worthy Terraforming candidate – land on Mars. The red planet, being more like Earth than any other planet in the solar system, seems like the perfect place to start anew. To help the Terraforming process the crew spread things like heat-absorbing moss and algi around the planet, …

Not A Fan Of Fighting? That’s OK! ‘Danganronpa: Another Episode’ Has Got You Covered!

Allow me to start off by saying; I actually know a couple of people who enjoy video games but don’t enjoy video game combat, so it makes sense that some people out there would just rather experience a story instead of unnecessarily slaughtering waves and waves of enemies. Me? Well…I’m a little different, violence is kind of my thing. The upcoming video game spinoff title ‘Danganronpa: Another Episode’ recently got a bit more interesting with Spike Chunsoft releasing information regarding a couple of the game’s difficulty settings. The most intriguing of the trio would have to be the easiest mode that allows for players to take a non-combat approach to the game. In ‘Genocide Mode’, players will be able summon the insane Genocider Jill who you may remember from the first ‘Danganronpa’ game. Good ol’ Genocider will jump out of nowhere and carve up all the enemies in your path allowing you to stroll on through the beautiful environments until you reach a cutscene. This can be done approximately infinity times throughout the game, also…there’s …

Adachi will be accompanied on the battlefield by his Persona Mugetsu-Izanagi and Marie will be joined by her official Persona partner Kaguya. From the launch day, players will have a week to download the two characters before things get changed up and they become paid content. So …

Be Yourself…Or Someone Else With The Customisation Mode In ‘Dragon Ball: Xenoverse’

Ever since I was a child, back in the days when the ‘Dragon Ball Z’ Anime used to grace television sets around Australia each and every weekday morning, I always wondered what it would be like to be one of the ‘Z Fighters’. I used to wish I could fight alongside my hero Goku, I used to dream of surpassing him by reaching the legendary ‘Super Saiyan 5’ of which I made up within my own mind, I used to ponder what my fighting style would be like and how I would beat each and every single one of the enemies that threaten Earth. Now, at the ripe old age of twenty, I realize that I don’t belong in the ‘Dragon Ball’ universe because, let’s face it, I’d absolutely be the guy to replace Yamcha once they decide to stop reviving him from the dead. Fact is…I’d be worse than Yamcha, so I let those dreams fade away. Now, thanks to the option to customize your very own character in the upcoming ‘Dragon Ball: Xenoverse’ …

NIS America Releases A New Batch Of ‘Natural Doctrine’ Screenshots

There’s nothing more frustrating than a video game you cannot win. It’s games like ‘Dark Souls’ that I avoid and, up until recently, I’ve been very excited to get my hands on NIS America’s upcoming tactical RPG ‘Natural Doctrine’, that is…until I found out the two games were quite similar. That’s OK though because my resolve is fiery and I’m going to tackle ‘Natural Doctrine’ as best I can alongside all my gamer brothers and sisters! NIS America have gone ahead today and released a bunch of brand-new screenshots for the game that basically show the more detailed and intricate aspects of gameplay. The images may look daunting but we’re assured that the game is going to be as brilliant an experience as it possibly can and a lot of people are going to finish it with smiles on their faces and a new found love for RPGs in their hearts. Alongside the new screenshots, NIS America also released a trailer for ‘Natural Doctrine’ of which we’ve also provided below just under the small gallery …

More ‘Gangsta’ Anime Cast Information Released

Followers of the site will know that us here at SnapThirty have a deep love for the Manga series ‘Gangsta’, illustrated and written by Kohske and published by Viz Media/Madman Entertainment. About a month or so ago we were given news that the Manga will be getting a Anime adaptation, we were not told when Anime fans would be seeing the Anime but what was released were the names of the voice actors and actress who will be playing the parts of the main trio; Worick, Nicholas and Alex. Today that cast list as tripled in size with a Japanese blog updating their cast list for the Anime with a whole bunch of new names. This is exciting news because it means we’re getting closer and closer to the actual release of the Anime, or at least we’re getting closer to actually seeing some imagery of what the Anime is going to look like. Either way I’m very excited for the upcoming adaptation and I know you’re all just waiting to see who has signed …

Vagabond (Vizbig Edition): Volume One – Review

There’s something within each and every single human being that drives us forward. We set ourselves goals we aim only to achieve despite the odds that may or may not be stacked against us. We enter into a state much like that of a boxer’s ‘tunnel vision’ where all we see is future success and no matter what, we believe that we will succeed. This is why the world continues to evolve day by day, but why exactly do we do this? In a way, being the greatest in your own field is somewhat of a selfish act. Think, just for a moment, the true reason why we do what we do. Is it for self satisfaction? Perhaps. Is it for the fame and glory? Quite possibly. Is it to be immortalized in the history of life itself? In my opinion, that’s exactly why we reach for higher ground day after day. As humans we long to live forever! Infinity is something we each wish to achieve whether it is through your career or through …

Alright, reader, it’s time to dust of your PlayStation Vita and settle yourself in for what is going to be one hell of a sword fighting experience, let’s just hope players of this game don’t fall victim to the same fate the players in the Anime series did! Bandai Namco Games has today released their newest Anime title ‘Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment’ in Australia and Across Europe which means the game is now officially available worldwide! It was released in Japan earlier in the year but in North America just a day ago so it wont take us ‘Euro’ and ‘Aussie’ gamers too long to catch up to our American brothers and sisters. ‘Hollow Fragment’ mostly follows the story of the Anime series ‘Sword Art Online’ but, much like previous video game title in the series’ catalog, tends to stray from the path of ‘canon’ and instead tells different tales which just so happen to feature the same characters we’ve come to know and love. Bundled with ‘Hollow Fragment’ comes the series’ previous game …

‘Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call’ – Legacy Of Music Episode 5 Released

If you’re a fan of the ‘Final Fantasy’ franchise or simply a lover of rhythm-based video games, I’m sure you’re aware of the upcoming Square Enix title ‘Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call’, the sequel to the much loved game of similar name for the Nintendo 3DS. Every couple of weeks we’re shown more and more of what this game has to offer and most of this information comes in small videos titled ‘Legacy of Music’. Each of these episodes feature different themes that usually revolve around specific ‘Final Fantasy’ titles. Episode 5, the video that has just been released, does not only showcase the music from one ‘Final Fantasy’ title, instead it focuses on the land of Ivalice and the two most popular games set there. What is interesting about the games set in Ivalice is that the characters within them actually exist in the same universe just at different points in time, each of which playing a pivotal role in the growth and evolution of the world in one way or another. This episode …

We’ve known about this special for quite some time now and we’ve heard a great deal about what we’re to expect in the movie-like Anime event but we haven’t actually been shown who Luffy will be going up against. Luffy, the oath with his party!’ is set to air in Japan on the 30th of August. Unfortunately there’s not a good chance us in the …

Staz Attacks in Blood Lad’s First Dub Trailer

Now this is how you redefine a vampire. Fearing no garlic, nor sunlight, nor religious cross. Poised to attack and with the power to destroy his enemies…of course he’s also lazy and super into anime, so violence isn’t always on his mind. Though you might not guess from this trailer. Of course, I could only be talking about Staz Charlie Blood, protagonist of Blood Lad and all around weird example of a blood sucking horror. Released a fair while ago in Japan, the West will finally see an English dub of the series officially described as such: Werewolves, zombies, and even the Abominable Snowman fight day and night for the title of Territory Boss. The vampire Staz, however, finds the whole thing to be a serious pain. He spends his time watching anime, playing video games, and daydreaming about going to the Human World. That all changes when he meets Fuyumi, a human girl who instantly win’s Staz’s heart, and who then loses her life to a man-eating plant. Refusing to give up on the …

NIS America Releases A New Batch Of ‘Fairy Fencer F’ Screenshots

It’s finally heading to the West! After a release last year in Japan, Compile Heart’s ‘Fairy Fencer F’ (published by Idea Factory in Japan and NIS America everywhere else) has been getting some rave reviews and quite a bit of positive publicity which is making Western JRPG fans even more excited to get their hands on what is to be another great video game import. The PlayStation 3 exclusive is set to hit local shelves in September of this year with North America getting it on the 16th and Europe on the 19th. With only a month to go until the release, NIS America are doing us all a solid by releasing a nice new batch of screenshots that happen to showcase some of the more dialogue-heavy gameplay moments of the new title. These screenshots will introduce you, somewhat, to the characters who will follow you on your journey as well as a nice example of some of the exchanges you’ll be having along the way. Long ago, a dreadful war was fought between the …

‘Hunter x Hunter’ anime series coming to an end at Episode 148

Sad news for Hunter x Hunter fans with word coming through that the anime adaptation of the enduring shonen manga will wrap up its run at episode 148. The news broke thanks to Megumi Han, the voice of series protagonist Gon Freecss confirming on her official blog that she has finished all of her recording for the series and that she is saddened by the conclusion of the anime. Anime News Network posted a translation of the blog which you can see below: “Now that I’ve talked about the turning point for this column, there’s something I want to talk about. The other day, at Sanbunzaka Studio, the place of all the beginnings, we conducted the recording for episode 148 of Hunter x Hunter, which will serve as the turning point for the anime for now. I will not say “final episode” myself. I will be stubborn and only call it “episode 148.” I say this, because in terms of episode numbers, in a certain meaning, this will be the final episode, but I feel …

Start Talkin’! New ‘Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair’ Screenshots Released

Life is fickle. One day you could be enjoying a normal teenage life, the next day you could be locked in a seemingly unknown environment, forced to deal with murder after murder slowly spiraling into a state of anxiety, depression and overall sadness…it’s not likely but it is, I guess, kind of possible. Maybe. Regardless, it is the bonds you form with others around you that make life what it is, so luckily for someone stuck in a situation like what I previously described, there will be plenty of people alongside you to hopefully make friends with. That is…up until they decide to try and kill you. NIS America have today released a brand-new batch of ‘Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair’ screenshots that showcase some of the in-game conversations you’ll be having with other, let’s call them, inmates. ‘Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair’ is set for a North American release on the 2nd of September with a release across Europe to follow closely after that on the 5th of September. ‘Danganronpa 2′ is looking to be one …

Mega Slowbro Confirmed For ‘Omega Ruby’ and ‘Alpha Sapphire’ Through Official Video

This makes two! If you’ve been following recent ‘Pokemon’ news you’d probably be aware that two new Mega Evolutions set to feature in the upcoming video game remakes ‘Omega Ruby’ and ‘Alpha Sapphire’ were leaked by the official Korean website for the two new games. The site accidentally updated their pages to include images and information of both Mega Audino and Mega Slowbro. The internet exploded but up until just two days ago, at this point in time, the new Evolutions hadn’t been confirmed. Well, Nintendo released a video officially confirming Mega Audino only about a day ago but today they have released another video that has officially confirmed the inclusion of Mega Slowbro in the new games. Much like the Mega Audino trailer, the Mega Slowbro trailer shows off it’s new look as well as it’s newly acquired defense boost. Mega Slowbro gains the ability ‘Shell Armour’ when it Mega Evolves which makes it so the Pokemon CANNOT receive a critical hit. It also, as mentioned, gets a massive defense boost that makes it …

Rise Of The Machines – SMASH! 2014’s Gunpla Exhibit

I always thought myself a steady hand. As a child I’d spend my days building using connectable blocks and simple model kits. As a teen I fancied myself somewhat of a handyman, taking classes like ‘Woodwork’ at school. As someone coming out of my teenage years I realize I’m not quite as patient and precise as I used to be so, as you can imagine, watching groups of hard-working ‘Gunpla’ enthusiasts perfectly assembling confusing and detailed robots really puts me in a state of great envy. At most Anime and Manga conventions, in fact, at most conventions that revolve around Japanese Pop Culture, you’ll always find a designated areas where model fanatics can take a seat and relax as they put together a fresh Gundam kit. Also at these conventions are areas where the very best of the very best models are put out on display for all the expo-goers to lay their eyes on and, most of the time, these models are more than magnificent, they’re simply…unbelievable! SMASH! 2014 did not stray from what …

Mega Audino Confirmed For ‘Omega Ruby’ and ‘Alpha Sapphire’ Through Official Video

Here it is! Mega Audino! It was only a couple days ago that something magical happened, something that all ‘Pokemon’ fans pray for while in anticipation of a new video game, something a news writer like myself jumped on almost instantly! That something is…an accidental leak. YES! The official Korean site for the upcoming ‘Pokemon’ video game remakes ‘Omega Ruby’ and ‘Alpha Sapphire’ messed up the other day by releasing official art, information and screenshots of two new Mega Evolutions; Mega Audino and Mega Slowbro. Well Nintendo have now released an official announcement video for one of the two Mega Evolutions (Mega Audino) that has confirmed it’s legitimacy. As previously reported; Mega Audino becomes a combination Normal/Fairy-type when it Mega Evolves and gains the ‘Healer’ ability which, when in Double or Triple Battles, gives the adjacent Pokemon a 30% chance of having it’s status ailments healed. It’s a dynamo when it comes to multi-battles it seems. ‘Omega Ruby’ and ‘Alpha Sapphire’ for the Nintendo 3DS are set for a release in Japan, North America and …

The ‘Cosplay in Today’s Media’ Panel at SMASH! 2014

Conventions. The place where fans of all descriptions gather together to enjoy their shared interest. Panels, stalls, guests. Fun times. But whilst some simply enjoy taking in the atmosphere, some wish to take a more active role in creating said atmosphere. I speak of course of cosplayers. Those select fans who take the opportunity to live their favourite series and embody a character. As time has passed, this practice has only seen an increase in popularity, spreading far beyond the walls of the traditional convention. But with this spread has come a certain uncertainty in the limits and definition of the practice of cosplay. Thus, at SMASH! 2014, a panel was held to explain cosplay in today’s media, aptly entitled Cosplay in Today’s Media. Taking an honest approach to the way the internet, and thus the world, operates, the panel delved into the dark underbelly of every popular site: the comment section. The swirling vortex of anonymous opinions and brutal “honesty” that never fails to deliver a decisive blow to a person’s confidence. Of course …

Madman Cosplay Competition at SMASH! 2014

Ah cosplay. The ever present art that allows people to walk a mile in the shoes of their favourite characters and add an unmistakeable visual diversity to conventions. However, as with any endeavour, there are those who go the extra mile, those who strive for that little bit extra. IT is for these people that SMASH! 2014 was host to the Madman Cosplay Competition, a stage where cosplayers could strut there stuff and show those in attendance the extent of their passion. Though you may simply assume that the cosplayers in question merely stood upon the stage, you would in fact be wrong. Some participants opted to showcase their costumes in more creative ways, producing skits, songs and performances to really express their creative side. From the recreation of a Rocky Horror dance routine, to an intricately choreographed fight scene between the stars of Fairy Tail, to a Naruto and Sasuke skit that pushed some people’s buttons (it involved a remote) there was nary a dull moment on the Main Stage. Unfortunately, said moments do not convey …

SnapThirty Presents: SnapCast Episode 4 – “Technical Difficulties”

In this episode, Kane and Frank (sans Luke) discuss SMASH! 2014 and the latest Mega Evolutions announced for Pokemon. Also, in an unprecedented showing of professionalism and electrical fortitude, a power outage may or may not cause a slight 2 hour break in the podcast (helpfully condensed to a mere 2 second blip for all those listening). Masters Of Sequential Art – The ‘Making Manga’ Workshop At SMASH! 2014

The doors open, the crowds flood in, the event halls fill up with excited bodies and the convention truly begins! It was the first day of SMASH! 2014 and one of the first small events that helped kick off the weekend in a huge way was the Making Manga Workshop, lead by two Sydneysiders who both happen to have an undying passion for visual storytelling and sequential art. Going to conventions, I feel as though most attendees feel safe; they know they’re in an environment that only supports fun and they know that they’re surrounded by thousands of other people with, for the most part, the same interests and one of the interests I found to be in the majority is that of becoming a Manga/Comic Book artist. Most convention-goers, especially those into Anime and Manga, have somewhat of a common goal and I feel as though one day making Manga is one of many. At some point in any Pop Culture fan’s life, they’ve wanted to try their hand at drawing. At least, that’s …

Practice Makes Perfect! The ‘How To Improve Your Drawing’ Workshop At SMASH! 2014

Every person in the world with at least the slightest bit of drive wants to be the very best at something. Occasionally we dig ourselves holes of negativity with counter-constructive thoughts like “why aren’t I as good as X” or “why can’t I even draw X”. These thoughts plague artists every single day and, in some extreme examples, even cause some to rethink their life goals and give up on a life of design. This is a trend that must be stopped and the extremely talented Cecilia Jin seems as though she’s the perfect figurehead to lead a revolution of this kind. A reacurring guest of SMASH!, Cecilia Jin returned this year to host another fantastic panel/workshop titled ‘How To Improve Your Drawing’. As ‘wanabee’ comic book artists and lovers of the industry, fellow writer Kane Bugeja and I made a point of being front and center for what we assumed would be a brilliant and informative panel. Needless to say…it was! Following an odd trend that seemingly took over the volunteer staff of the …

Wonderful Colour! Cai’s Digital Colouring Workshop At SMASH! 2014

Imagine a world in black and white. It’d be like living in a television program from the 40s and I can probably guess that it wouldn’t be too exciting. Had life been exactly the way it looked on a monochrome TV, we’d all be living a pretty bleak existence but we wouldn’t really know any better. Thank the lords there’s such thing as colour in this universe because without it, well…do I really need to go on? The Manga medium is quite an interesting one; it’s entirely in black and white but is somehow still engaging enough to keep our attention and have us flicking to the next page. Western Comic Books sometimes take it a step above that and colour is added to the pages of a series. This colour, when done well, brings about a level of enjoyment from a still image not thought possible until the moment of eye contact. Both illustrated mediums do what they do very well but it is always the pages that explode with vibrance and colour that …

Welcome Back To The Battlefield, Meta Knight! Character Confirmed For New “Super Smash Bros.”

Did you really think they WOULDN’T  bring him back? No, of course not! Everybody loves Meta Knight and not just because he’s just a bad-ass Kirby…well, maybe a little bit. The official website for NIntendo’s upcoming ‘Super Smash Bros.’ title for the 3DS and Wii U was updated today to include some screenshots, each of which focusing on an old character that we’re glad to see return to the battlefield: It’s none other than Meta Knight himself! With no re-introduction trailer having been released, fans will just have to be happy with the new screenshots showing this combat veteran in action. Returning with all his very own moves, obviously with slight changes to adjust balancing issues, Meta Knight is once again a force to be reckoned with, but that’s obviously isn’t it? The new game is set for a release on the 13th of September in Japan, the 3rd of October in North America/Europe and the 4th of October in little ol’ Australia. -30-

Mysterious “Dragon Ball: XENOVERSE” Character Confirmed To Be…Not So Mysterious

Look, reader, I don’t want to sound too egotistical but…I called it! Though, let’s be honest, I’m pretty sure we all though the same thing. A while ago, at this point in time, the upcoming ‘Dragon Ball: XENOVERSE’ video game title was announced by Bandai Namco and featured a character of which no ‘Dragon Ball Z’ fan has ever seen before. Looking like a Saiyan and being ‘front and center’ for most of the game’s publicity, fans automatically began to believe that this particular Toriyama-esque creation is none other than the main character of the upcoming game. Something else I imaging many fans started thinking was that this character will actually be a digital representation of yourself that will be thrown into the battles of ‘Dragon Ball’ history so that you may be able to experience the life of a ‘Z Fighter’, somewhat, first hand. Well Bandai Namco Games have come out today and confirmed everything we’ve been thinking for the past couple of months by announcing that this ‘Mysterious Character’ IS exactly that: A …

Reika SMASH! 2014 Panel, The Art of Cosplay

Over this past weekend at SMASH! 2014 at the Rose Hill Gardens, cosplay superstar Reika held panels for her adoring fans, discussing her love of cosplay and the detailed artistry that goes into crafting the perfect cosplay. Reika is arguably Japan’s best cosplayer, having won numerous cosplay competitions in her home nation as well as internationally. She has garnered global acclaim for her cosplay performances as characters such as Levi from Attack on Titan, Tobio from Haikyuu, Sakon Shima from Sengoku Basara and many many more. During Reika’s panel she held a cosplay workshop, teaching cosplayers in attendance her ways, taking on the role of cosplay sensei for many rookies in the audience. She detailed different ways to style wigs, apply make-up and of course construct the outfit itself. From an outsiders perspective, having no real cosplay experience myself, it was abundantly clear that Reika was an expert on the subject and her professionalism and passion had me enthralled in her panel. Following her workshop demonstration, Reika held a Q&A session answering the questions of …

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire – Korean Site Accidentally Reveals Mega Slowbro/Mega Audino

Oh, man! There’s nothing sweeter than an information leak from an upcoming game, especially when that game happens to be the ‘Pokemon’ remake duo ‘Omega Ruby’ and ‘Alpha Sapphire’! The funny thing about situations like this is that they actually come about quite often but even when they do, fans still find it hard to fully trust the information they have been handed. Word around the web is that the official Korean site for the upcoming ‘Pokemon’ video games ‘accidentally’ released two images alongside some information regarding a pair of Mega Evolutions that will feature, alongside many others, in the upcoming remakes. Slowpoke and Audino, a pair of Pokemon I would have never thought be paired up, have entered the spotlight thanks to their new Mega Evolutions. Slowbro, who apparently is now more shell than…whatever it was before, gains the ability ‘Shell Armour’ when it evolves which makes it so the Pokemon CANNOT receive a critical hit. Fantastic for when you’re in a pinch! Audino, through it’s Mega Evolution, becomes a combination Normal/Fairy-type and gains …

Get Real! The Drawing Skills: Anatomy Panel At SMASH! 2014

As a huge Anime and Manga fan (obviously), there’s something I feel like I can say without hesitation: Reality is not something fans of these particular mediums entirely enjoy, that’s why we escape into worlds filled with wonder and magic, worlds that make us believe we’re all heroes in our own lives or at least if we’re not now we will be eventually! That’s the majesty of Anime and Manga; it’s stepping into a world where reality is thrown out the window, tossed to the curb and left to wilt in the rain, where imagination runs wild and anything is possible! Though, even in saying that, there are some instances where we’re forced to come back down to Earth and even in the world of Anime and Manga, the characters need to look realistic enough for us to believe, even just slightly, that these amazing scenarios could be possible throughout time and space. This is where the style of realistic drawing comes into play and Hilary Sandeman, the host of the informative ‘Drawing Skills: …

20th Century Boys Volume 1 Review

The 21st Century may not be ready for 20th Century Boys, a manga that is so far ahead of its time that it may take another century for the world to truly get it’s brilliance. Naoki Urasawa is the brains behind the work and with a rich history of intelligent, ground-breaking manga, it isn’t any surprise that 20th Century Boys proves to be unlike anything else in manga today. The manga series originally began serialization at the turn of the century, a time of momentous change in the world, but what 20th Century Boys offers is more than just a change from the norm, it reinvents the norm, this is Urasawa’s world and we are all bearing witness to it. From the very first few pages of 20th Century Boys Volume 1 it becomes abundantly clear that this is not your average manga. The framing, the detail, the angles, the fine touches that add immeasurably to the visual messages that Urasawa is trying to convey. There are machinations at work in this volume that would likely …

The latest issue of Japan’s ‘CoroCoro’ magazine, as usually, has revealed much about the upcoming remakes including three more ‘Pokemon’ who have landed themselves a ‘Mega Evolution. Salamence, Altaria and Lopunny are the latest ‘pocket monsters’ to transcend the typical three tier transformation system and into infinity! With their new transformations come new looks and new abilities: Mega Salamence gains the ‘Aerilate’ ability which turns all ‘Normal-type’ moves into ‘Flying-type’ moves and gives the power a 30% boost. This ability was originally only available to Mega Pinsir. Mega Altaria, the now brutal Dragon/Fairy-type combination, gains the ability ‘Pixilate’ which is an ability similar to ‘Aerilate’ but instead of changing ‘Normal-type’ movies into ‘Flying-type’ moves, it turns them into ‘Fairy-type’ moves. Mega Lopunny, who becomes a ‘Normal/Fighting-type’ combination, gains the ability ‘Scrappy’ which allows ‘Normal-type’ and ‘Fighting-type’ moves to land when going up against ‘Ghost-types’. A perfect ability for Mega Lopunny who …

It’s been a little over a month since we first heard about Bandai Namco’s upcoming crossover PlayStation Vita/PlayStation 3 title ‘Super Hero Generation’ and up until now the Japanese publisher/developer has provided the pop culture world with a great deal of screenshots but no actual video footage, that is…until today! The very first trailer for “Super Hero Generation” – a JRPG that brings together the ‘Gundam’, ‘Kamen Rider’ and ‘Ultraman’ franchises – has just been released and I think it has been well worth the wait seeing as the video not only goes for a whopping four and a half minutes but also shows us so much of the game in motion! Robotics;Notes Collection 2 Review

Going in to Robotics;Notes it is almost impossible to ignore that semi-colon in the title and all that it represents. That semi-colon has come to represent the ‘Science Adventure’ series and with the reputation the series has following successful outings in Chaos;Head and Steins;Gate it is difficult not to have great expectations of Robotics;Notes. While it doesn’t quite reach the same heights as its predecessors, Robotics;Notes aims to be something different, something unique, but not exactly what fans of the ‘Science Adventure’ series may have been looking for. This second collection of Robotics;Notes features the final cour of the series and more or less kicks things into overdrive following what was a somewhat meandering first half. We see the foundations laid in the early goings come to fruition in a big way as the whole end of the world conspiracy plot reaches its climax in a rather surprising fashion. It must be said that the show implements a rather slow and lackadaisical pace that does at times feel rather uneventful, but if you soak it in …

They were right! Margaret Announced As Playable Character In “Persona 4 Arena Ultimax”

Astute followers of pop culture news will know that, over the past couple of weeks, fans have been speculating about Margaret being a playable character in the upcoming ATLUS fighting title ‘Persona 4 Arena Ultimax’. This came just after the announcement of Marie as a playable character which came alongside a slightly altered video game cover image that now depicts both Marie and Margaret who you may know both made their debuts in the latest mainstream ‘Persona’ game ‘Persona 4 (Golden)’. For weeks, fans have been in talks over whether or not this could be a possibility and today all your thought have been confirmed; Margaret WILL be a playable character in ‘Persona 4 Arena Ultimax’ and will be made available in the game as post-release DLC much like Marie and Adachi. ATLUS, alongside the announcement of her being in the game, also mentioned that she will be accompanied by three Persona pals; Yoshitsune, Cu Chulainn and Ardha, each of which are quite powerful! The game will be released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox …

With a whopping 85 characters filling it’s roster, it’s a little hard to skim over this game without being even a little interested in picking it up. Featuring characters from most, if not all, parts of the ‘One Piece’ series (including the movies), this game is looking to be one hell of a brawling title. Similar to ‘Super Smash Bro.’, ‘One Piece: Super Grand Battle! …

The Demon King Returns To the Battlefield! Ganondorf Announced For “Hyrule Warriors”

Let’s be honest here, reader; we never really thought Ganondorf WOULDN’T make an appearance for the new game did we? No, I didn’t think so! If the ‘Hero of Time’ is given a chance to slice and dice up the battlefield than so should his eternal nemesis. Today, during the latest ‘Nintendo Direct’ episode stream, Tecmo Koei announced through a wonderfully dark character trailer that Ganondorf will be one of the playable characters in the upcoming ‘Legend of Zelda’ spin-off title ‘Hyrule Warriors’. This comes as some welcome news to fans of the franchise who have been itching to tear up hordes of enemies using nothing but the powers of all-encompassing darkness! Now it is true, Ganondorf does look a little different. Even somewhat strange with his long, luxurious hair but something that was also announced alongside his appearance in the game is that he’ll have a couple of costumes to switch in and out of that may make him look a little more similar to how you remember him. Both the ‘Ocarina of Time’ …

Majora’s Mask Project Continues

Back in the bygone time of 2012, Zelda fans rejoiced when a trailer was released showing Majora’s Mask recreated in HD. Alas, said trailer was not official, merely an unbelievably detailed personal project. Artists Pablo Belmonte and Paco Martinez, of their own volition, set out to renew the dark entry in the Zelda franchise and continue to show the fruits of their labour. A new video reveals that the duo had no intention of merely stopping at a trailer, continuing to work on recreating environments, enemies and any other asset you can think of. Unfortunately, their project possesses very little hope of ever becoming playable, merely due to the limitations that come with a two person workforce. However, the ultimate purpose of this endeavour does lean towards this goal. The two hope to present their work to Nintendo and get the ball rolling on the remake that all Zelda fans are clamouring for. But, as it stands, we have no way of knowing how successful the artists’ project will be. So for now, all we can do is …

One Piece 3D2Y TV Special Announced

As all One Piece fans know, the titular code noted regarding this special saw a pretty substantial time skip in the franchise. Sure we were greeted by a Straw Hat Crew two years improved, but one can’t help but wonder what we missed. Well wonder no more. During the airing of Episode 656, a TV special was announced, titled Ace no Shi wo Koete! Luffy Nakama tono Chikai (Overcoming the death of Ace! Luffy, the oath with his party). As you can assume from said title, the special will focus on Luffy as he trains with Silvers Raleigh. However, do not expect a mere training montage, as a new villain has been introduced. His name: Burndy World or “The Destroyer of the World” if you’d prefer. Having escaped form Level 6 of Impel Down, Burndy is heading straight for Boa Hancock, leaving Luffy to step in once again and save the day. The special itself will run for two hours and will be aired on Fuji TV’s “Premium Saturday” on August 30th at 9:00pm. -30-

Monster Hunter Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Golden Felyne

On the Venn Diagram of life, the crossover of video game fans and those with gratuitous amounts of money to burn is somewhat of a mysterious area. But if you should happen to fall within that realm, have I got some news for you. Are you a fan of Monster Hunter? Do you like gold? Do you possess at least 2,990,000 yen? If you answered no to any of these questions then I’m afraid you shan’t be the owner of a brand new 24 karat Felyne statue, which stands at 3.5 inches and weighs 0.26lbs. If you however emphatically answered in the positive, I feel it necessary to inform you that there is a limit of 10 statues per customer. Pretty limiting am I right? (Note: That was a joke, these things are mondo expensive) [via Siliconera] -30-

NIS America Releases A New Batch Of “Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair” Screenshots

NIS America have pleased fans, once again, today by releasing a brand-new batch of screenshots from their upcoming ‘Danganronpa’ title ‘Goodbye Despair’. With only a month or so left until the game gets an official release, NIS America have decided that their fans deserve a little more enticement so they’ve gone ahead and released a series of eight new screenshots which just so happen to depict some of the upgraded gameplay mechanics that will feature in the new game. ‘Logic Dive’, ‘Hangman’s Gambit’ and the ‘Rebuttal Showdown’ each get their fair share of the spotlight in these screenshots as they’re introduced to the audience for the very first time. The ‘Logic Dive’ is a gameplay state where players must ride a mental skateboard down the path of truth as they’re confronted by questions from others which must be overcome to be able to continue on your way. The ‘Hangman’s Gambit’ is a type of spelling side game that has you try your hand at spelling out a word using singular letters that are flying across …

SnapThirty Presents: Two Idiots Play “Cardfight!! Vanguard”

Ever since the creation of man, we’ve each tried to be the best at something. Every generation has something to pin their name to, and with that comes many individuals who long to be revered as the very best in their particular fields. Luke Halliday, on the other hands, doesn’t care too much for that. He doesn’t long to be the the king of something, he doesn’t bother with silly details like titles or ranks. Luke Halliday, instead, feeds off of the life force of others whom he beats in menial activities like walking, running and even, to a certain degree, breathing. It’s the little victories that count for this man and that is why he decided to challenge me, Frank Inglese, to a couple games of the highly-acclaimed card game ‘Cardfight!! Vanguard’. Mr. Halliday was well-aware that I had no ‘Cardfight!! Vanguard’ playing experience and saw this as an opportunity to squeeze me out of the game before I could even think about becoming attached to it. Another glorious win for him! in all …

Rumour Has It That Studio Ghibli May Be Taking A Well-Deserved Production Break

The word ‘rumour’ is one that immediately strikes doubt into ones personal self. A synonym for ‘rumour’ is ‘gossip’ and that word is one known for it’s low level of truth so I will tread lightly with what I’m about to write within this article. Unlike other online publications, we are not making any accusations regarding the shutting down of Studio Ghibli because, let’s be honest here; that’s not what is going on. This rumour has spread over the past day, at this point in time, because of a television appearance by one Toshio Suzuki who you may know is both the co-founder and former president of the critically acclaimed production studio. Suzuki-Senpai, on this particular Japanese documentary series, made a couple simple comments about the Studio’s, let’s say, current ‘solidarity’ state that were quickly lost in translation. The internet, somewhat, exploded with talks of Studio Ghibli shutting down but what Suzuki-Senpai basically said was that some changes need to be made before they can, once again, begin working on more projects. Basically; the studio …

With an old-school concept that has young boys transforming into powerful robot-type beings, ‘Tenkai Knights: Brave Battle’ will have you and a friend take on hordes of mechanized enemies. Hack, slash and chop your way through all that stand in your way for the sake of two worlds that are about to collide in quite a fatal way. The ‘Limited Edition Bundle’ from Bandai Namco Games will come paired with a mini-figure of the main character and ‘Tenkai Knight’ leader Bravenwolf which cannot be purchased any other way. This bundle will come with both the game and …

Stand Proud With These New “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” Hoodies From “Beams”

I’m going to make a broad assumption and say that all of you reading this right now are absolutely following the new season of ‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’ titled ‘Stardust Crusaders’ as it airs over in Japan. Despite it’s countless plot holes and mostly-intolerable characters, I’d say it is still the series a most look forward to watching each and every week. Perhaps I wont openly admit it but, deep down in the cockles of my semi-frozen heart I know it to be true. I know for a fact that every ‘JJBA’ fan has thought about having their very own ‘Stand’ ability which, if you don’t know, is a psychic-type power that most of the characters in ‘Stardust Crusaders’ (as well as all the characters in later stories) possess and constantly use to their advantage…even if it is in weird and less-than-desirable ways. Well clothing manufacturer Beams have, over the weekend, opened up pre-orders for their newest line of Anime-based clothing and it just so happens to feature the three main ‘Stands’ of the currently-running ‘Stardust …

“Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth” Overview Trailer Released

Bandai Namco haven’t exactly shown us a great deal of what we’re to expect in the upcoming PlaStation Vita title ‘Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth’, but what we do have is just enough to whet our appetite and get us excited for what’s to come. Over the past couple of months, Bandai Namco have slowly but surely been releasing small batches of screenshots and short gameplay trailers just to get fans of the franchise into somewhat of a hype frenzy. Over the weekend the Japanese branch of Bandai Namco released a new trailer for the game that basically compiles most, if not all, of what we’ve seen up until now into a neat little package for us all to enjoy. It shows both the female and male main characters as well as their friends and possible ‘Digimon’ partners. The game is set for a Japanese release sometime in 2015 with no word as to whether or not it will be getting a Western release but hopefully, thanks to the signatures on THIS petition, we may actually …

“Digimon All-Star Rumble” – Gameplay Videos From Bandai Namco Event

Bandai Namco dropped a bomb over the weekend, one that has ‘Digimon’ fans the world over locked in a state of great anticipation and semi-disbelief. A brand-new fighting game was announced, titled ‘Digimon All-Star Rumble’ for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but what makes this announcement as exciting as it is would probably have to be the fact that it is heading to the West within the next couple of months. ‘Digimon’ fans have been longing for a video game from the long-running series as of late and only now where we thrown a bone. That doesn’t matter though, I’m just happy we got something at all. After the morning of the anouncement, Bandai Namco games held a small event where players could try out new and upcoming games, one of which just so happened to be ‘Digimon All-Star Battle’. An event attendee got some time playing and managed to snag some fairly nice footage of the game. This user posted them up on Youtube and we’ve provided them for you just below. The …

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders Anime on Break until 2015, OH NO!

OH MY GOD! It has been announced through the official twitter account of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime series that the anime adaptation of the Stardust Crusaders arc will be put on break following its second cour’s conclusion until January 2015. This is a rather shocking turn of events to say the very least, much like the constant series of shocking turns of events that make up every episode of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. It is expected that the series will wrap up this second cour at 24 episodes, setting up for the Egypt portion of the Stardust Crusaders arc. Stay tuned as more information surfaces on this developing story. For now though I think we can all express our shock with a collective ‘OH NO!’

“Digimon Adventure” Is On It’s Way Back With A New Anime Series In The Works

Now, OK, I’m kind of shaking while writing this right now but I’m going to try my best to keep as much composure as possible. It’s going to be hard though because this is downright the greatest news I’ve heard for quite some time. Avid ‘Digimon’ fans may be aware that this year marks the 15th anniversary of the ‘Digimon’ franchise. As celebration for this momentous occasion, we seen a few awesome ‘Digimon-centric’ releases, one of which being an actual re-release of the original ‘Digimon Adventure’ ‘Digivices’ which have been upgraded ever so slightly to bring audiences a new experience while also allowing them to tap into the deep seeded nostalgia that comes with it. Yesterday an event was held for the anniversary of the franchise where it was announced that plans to make an Anime series that will continue on from the story of the first season of ‘Digimon Adventure’ are already in the works. This series is set for a release in the Spring of next year and will star a seventeen year …

If you’ve been following recent news very closely you may be aware that today Capcom has official re-released the ‘Mega Man’ GameBoy Advanced title ‘Battle Network’ on the Wii U. It was announced just over a week ago that the game would be getting a release and you probably thought that would be the most exciting thing about today but it isn’t. Alongside making ‘Mega Man Battle Network’ available for those of you lucky enough to own a Wii U, Capcom also announced that they have plans to release one ‘Mega Man’ game for each week in August. That’s fantastic! What’s more fantastic? They’ve gone ahead and revealed what games will be coming to the console and they’re as follows: ‘Mega Man 5’, ‘Mega Man 6’, ‘Mega man X3’ and ‘Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge’. This is brilliant news for fans of the ‘Blue Bomber’, it’ll be like a month-long Christmas and every week you can buy yourself a new present. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax – Trailers Released For Akihiko Sanada and Aigis

ATLUS have done it again! It’s been about a week at this point in time since ATLUS last released screenshots or a gameplay trailer for their upcoming action title ‘Persona 4 Arena Ultimax’ which means that it is time for yet another pair of character spotlight trailers with these two focusing on ‘Persona 3’s’ very own Akihiko Sanada and Aigis. ATLUS never let too much time go by without tossing out more hype-inducing news regarding one of their titles and I think that’s why the world loves them. The brutal boxer Akihiko Sanada and the Anti-Shadow android Aigis are back and ready to brawl in these new trailers for the upcoming game and even though the trailers are entirely in Japanese I think audiences will get the gist of what is going on…these two rock ultimate! ‘Persona 4 Arena Ultimax’ is set for a North American release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this Autumn/Fall with a European release to follow shortly after that.
